Four adults and one baby ordered a large bossam, spicy octopus kalguksu for two, plain kalguksu for one and meat dumplings, and along with the unlimited barley rice the staff made a seaweed rice ball just for the baby. Daseon Kalguksu is already well known as a great-value spot near Gyodae Station, and it even has parking, which made me like it even more! Not many restaurants right in the middle of Gangnam offer free parking, right? Being able to visit without worrying about parking was such a plus haha. I visited with my baby, and they took such great care of her — I was so touched ㅜㅜ We ordered a bunch of different menu items to try, so let me go through each one in detail! Restaurants with parking are rare in Gangnam~ There's a parking lot right in front, so no need to worry about parking! ## Daytime drinks and evening set menus near Gyodae Station A 25-year-old original haejang (hangover) kalguksu restaurant with evening specials: the soju set for ₩73,000 with clam soup, bossam, and spicy octopus stir-fry, and the makgeolli set for ₩69,000 with conch chive salad, bossam, and assorted pancakes. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a drink in Gyodae in the evening. No break time here! Day drinking in Gyodae is possible! ## Two floors of seating for group and family meals There are two floors! I visited during an odd late-lunch slot on a weekend, and there were still quite a lot of people eating. Their main branch was famous in Suwon, and now they have one in Gyodae too! The broth is made from 8 kinds of ingredients — anchovies, seafood, and vegetables — and apparently boiled fresh every morning. Unlimited barley rice provided. When you buy bossam elsewhere, the portion is often disappointing for the price, but here the amount is really generous. The bossam here is seriously delicious!!!! It's so tender it just melts. I cut them up for the baby and she ate them so well!!! The broth is clear and clean, packed with clams, and not a single grain of sand in them, which was great. The noodles weren't soggy — chewy and springy, with a clean broth. The broth was so good I kept spooning it up. Whole octopus pieces went into it! Getting whole octopus like this at this price is actually a bargain — and there's a generous amount too. This is the portion for two, but ha ha ha, it's really a lot... it's like the 2-person portion of a typical kalguksu place equals a 3-person portion here. The broth is spicy and refreshing, perfect as a hangover cure. Great for haejang kalguksu! Loaded with clams and octopus, and the noodles here are really chewy and springy — so delicious. Eating the noodles and octopus together, then spooning up the broth — seriously amazing. Overall, the portions are generous haha — don't force yourself to finish, just pack the rest and enjoy it again at home~ Daseon Kalguksu, our Gyodae favorite for a family meal out!
