## In short

Hunta Euljiro is a pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant a 1-minute walk from Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station Exit 1-1 and about 5 minutes from City Hall Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Visiting alone on a weekday at 1pm with no wait, the writer ordered the loin & fillet cutlet set (₩17,000) with a zero-sugar cola, finding the bar table seating and corporate prepayment service convenient for both office workers and solo diners. The tender black pork loin and fillet, paired with scallion kimchi, made for a memorable meal.

I was looking for somewhere to eat lunch near Seoul City Hall and ended up at Hunta Euljiro. Even on a weekday lunch hour, plenty of office workers were there, and the atmosphere felt comfortable enough to eat alone while still enjoying a hearty pork cutlet. Here's my review of this Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station favorite.

## How far is it from Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station and City Hall Station?

*The entrance of Hunta Euljiro*

Hunta Euljiro is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 1-1 of Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station on Line 2. It's also about a 5-minute walk from City Hall Station on Line 1, so both stations offer easy access. Since the area is packed with offices around Euljiro and City Hall, it looked like a great spot for weekday lunch — comfortable for both an office worker's lunch or eating solo.

## Interior and bar table seating

Walking inside, the black-toned interior felt clean, with natural light coming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Four-person tables lined the walls, with two-person tables scattered in between, making it easy to seat any group size.

Groups were pushing several 4-person tables together, and the spacing between seats was generous enough that it never felt cramped.

There was also a bar table across from the kitchen that could seat about four people, which made solo dining feel completely comfortable.

I visited around 1pm on a weekday, and since it was past the lunch peak, there were several solo diners eating as well.

Fitting for a neighborhood full of offices, the restaurant also runs a corporate prepayment service, which gave the impression that a lot of office workers eat here regularly. The staff were friendly, making it easy to eat comfortably — a spot that works well for solo dining or an office lunch on a weekday.

## Menu and prices

Hunta Euljiro serves not just cutlet sets but also katsudon (cutlet rice bowls) and combo sets. Ordering was easy through the tableside kiosk, which shows photos of each menu item.

The set menu included a kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) set for ₩15,000, with a choice of loin or fillet. The cutlet sets (jeongsik) came in several options: loin (₩14,000), fillet (₩16,000), loin & fillet (₩17,000), sangdeungsim (premium loin), a mixed cutlet plate, and chicken cutlet (₩14,000).

The katsudon lineup was just as varied: katarosu (₩23,000), sangdeungsim, loin (₩16,000), and chicken cutlet don (₩16,000). Fillet or chicken cutlet could each be added for ₩4,000. I went with the loin & fillet cutlet set (₩17,000) and a zero-sugar cola (₩2,000). With such a wide menu, it was easy to pick something to my taste.

## Any wait at 1pm on a weekday?

I visited alone around 1pm on a weekday. There was no wait at all — I was seated right away. Since it was a bit past the lunch rush, there was only one group of about eight people and a handful of other diners.

## What comes with the loin & fillet cutlet set

After a short wait, the loin & fillet cutlet set arrived first. The set came with cutlet, rice, a light soup, salad, diced radish kimchi, scallion kimchi, and a variety of sauces.

It was my first time seeing scallion kimchi served with pork cutlet, which felt like a fresh touch. The cutlets themselves looked appetizing too — thick cuts of meat wrapped in a nicely proportioned layer of breading.

Beyond the standard cutlet sauce, there was wasabi, mustard, salt, kabosu pepper, and shichimi (Japanese seven-spice), so I could season each bite to my liking.

### Loin (rosu katsu)

I started with the loin, and true to being made with black pork, the texture was much more tender than I expected.

It was delicious with wasabi, and a light sprinkle of kabosu pepper added a fragrant twist that made for an interesting combination.

### Fillet (hire katsu)

The fillet looked juicy just from the cross-section, and tasting it confirmed it was even more tender and juicier than the loin.

It went well with both wasabi and the cutlet sauce, so I could enjoy it however I liked. The accompanying soup had a subtle peppery aroma, and sipping it between bites helped cut through the richness.

The salad came with a savory dressing, and personally, the scallion kimchi paired so well with the cutlet that it ended up being the most memorable part of the meal.

The portion was generous too — plenty even for an adult woman to feel full — and overall this struck me as a pork cutlet spot that delivers whether you're grabbing an office lunch or dining solo.

## Wrap-up

Hunta Euljiro is a great pork cutlet spot for weekday lunch, being close to both Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station and City Hall Station. The atmosphere made solo dining easy, and I was happy to enjoy the tender texture of black pork cutlets along with the variety of sauces. If you're looking for a favorite near Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, an office lunch spot near City Hall Station, or a good pork cutlet place for solo dining, it's worth a visit.
