Have you all been to Starfield Goyang? It's seriously huge and there's so much to eat. Plenty of food inside the mall, and even more great restaurants right around it! Let me introduce the Samsong pork belly spot I always hit up whenever I'm at Starfield Goyang — Neopttakjip Samsong Branch. Prices are low but the aged pork belly is genuinely so good. If you're ever at Starfield Goyang, you have to try Neopttakjip Samsong Branch. Here's my honest review!

The weather's been so nice lately that they had the windows wide open, giving it real outdoor-BBQ vibes. No smell of meat lingering, just a cool breeze — perfect for enjoying pork belly at Neopttakjip on a day like this.

During peak mealtimes it gets busy, so there are waiting seats too. Heads up: there's no remote waitlist here — you have to show up and write your name on paper.

This is Neopttakjip Samsong's basic side dish spread. That yellow one is macaroni — but not the style you'd usually expect, it's curry-flavored and honestly amazing. So addictive, haha. Completely my style, I kept shoveling it in with a spoon, lol. The kimchi here — aged kimchi — is also really good.

Sesame oil, perilla powder, salt. They told us dipping the meat in this order — sesame oil, then perilla powder, then salt — tastes best.

## Private rooms, the self-serve bar and the mood inside Neopttakjip

I'd recommend Neopttakjip Samsong Branch as a room-style restaurant in Samsong. There are private rooms so you can enjoy your meal without anyone bothering you — great for a company dinner in Samsong too, or a family gathering, since the rooms make it easy.

This is the self-serve bar. Once you finish the side dishes they give you upfront, just help yourself to as much as you want here. Lettuce, peppers, garlic and ssamjang aren't set on the table by default, so grab them from the self-serve bar.

This is the inside of Neopttakjip Samsong Branch. The space is huge! And there are lots of tables. With the big windows wide open like this, it really feels like eating pork belly outdoors in Samsong — such a good mood. Outdoor-style pork belly on a nice day is just the best, right?

## What's in the ₩40,000 weekday lunch special?

I really recommend the Samsong lunch set. It's available on weekdays from 12–2pm, and the price-to-portion ratio is insane.

- Choice of one: snail doenjang stew / spicy sundubu / neopttak country cheonggukjang
- Choice of one: soju / beer / a soft drink
- All of this for ₩40,000!

Two people can come, eat their fill of meat, and be totally satisfied for ₩40,000 — that's amazing value. I'd recommend Neopttakjip Samsong as a Starfield-area restaurant and a lunch-set spot in Samsong.

Here's the Neopttakjip menu board. The mixed grill set is on the cheaper side — considering it comes with grilling vegetables too, it's a good deal.

We came as two and ordered two servings of pork belly, one serving of kkodeulsal, and two bowls of rice. Total: ₩50,000!!

### How to eat pork belly at Neopttakjip the tasty way

- Dip in sesame oil, then perilla powder, then salt
- Eat with pickled scallions and peppers
- Eat with garlic scape relish

I remembered this and tried eating it exactly this way, haha.

## Grilling two servings of pork belly and one of kkodeulsal

Our order came out: two servings of pork belly, one of kkodeulsal. It was plated so nicely, haha. I thought the portion would be small, but it turned out to be pretty generous! Each cut even comes labeled by name, haha.

They put the meat on the grill for us! We grill it ourselves from there.

Grill that meat up nicely — golden brown, looks so good. Loaded side dishes plus delicious meat... it looks so good it hurts, T.T

Once the meat's grilled just right, they move it onto a square plate in front of you so it stays warm.

## Sesame oil, perilla powder, salt dip and grilled aged kimchi

The way to taste Neopttakjip's meat at its absolute best! Dip in sesame oil, then perilla powder, then salt — try it and it's this incredible salty-savory flavor. So, so good~~~

The aged kimchi here is genuinely so good! It's tasty even on its own, but grilled in the meat's fat it's even better!!!!

Even just rice with grilled aged kimchi is delicious on its own. Rice, meat, and kimchi together? Pure bliss!

Eat it with the pickled pepper-and-scallion mix and the spicy, slightly bitter kick cuts through any greasiness from the meat completely — so good. Definitely try it together!

As you get toward the end of the meat, they add rice cake and sausage, which grill up golden brown for you. Crispy on the outside, so delicious~
