My husband and I had a big, satisfying lunch in Seomyeon over the weekend, but weirdly my mouth still felt a bit empty afterward. Haha.

There's always a separate stomach for snacks, right? I was craving something sweet and nutty when a yellow sign caught my eye from far away! Getting closer, I saw a new specialty shop called Daeshin Peanut Bread.

The character and name felt familiar, and looking closer I realized it was that famous peanut bread I once queued up for at Daegu's Seomun Market. Back then it was so nutty and sweet that I kept thinking about it afterward, but Daegu was too far to go back for, so I always felt a bit wistful.

So finding a branch right here in Seomyeon, Busan, was such a happy surprise. I practically ran over to the storefront.

### Mixing the 80-piece box into 65 peanut breads + 1 egg bread

We ordered the ₩10,000 box of 80, and since I also wanted to try the egg bread, I asked if they could mix it. They kindly said yes, so we got it mixed (1 egg bread, 65 peanut breads). Being able to enjoy such a generous amount for just ₩10,000 was amazing value!

I was impressed by the thoughtful note saying they can bake it without peanuts for anyone with a peanut allergy or who avoids nuts. On the shelf inside the store, they also display handmade peanut butter made with no additives, in both creamy and crunchy types so you can pick your favorite.

## How did the freshly baked peanut bread and egg bread taste

Looking into the display case, it was full of golden-brown peanut bread and plump egg bread. The sweet, nutty smell of baking bread wafted through the glass, making my mouth water while we waited!

First, we tried the freshly baked, still-warm egg bread. Inside the thick, fluffy dough was a whole fresh egg, generously filled in.

With one bite, the slightly sweet outside and the mild, savory egg inside burst out together, and the sweet-salty balance was absolutely perfect. It's filling enough to eat as a meal, and delicious.

Next, we tried the peanut bread I'd been so looking forward to. Picking one up and taking a bite, the outside was crisp while the inside stayed soft and chewy.

Maybe because of the house-made dough, there was no raw-flour smell or dryness at all — just a gentle sweetness that kept me reaching for more. Inside, well-roasted whole peanuts crunched with every bite, releasing a rich, nutty flavor throughout my mouth. It's not greasy but light and clean, a flavor anyone, young or old, could enjoy.

## How to store leftover peanut bread and reheating tips

There was a helpful notice posted at the front of the display case with tips for enjoying the peanut bread and egg bread even better, so I read it closely. It said leftover peanut bread can be stored in the freezer and eaten cold as an iced peanut bread treat!

For reheating, it recommends microwaving at 700W for 40–50 seconds or 1000W for 30–40 seconds, then letting it cool for at least a minute so the outside crisps up nicely. If using an air fryer, preheat to 180°C and heat for 50–60 seconds, then let it sit at room temperature for at least a minute to bring back that freshly baked crunch.
