After driving over from Cheongna in search of gyeongyangsik donkatsu, the writer ordered the gyeongyangsik cutlet and the assorted platter of cheese, tenderloin and sirloin, and found that rice, side dishes and even the standard curry came with unlimited refills. You know how hard it is these days to find a good old-fashioned gyeongyangsik donkatsu place, haha. I'm more of a crispy Japanese-style donkatsu person myself, but my husband is a huge fan of the old-school Western cutlet drenched in sauce. There aren't really any good gyeongyangsik donkatsu spots in Cheongna, so we made the trip all the way to Geomdan, haha. The interior looks exactly like those restaurants I went to as a kid! I really loved the antique atmosphere. Instead of the same white-and-wood-tone interiors every restaurant seems to have these days, this was a much more distinctive lunch spot at Geomdan Intersection. It's the best-selling menu item at Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan, and comes with two big cutlets. Served neatly on a tray, it really captures that old-restaurant feeling, right? It had been a while since I craved donkatsu with exactly this kind of feel. With the mayonnaise sauce added on top, this gyeongyangsik donkatsu had a really creamy flavor. I think the sauce is the most important part of gyeongyangsik donkatsu, and this one was so good! ## What comes on the assorted donkatsu platter: cheese, tenderloin, sirloin This is the assorted donkatsu I ordered at Gyeomson Donkatsu. Along with Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan's signature sauce, it also comes with wasabi and pink salt :) ## Unlimited rice, side dish and curry refills at Gyeomson Donkatsu One thing that really makes Gyeomson Donkatsu such good value as a Geomdan Intersection lunch spot is that both rice and side dishes are unlimited refills.
