Located in the backstreets of Kkaebi Market near Deungchon Station, it's known mainly for its single-order platter of pork belly — even from outside you can tell it's a big place :)

## Inside Ggupdda: atmosphere and seating

We had booked ahead, so they gave us a comfortable spot. The whole restaurant is about twice the size shown in the photo above. It's quite spacious, with over 10 tables!

Round tables, square tables, and chairs with room to stash your coat. The layout also vents smoke well.

Tables are spaced well apart, and the large windows keep it from feeling cramped. I personally prefer this kind of clean, spacious BBQ place haha

![Wide view of Ggupdda's dining hall with large windows](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-05-1d3j7-900.webp)

You order via the kiosk at each table.

### 🐖 What is Duroc pork?

- A breed of pig
- Widely raised in the US and Europe
- Deep red meat color
- Good marbling (fat structure)
- Juicy with intense flavor

👉 In short: "premium pork with great juiciness and deep flavor"

### 🐖 What is Iberico pork?

- A native Spanish black pig breed
- Famously fed acorns in some cases
- Fat is soft with a nutty aroma
- Extremely tender texture

👉 In short: "nutty, tender Spanish black pig"

## Ggupdda's side dish spread and the cauldron-lid grill

The side dishes come set up like this. Lots of things to dip into, which I love — mustard sauce, ssamjang (dipping paste), salt, wasabi, and jeotgal (salted seafood).

The grill itself is a cauldron lid. Pork belly really should be cooked on a cauldron lid haha

![Cauldron-lid grill with minari, kimchi, and bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-07-1htxf-900.webp)

And to grill alongside the meat — plenty of minari (water dropwort), kimchi, bean sprouts! Really good combo...

## Minari pork belly, jowl and neck, 550g for 36,000 won: how much meat do you get?

Ggupdda's minari pork belly platter is ₩36,000, and the minari pork belly + neck platter is also ₩36,000. Based on 600g, that's a lot of meat!!

We ordered the minari pork belly + jowl + neck, 550g for ₩36,000, and it was basically enough for 3 people... Considering other places charge ₩16,000–18,000 for just 150g, this is genuinely cheap..!

![Ggupdda's meat platter with vegetables on the side](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-09-19ead-900.webp)

They also give you tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and scallion salad as a kind of palate cleanser/appetizer(?). They're really good at these side dishes... So tasty ㅠㅠ

Can you see the condition of the meat? Both the pork belly and jowl looked really solid. I love Iberico :)

They coat the grill with fat from the meat you brought over, then lay the meat down with a nice sizzle!

The meat was plump with a beautiful bright red color, I loved it lol. It also comes pre-seasoned with a bit of salt!

## Ggupdda's meljeot anchovy dip and the complimentary doenjang jjigae

And when you dip the meat, the umami explodes!!! That's the fermented anchovy sauce (myeoljeot). This stuff is magic... A little meat dipped in, then paired with doenjang jjigae and rice ㅠㅠ Total rice thief ♥

![Small dish of fermented anchovy dipping sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-13-1u1ta-900.webp)

The doenjang jjigae is really tasty too. I like mine mild and mixed with rice, and this one hits exactly that spot!! And at a rice-focused restaurant, the rice itself has to be good — it was cooked well and seemed to use quality rice haha (the doenjang jjigae currently seems to be complimentary).

![Complimentary doenjang jjigae with a bowl of rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-14-sp18s-966.webp)

Can you see the condition of the meat? Both the pork belly and jowl were delicious.

![Close-up of pork belly and jowl cooking](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-16-fbn89-900.webp)

## How to grill minari samgyeopsal in the right order

Once the meat's cooked to a certain point, the fat really starts rendering out — that's when!! You add the bean sprouts and kimchi on top.

Once the meat is fully cooked, cover it with minari and let it wilt slightly before eating. The minari fragrance is amazing, but if you cook it too long it gets tough!! Cook it just enough.

Eat it right around this point. You can even feel the fragrance through the photo haha

I dipped mine in my favorite myeoljeot :) And on the right is the jowl meat — eaten together with kimchi and minari... absolutely amazing!!

### The best bites to combine at Ggupdda

- Minari + meat + pickled perilla leaves
- Minari + meat + perilla leaves + radish wrap + kimchi

Pop this in your mouth, then add a spoonful of rice soaked in doenjang jjigae — pure heaven ♥

## Bibim mak-guksu for 6,000 won, and the no-cucumber option

Ggupdda's bibim mak-guksu (spicy buckwheat noodles) is ₩6,000. There's also a cold broth version and janchi guksu (noodle soup), and thoughtfully, there's a no-cucumber option for those who hate cucumber haha

![A bowl of Ggupdda's bibim mak-guksu](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-20-espdr-966.webp)

![Freshly mixed bibim mak-guksu noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-21-lcu1p-900.webp)

![Noodles served alongside the grilled meat spread](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-22-17ain-900.webp)

The mixing sauce is delicious, and it's got a bit of cold noodle broth mixed in, so it mixes really well. Highly recommend this one ♥

Eating the noodles alongside the meat is, literally, a perfect match.

Any side dishes running low get topped up at the self-serve bar. The owner kept refilling the self-serve bar and wiping up spills — I really appreciated that.

## ✅ Taste and meat quality at Ggupdda

![A plate of well-grilled pork belly and jowl](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-23-h0xfv-966.webp)

On this recent visit, both the pork belly and jowl had great meat quality and vivid flavor — very satisfying. The minari-and-pork-belly combo in particular was clean and nutty, and I kept reaching for more. The side dishes were varied and each one was delicious, making the whole thing great value for money.

## 🍖 Atmosphere and service

![Comfortable interior atmosphere at Ggupdda](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal/kkupda-deungchon-mineri-samgyeopsal-24-12hsp-1200.webp)

The interior isn't overly busy, with a comfortable atmosphere that works well for friends, family, or a drink after work. The owner and staff were friendly, which added to the overall satisfaction.

## Final verdict: is Ggupdda worth a return visit?

- Great value cauldron-lid restaurant with quality meat
- Naver Reservation and Onnuri gift certificates accepted
- Spacious, clean, and friendly
- Side dishes are consistently delicious
- 100% would return
- 100% would recommend
