I went to a Yeouido bar with a friend. It was an izakaya where you could try all sorts of dishes, including aged sashimi. It wasn't a private-room bar, but the space was divided up with partitions. And from the wide window seats, the Yeouido night view was really something.

## Where is Nani Yeouido Branch, and is there parking?

The place we visited was a Yeouido bar called Nani. It sits on the 3rd floor of the S-TRENUE Building, right in front of Exit 3 of Yeouido Station on Lines 5 and 9. Being so close to the station, there were tons of office workers stopping by for a quick drink on their way home.

Since this Yeouido bar Nani is inside a large building, you can use the building's basement parking lot, which seemed convenient. Also, since a lot of the big older buildings in Yeouido have restrooms that are, let's say, rough, I was curious about this one. It wasn't brand new, but it wasn't run-down either — the building restroom was pretty clean.

Each seat is separated like a booth, and you can even draw a curtain across it, so while it's not a private-room bar, you can still have a pretty private time. We sat by the window, which faced the Sinansan Line construction site. It doesn't look that pretty in photos, but sitting there watching the sun go down between the buildings had its own charm.

Here's the menu at Nani Yeouido Branch. This Yeouido location is actually the original branch, and apparently there's a second location at Yeongdeungpo Times Square. They were giving out yogurt ice cream as part of a review event. But since Yoajeong is about to run an event where you get a photocard if you order their TXT menu item, I figure I'll be ordering that constantly from now on — so the yogurt ice cream didn't really move me. Anyway, there were lots of menu options, but we ordered the small assorted sashimi platter and the yakisoba.

### How much is a highball and soju at Nani? ₩10,000 and ₩7,000

My friend ordered an Earl Grey highball and I ordered soju. The Earl Grey highball was ₩10,000, and the soju was ₩7,000 a bottle. Yeouido prices are no joke, haha. Since booze costs the same wherever you buy it, when the price is higher it kind of makes you drink less — it actually helped me cut back.

## Yakisoba for ₩29,000, piled with vegetables

The yakisoba came out as a side dish, priced at ₩29,000. If you're looking for a can't-go-wrong menu item at an izakaya, I think yakisoba might be the safest bet. It had a lot of different vegetables and a pretty generous portion. The seasoning was on the salty side, which made it feel exactly like a drinking-food dish.

Usually, okonomiyaki specialty places sell yakisoba too, but they tend not to load it up with as many vegetables. Here, though, there was a good variety. I love vegetables, so I was satisfied. Since we were basically there for dinner plus drinks, we needed something filling like noodles or rice.

My friend could've just clinked her highball against my drink, but no — she insisted I pour her some soju just so she could clink glasses with a soju cup. Thanks for the toast and all, but... after that whole production, she didn't even drink it, just stole it off my table. She's less a friend, more a soju thief at this point. Thanks to her, my drinking went down, so my liver was probably thrilled.

## What comes in the ₩60,000 small assorted sashimi platter?

Next up was the small assorted sashimi platter, priced at ₩60,000. They said the composition changes depending on what's available that day. The basics seemed to be large flounder, red seabream, and salmon. Each piece was sliced thick. Maybe it's just my imagination, but bars near fish markets do seem to have good-quality sashimi more often than not.

Since Yeouido is close to Noryangjin too, the quality felt good to me. Personally, I think sashimi at Noryangjin is the best there is. It's definitely not cheap, but I've never been let down by sashimi there. Honestly, though, sashimi might just be the best drinking food no matter when you eat it.

We wrapped things up pretty cleanly. It had been a while since I'd seen this friend, and apparently a lot of fun stuff had happened to her in the meantime. The stories themselves were fun, but with alcohol as fuel, they felt even funnier. Since it was a weekday, we called it a night at a reasonable point and headed home :)
