## Where is Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung Station Branch?

Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung Station Branch is located at 58 Giheung-ro, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, on basement level 2 of ICT Valley Building B. It's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00 and last orders at 14:00 and 20:00. Parking is available in the underground lot, and there's a restroom inside the building.

Today, after watching a movie at Giheung Station CGV, I was trying to figure out what to eat and ended up at Deungchon Kalguksu, a well-known shabu-shabu spot near Giheung-gu Office, haha! When it comes to shabu-shabu, Deungchon is the name that comes to mind.

## Basement level 2 at ICT Valley: a short walk from the Giheung Station CGV

I found the Deungchon Kalguksu spot pretty easily haha. It's on basement level 2, so it's perfect for grabbing a meal right after a CGV movie. Parking is free too, so it's easy to visit by car.

The place is also quite clean, and the tables are spaced far enough apart that it's easy for families to visit, haha. In fact, a lot of families were there.

When you think of Deungchon Kalguksu, spicy mushroom kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) is the one to get. This time, since there were two of us, we ordered spicy mushroom kalguksu along with an extra 190g of shabu beef.

The kimchi at Deungchon Kalguksu is really good too, haha. Just the right flavor to go with kalguksu!

Just eating the basic vegetables felt like it wasn't quite enough, so we added the 190g shabu beef. The shabu-shabu meat is sliced thin, so it cooks quickly once you dip it into the boiling broth.

Spicy mushroom kalguksu really is the signature dish here, haha. The pot comes loaded with minari (water dropwort), mushrooms, and potatoes, and once the spicy broth starts bubbling away, your appetite just kicks right in. If you're a fan of minari especially, it's hard not to love this combination.

Order the mushroom kalguksu and you get dumplings, extra noodles, and even fried rice as a set~~! A truly filling combination.

## How to cook and eat the 190g shabu beef

For the 190g shabu beef at Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung Station Branch, cooking it just lightly rather than too long makes it more tender and tastier. Picking up a bite of minari together with a piece of beef and dipping it in the sauce is genuinely delicious. With tender beef in that spicy, tangy broth, the fun of eating shabu-shabu really comes alive.

On top of that, eating it together with vegetables makes it feel much lighter than eating beef alone, so you just keep reaching for more.

## When to add the kalguksu noodles and dumplings

Once you've had enough of the meat and vegetables, it's time to add the kalguksu noodles. By this point, the broth has deepened in flavor from simmering with the mushrooms, minari, and beef. Add the noodles and let them cook, and they soak up that spicy broth perfectly. Chewy kalguksu noodles eaten together with the mushrooms and minari is a real delicacy!!

The fluffy potatoes are seriously amazing... Popping a dumpling in your mouth while eating the noodles really ramps up how filling the meal feels. By the time you've gone through shabu-shabu, noodles, and dumplings, you're starting to feel pretty stuffed lol.

## Finishing with egg fried rice and a free yogurt

Honestly... it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say people come to Deungchon Kalguksu just for this fried rice lol. Why is this fried rice so good? It's fluffy egg fried rice, nothing fancy really, but it's fried so well in the oil that every single grain feels alive. Why is egg fried rice this good!!!!!!!!!!

After all that spicy broth, eating the savory fried rice feels like the perfect finish lol. And scraping up the bits that got slightly crispy at the bottom of the pot is especially satisfying. It's not just shabu-shabu — with vegetables, beef, noodles, dumplings, and fried rice, it really felt like a full, proper meal.

And to finish it off, a yogurt on the house~! The staff were super kind, the food was really tasty, and the restaurant was clean — honestly there's no reason not to go to this Yongin shabu-shabu favorite, haha. Deungchon Kalguksu seems like a chain you really can't go wrong with, wherever or whenever you visit!! If you want shabu-shabu and kalguksu together near Giheung-gu Office in Yongin, Deungchon Kalguksu is definitely the first thing that comes to mind! I recommend Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung branch.
