A window seat along the floor-to-ceiling glass was booked in advance for the signature couple set with the fajita option and an apple mango ade, and the meal came with free refills of nachos, sauces and tortillas, individually wrapped hygiene gloves and a spotless restroom. Today I visited [Taqueros], a Mexican restaurant near Magok Station on Line 5! It's super close to the station, a real transit-hub restaurant!! And since Traders and Seoul Botanic Park are nearby, it's perfect both for dates and family dinners. ## How to find Taqueros and where to park at GMG Tower It's on the 2nd floor of the Magok GMG Tower building! Go in through this entrance and head right, and you'll find the elevator. 🚗 If you're driving, I think it's more convenient to search "GMG Tower parking lot" on the map. But the moment you step off the elevator at Taqueros, boom!! You can see it right away, no wandering around needed. ## Inside Taqueros: the reserved window seat Stepping inside, an antique yet bold red color greeted me — exactly the vibe you'd picture for a taco place or Mexican restaurant in a movie, haha. I went during lunch hour, and it seems like people come here for company lunches too! I was surprised at how many group tables there were. All the seats were either sofa seating or had backs with cushioning, which I loved. These days a lot of chairs are hard or backless, which gets uncomfortable 😂 Since I had reserved ahead of time, there was a reserved sign already set out and I was assigned a window seat looking outside!! Floor-to-ceiling window view lovers, this is heaven..~~ There are two window seats and they're slightly separated, which made it even better, haha. Looking at the photos again, the woody, antique feel that's neither too bright nor too dark reminded me of a family restaurant — I think this would be a great spot for birthday parties or anniversary dinners too! ## Birthday and group gathering perks at Taqueros ![Sign about the free mini cheesecake for birthdays and work gatherings](https://img.superchart.com/images/takeros-magok-window-seat-couple-set/takeros-magok-window-seat-couple-set-06-933km-900.webp) On top of that, they give you a free mini cheesecake for birthdays or work gatherings, so if you're looking for a memorable spot near Magok, I recommend booking [Taqueros Magok Main Branch]!!! The tables had ketchup and sriracha sauce set out in full bottles. And there were plenty of napkins too, haha. Water wasn't self-serve — they brought us a bottle!! (So many places are self-serve these days.) That's probably why it felt even more like a family restaurant, haha. Rather than paying upfront, you order on your phone and then go pay at the counter after you finish eating! The review event could also be requested through this QR code. With a physical menu, it can be awkward for a group to look at together, and some menus don't even have pictures. But with QR ordering, everyone can view it on their own phone, which I think is much more convenient. And the sauces and tortillas that come with the [fajita] were also free to refill!! (Guacamole costs an extra ₩3,000.) ## Starter nachos and individually wrapped hygiene gloves First, nachos came out like a kind of pre-meal bread. They came with cheese sauce, and it was nice that the cheese sauce seemed to be warmed up too!! It also wasn't too strongly seasoned, which I liked even more. If it's too intense from the start you can't enjoy the meal properly, so it was perfect as an appetizer. It was lunchtime and I had plans afterward so I couldn't drink, but 🍺 I thought this would be perfect beer food 🍺. Oh, and when eating tacos and tortillas you basically have to use your 👋 hands, right? Well, true to a good Magok restaurant, they had individually wrapped hygiene gloves ready to go!!!! The mango concentrate was so intense — it tasted like that thick Del Monte mango juice mixed with carbonation!! Totally recommend it!! The fajita came with pulled pork, grilled chicken thigh, fried rice, shrimp, and spicy bulgogi! The sauces were cheese sauce, guacamole, tomato-onion marinade, sour sauce, jalapeños, and (a sauce I didn't quite recognize) haha. How's that for a 2-person set?! It was way more generous than I expected. And since the tortillas are free to refill later, and all the sauces except guacamole are free too, I got to scoop away as much as I wanted!! The staff explained the dishes, and since the tacos are fried, they recommended eating them first while hot and crispy! I tried that, and it really was extra crispy since it was just fried — so delicious.... There were vegetables too, so it kind of felt a bit like eating a salad, which really helped boost the appetite, haha. The chicken in the chicken taco tasted a bit like Southern-style fried chicken, almost Kentucky-style, and the salty flavor balanced perfectly with the vegetables — so good!!! The fish taco was also perfect with the tartar sauce!!! I'm a sauce-loving human, so I put every single sauce in mine, haha. There were also lollipops, but I wasn't sure if they were free service or if you had to do something to get one, so I just left, haha. (Extreme introvert here,,,) Oh, another great thing about Taqueros.. the elevator and restroom are right there as soon as you step out. This really matters when you're at a restaurant?!? And as someone who cares a lot about restroom cleanliness, I really have to give it to this place!!
