I wanted some delicious meat that day too, so while looking for a good place in Eungam-dong, I ended up visiting Yukjjip (육쯥). If you’re looking for a meat restaurant near Eungam Station, this is probably a place you may have heard of at least once. It’s by Bulgwangcheon Stream, so it was also nice for a stroll after the meal. Once the meat arrived, I immediately thought coming here for meat had been the right call. The pork belly had a lovely nutty richness once cooked, while pork neck is one of my personal favorite cuts for its clean flavor and satisfying chew. Gabrisal had a texture quite different from either pork belly or pork neck, so I was glad I had ordered all three together. Meat is always best while it’s hot, right? Cold beer does come to mind with grilled meat, but sometimes you want the atmosphere even on a day you’re not drinking, you know? So I chose the non-alcoholic version, and it paired nicely with the meat. Having a cold drink with pork belly made the meal feel even more enjoyable. There was also a soju and beer event running when I visited. Soju was ₩1,000 and beer was ₩2,000, which was a really good price. However, this was the event I saw during my visit, so it would be best to check whether it is still running before you go. This time, I ordered spicy soft tofu stew. A spoonful of spicy broth in between bites of meat felt like it freshened up my palate, so it went really well. The soft tofu made it easy to eat, and it worked nicely alongside the meat too. I also had yeolmu bibimbap—mixed rice with young radish greens. When you order bibimbap at a meat restaurant, it’s great for finishing the meal with rice after the meat.
