## In short

Joajukne Jjukkumi is a jjukkumi (baby octopus) restaurant in Jungnang, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from exit 3 of Sangbong Station at the entrance of the outdoor dining alley. Arriving at 9pm, the table ordered jjuksam (baby octopus with pork belly) for two at 16,900 won per person, plus extra glass noodles and a flying fish roe rice ball, all cooked by staff in under 10 minutes. The heat at Joajukne Jjukkumi comes from chili flakes rather than capsaicin, so it is a safe bet for anyone who loves spicy food.

## Where is Joajukne Jjukkumi near Sangbong Station?

Joajukne Jjukkumi is a 3-minute walk from exit 3 of Sangbong Station, right at the entrance of the outdoor dining alley in Sangbong. Have any of you been to Sangbong Station in Jungnang-gu? There's a whole food alley there that's packed with people at outdoor tables from summer onward. It's not just because of the season — those outdoor tables are basically always full haha. But going during this cool autumn weather made it even better.

This time I was craving jjukkumi (baby octopus) at the Sangbong outdoor tables, so I went to Joajukne Jjukkumi, a well-known jjukkumi spot near Sangbong Station.

Just so you know, that whole alley is outdoor seating hahaha. The vibe is amazing. This place is right at the entrance of the alley, so it's super easy to find!!! Especially since there are people packed in and out of the restaurant lol, you really can't miss it.

## Visiting at 9pm: are there still seats?

When I got to Joajukne Jjukkumi at 9pm, the outdoor tables were completely full and there were only two seats left inside lol T_T I snagged one of them lol. This really is a well-known jjukkumi spot near Sangbong Station. Here's a photo of the front of the restaurant — seriously packed inside and out T_T. It's clearly already a popular spot even among all the other places in the Sangbong outdoor dining alley. There are so many bars and restaurants in that alley, and this one still stands out lol.

There's a set menu introduction out front, and Joajukne's story is explained well too haha. Honestly, they only serve premium jjukkumi... so good, seriously. It's apparently an award-winning jjukkumi restaurant... officially certified as a great jjukkumi place near Sangbong Station.

This is a shot from the left side of the restaurant!!! Inside, there's a spot that's kind of like a terrace where a breeze comes through when the door opens, just like the outdoor tables haha. We sat there.

Here's a photo of the inside!!! Lots of people, right lol. Everyone's blurred out lol.

## Jjuksam for two and the price of add-ons

Joajukne Jjukkumi's menu has both set options and individual items!!! We went with the individual jjuksam for two (₩16,900 per person), added glass noodles, and also ordered a flying fish roe rice ball haha.

![Self-serve zone inside the restaurant where customers grab lettuce](https://img.superchart.com/images/joajukne-jjukkumi-sangbong-night-yajang/joajukne-jjukkumi-sangbong-night-yajang-05-8clff-832.webp)

Oh, there's also a self-serve zone inside, so you can grab extra lettuce and other greens yourself!!!!

![Side dishes of lettuce, garlic, and ranch sauce on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/joajukne-jjukkumi-sangbong-night-yajang/joajukne-jjukkumi-sangbong-night-yajang-06-1jeug-966.webp)

For side dishes, they gave us plenty of lettuce, garlic, ranch sauce, and flying fish roe haha. Really knows what they're doing T_T. You're supposed to add the flying fish roe when you eat the jjukkumi.

## How spicy is the jjuksam, and how does it taste?

The jjuksam arrived. The portion is pretty big!!!! It's for two people but I was really full haha. Just looking at the photo makes me hungry again lol. Baby octopus and pork belly!!! What's really convenient here is that the staff cook everything for you haha. It didn't even take 10 minutes to cook, and it looked fully done.

But if you like spicy jjukkumi, you have to come here. Highly recommend. You'll definitely love it. A flavor that can't miss. Though if you're bad with spicy food it might be a bit tough lol.

### Why the flying fish roe rice ball is a must if you are spice-shy

Next came the flying fish roe rice ball haha. They didn't hold back on the roe. If you're bad with spicy food, this is seriously a must lolll. My friend who came with me can't handle spice, so she kept eating this one. It has a slightly sweet taste that goes perfectly with the spicy jjukkumi!!!!!! Even though I can handle spice fine, it was just tasty so I ate a ton of it lol.

### Adding glass noodles to the jjuksam

This is what it looked like after adding the glass noodles. When you add this too, the staff put it in and cook it for you themselves haha. But do you see how plump the octopus is? That's a flavor that's really not capsaicin-spicy but more like chili flake heat that makes you crave more haha. If you like things like dakbal (spicy chicken feet), or if you regularly crave something spicy, I really recommend the jjukkumi here lol.

I couldn't help myself and ordered a drink too;; For reference, I regularly eat Buldak noodles, and this tastes like it's somewhere between Yeolla-myeon and Buldak spice level. Not spicy for me, just a pleasant kick. Really delicious ;;

## Chili flake powder and picking a dessert

Oh, there's also chili flake powder on the table lol. I tried a little and it's genuinely spicy, so if you can't handle spice, absolutely do not touch it lol. For dessert, you can choose one from three options including ice cream and hoddeok-nut stick (heotgae stick) — since we weren't heading to a second round, we picked the hoddeok-nut stick hahaha. The owner's sense of hospitality is no joke lol.

If you're looking for a great jjukkumi restaurant near Sangbong Station, I definitely recommend Joajukne Jjukkumi!!! The weather was so nice with a gentle breeze, and eating spicy jjukkumi with a cold beer really got my appetite going lolllll.
