I love the nutty yet soft filling that is so distinctive to egg tarts, and I really enjoyed Fluffy Bake Shop’s egg tart too... I should have bought two, haha. I think anyone who likes financiers would enjoy the plain one! Whenever I spot one at a bake shop, I somehow always end up putting one in my order. It is small, but its distinctive texture and flavor give it a real presence among other baked treats. I chose one as soon as I spotted it at Fluffy Bake Shop too, and it was the kind of dessert I wanted to savor slowly with coffee. Its texture was different again from the egg tart and financiers, so I was glad I ordered several kinds together, haha. Lastly, I chose the lemon madeleine because I was craving something refreshing! Personally, I really liked having bites of lemon madeleine in between everything else that day. After enjoying the rich, nutty flavors of the financiers and canelé, the madeleine’s bright lemony note completely changed the mood :) The soft texture characteristic of a madeleine, plus the refreshing lemon flavor, made it delicious all the way to the end without becoming tiring. Next time, I definitely want to try the other madeleines that were sold out that day, haha. It was such a fun place for choosing several kinds and sharing them one by one.
