Lush green plants spill across the front of the window, and the posters on the glass make Concasse's blend of hanok and Italian dining clear from the doorway. From the round-cut glass window to the brass handle and a slit that looks like a mailbox, none of the details felt ordinary. The sign engraved “CONCASSE ANGUK” and the soft orange light above it give off such an upscale feel. Apparently, concasse itself refers to a technique of peeling and finely chopping tomatoes, and the tomatoes really were completely peeled, giving them such a clean texture. It was tangy, so having some between the other dishes felt like refreshing my palate. Steak sits inside the layered pastry, and the meat was incredibly tender; even eaten with the pastry, nothing felt disconnected. The sauce was slightly salty, but dipping it with the potato purée made the seasoning just right. A layer of perilla leaf was tucked around the meat, and its aroma suddenly came through amid the richness of the pastry. Concasse’s vongole uses squid-ink pasta, which seems to set the familiar dish apart with a visual twist! The two pastas had completely different vibes, so ordering them together did not feel repetitive at all. ## Restroom and parking The restroom is inside the restaurant and was kept clean. Because this is a hanok-dense area in central Seoul, parking was a little disappointing.
