Today I'm sharing my review of Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch, which I visited when I was craving something spicy. I found the place while looking for somewhere to eat near the Woojeong Human Resources Development Institute in Cheonan, and I ended up having a proper feast — jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) pork belly, seafood pancake, jjukkumi fried dumplings, and finally fried rice. The parking lot was spacious and the interior was pleasant, so I could eat comfortably. If you're looking for a jjukkumi restaurant in Yuryang-dong, this might be worth checking out. Let me introduce Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch right away~

## Where is Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang Branch, and where do you park?

Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch is located in Yuryang-dong, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, near the Woojeong Human Resources Development Institute. Given the location, I'd recommend driving rather than using public transit. That said, there's a large dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so parking wasn't a worry.

When space is tight at a restaurant's parking lot, it can be a bit stressful, but here I could park comfortably right in front. That mattered especially for a family meal or a group visit, where easy parking is a real plus. Just a note — after finishing your meal, staff ask you to move your car so the next guests can use the lot.

![Interior of Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch with generous table spacing](https://img.superchart.com/images/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon-04-zd5vl-900.webp)

## Inside Bulnaneun Jjukkumi: seating and table spacing

Once inside, the interior of Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch was bigger than I expected. Tables were spaced out generously, so we weren't crammed right up against the next table and could eat comfortably. The overall atmosphere was clean and pleasant, and there were tables big enough for larger groups, making it a good option for family meals or gatherings.

When you're eating something with red sauce like jjukkumi, you can't help but worry about splattering it on your clothes. Bulnaneun Jjukkumi has aprons on hand, so I could eat without worrying about stains.

### Self-serve banchan bar and tablet ordering

The basic side dishes are set out on the table first, and if you need more, you can help yourself at the self-serve bar. It had a good variety to go with jjukkumi, including cold seaweed soup, bean sprouts, cheongyang chili, garlic, radish salad and mixed greens.

You don't need to flag down staff to order — each table has its own tablet. It was convenient to browse the menu at your own pace and order right away.

## Menu, spice levels and what we ordered

Looking through the menu, there was a wide range of main dishes — jjukkumi stir-fry, jjukkumi pork belly, jjukkumi hot plate, and more. The jjukkumi dishes come in three spice levels — mild, medium, and hot — so you can pick based on your tolerance. There was also a set menu that includes hot pot rice with jjukkumi pork belly, but since we planned to finish with fried rice anyway, we ordered à la carte. Keep in mind that each dish and spice level requires a minimum of two servings, and you can't add just one more serving after your first order, so double-check quantities when you order.

The side menu was more varied than I expected too — seafood pancake, whole fried squid, king prawn tempura, pork cutlet, dumplings, even cheese balls.

- Jjukkumi pork belly (medium), 2 servings – ₩34,000
- Seafood pancake – ₩17,000
- Jjukkumi fried dumplings – ₩6,000
- Fried rice, 2 servings – ₩6,000
- Zero-sugar cider – ₩2,000

### Side dishes served with the meal

After ordering, the basic side dishes came out first. We got lettuce wraps, pickled radish, bean sprouts, radish salad, mixed greens, garlic and chili, along with a refreshing cold seaweed soup. There were plenty of banchan (side dishes) that paired well with jjukkumi, so it was fun mixing and matching. Anything running low could be topped up freely from the self-serve bar.

## How does the medium jjukkumi pork belly taste?

![Medium-spice jjukkumi pork belly with bean sprouts and onion](https://img.superchart.com/images/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon-12-mglxc-900.webp)
*Jjukkumi pork belly (medium)*

Finally, the star dish — jjukkumi pork belly! It arrived piled high with red-sauced octopus and pork belly, plus bean sprouts and onions. Best of all, everything came fully cooked haha — no waiting around cooking it at the table, we could dig in the moment it landed. The jjukkumi itself wasn't small or chewy — it was plump and bouncy, with a really satisfying bite. The pork belly came mixed with bean sprouts and onion, and it paired really well with the jjukkumi.

We went with medium spice, and it wasn't too harsh — just pleasantly spicy. Wrapping the jjukkumi and pork belly in lettuce, or eating it with bean sprouts, gave it a different flavor each time. Since you can pick your own spice level, this is a good option even if you're worried about heat while hunting for jjukkumi in Cheonan.

## Seafood pancake and jjukkumi fried dumplings

![Seafood pancake filling the entire plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon-13-x9sxh-900.webp)
*Seafood pancake*

Here's the seafood pancake we ordered alongside the jjukkumi. It nearly filled the entire large plate, so the portion was more generous than I expected. The outside was golden and properly crisp, and the inside was packed with squid, shrimp and other seafood. The crispy edges were especially good. Alternating between the spicy jjukkumi pork belly and the pancake worked really well. If you like crispy pancakes, it's worth ordering as a side.

![Bite-sized fried jjukkumi dumplings](https://img.superchart.com/images/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon-14-n1tt8-900.webp)
*Jjukkumi fried dumplings*

Next up, jjukkumi fried dumplings! Instead of the usual big fried dumplings, these came in bite-sized pieces. They looked crispy just from the golden-brown color, and they really were — crunchy on the outside. The small size made them easy to pop one at a time, and they were a nice light addition alongside the jjukkumi pork belly.

## Finishing with fried rice

![Fried rice stir-fried in leftover jjukkumi sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon/bulnaneun-jjukkumi-yuryang-samgyeop-pajeon-15-b30uk-900.webp)
*Fried rice*

If you've had jjukkumi, you have to finish with fried rice 😊 They stir-fry rice, seaweed flakes and vegetables into the leftover jjukkumi sauce, and honestly, that's how a stir-fried dish like this should end. The rice was evenly coated in the spicy sauce, and we could still pick up bits of leftover jjukkumi and pork belly mixed in — really good. Even though we were already pretty full from the pork belly, pancake and dumplings, the fried rice kept going down easily. We finished off every last bit of it :)

## Who Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang Branch suits best

Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch has a large dedicated parking lot right out front, making it easy to visit by car, and the spacious interior with generous table spacing made for a comfortable meal. I also liked that aprons and a self-serve bar were available, plus tablet ordering made things easy. Most of all, the jjukkumi was plump and bouncy with great texture, and being able to choose from mild, medium or hot spice was a nice touch.

It was also great that the jjukkumi pork belly came fully cooked and ready to eat right away, and the side dishes — crispy seafood pancake packed with seafood, and bite-sized jjukkumi fried dumplings — were satisfying too. Finishing with fried rice made for a really filling meal! If you're looking for somewhere to eat near the Woojeong Human Resources Development Institute, or hunting for a jjukkumi restaurant in Yuryang-dong, it's worth trying the jjukkumi pork belly and sides at Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Yuryang branch :)
