## In short

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is a Southern Italian restaurant near Seoul Forest in Seongdong, Seoul. We had the ₩22,000 aligot cheese lasagna and ₩25,000 Polpo Mambo on the terrace; compared with the Haebangchon branch, this lasagna felt moister and saucier. Verdict: order the cheese lasagna for a Seoul Forest date.

The weather had gotten nicer, so my friend and I decided to head into Seoul. While looking for something to eat, we found Billadeubeulleu Seongsu..!

I’d actually visited Billadeubeulleu in Haebangchon before, and I remembered it being seriously delicious. So the second I noticed there was a Seongsu branch, I strongly suggested it to my friend haha. Once again, I came away very satisfied~

And of course, the aligot cheese lasagna that comes to mind when you think of Billadeubeulleu was as good as ever..♥ Since I’ve had it at both the Haebangchon and Seongsu branches, I’m also going to compare the subtle differences below!

## Billadeubeulleu Seongsu visit information near Seoul Forest

- 46-10 Seoul Forest 2-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea (서울 성동구 서울숲2길 46-10 1층)
- 11:00–21:00 / closed Mondays
- Break time 15:30–17:00
- No dedicated parking in the building → public transit recommended
- Reservations for up to 6 people / call for parties of 7 or more
- Pets are welcome when basic pet-friendly rules are followed

I made a reservation in advance through Naver Booking. It wasn’t packed because it was a weekday, but I’d still recommend reserving if you want a particular seat! They also apparently offer a 10% discount for pregnant guests or wedding-invitation gatherings, so if that applies to you, it seems best to book ahead!

## A white-and-blue exterior that brings Greece to mind

![White-and-blue exterior of Billadeubeulleu Seongsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-02-lp7db-900.webp)

![Billadeubeulleu Seongsu exterior with a Greek-resort feel](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-03-160ef-900.webp)

The exterior was totally my style from the start. The white-and-blue combination gave it an instant Greek-resort feel! There are terrace seats out front, and since we’d come out to enjoy the nice weather, I immediately went, “Terrace weather these days~” and picked them haha.

On a cool day with a gentle breeze like lately, it seems perfect for eating outside. There are pretty brick buildings in front and trees planted to one side, so even though it’s in the city, it felt more like a Greek getaway than I expected. A nice Seoul Forest date course could be a walk followed by a meal here!

![Terrace seating in front of Billadeubeulleu Seongsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-04-12di6-900.webp)

![Terrace space near the Seoul Forest walking path](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-05-djycn-900.webp)

Because it’s by Seoul Forest, there were lots of adorable doggies♥ out walking nearby. Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is pet-friendly, so you can visit with your pet as long as you follow the basic rules. That feels like a pretty great point if you’re looking for a restaurant near Seoul Forest to visit with a pet!

And right from the entrance, you spot Billadeubeulleu’s signature aligot cheese lasagna! It was displayed in big letters on the sign, too.

![Entrance with an aligot cheese lasagna sign](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-06-6xyi4-900.webp)

If outside was all about enjoying the soft breeze, inside had a more comfortable, cozy atmosphere. The space itself is fairly roomy, so it looked good not only for meals with friends but for gatherings too.

There was space for larger groups, plus four-person tables accented with blue tiles. It seems like it could work for a Seoul Forest company dinner or small gathering, but also for an occasion where you want a little atmosphere, like a date, blind date, or family meal. There are 28 indoor seats and 26 terrace seats. I imagine the terrace gets quite popular in good spring and fall weather!

## QR ordering and a varied menu

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu serves a broad range of Southern Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, steak, polpo, and salads. It works well from brunch through lunch and dinner, and with wine, beer, cocktails, and coffee available, it’s good for a light drink as well as a meal.

Its standout dish is, of course, the aligot cheese lasagna! The steak and Polpo Mambo, an octopus dish, are also well known.

![QR menu for ordering from the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-10-hey65-900.webp)

You scan the Catchtable QR code and order right from your seat. It was convenient to order immediately without needing to call over a staff member! There’s also a full menu board outside, so I recommend giving it a quick look before going in.

What we ordered!! Aligot cheese lasagna for ₩22,000 and Polpo Mambo for ₩25,000.

While we waited, they set the table with blue-and-white tableware too haha. True to the name Billadeubeulleu, the colors were coordinated throughout and looked lovely. A sip of water, and~ let’s properly dig in.

## Polpo Mambo, with romesco sauce as the key

![Polpo Mambo with romesco sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-14-ey7qh-900.webp)

🐙 Polpo Mambo ₩25,000. The first dish out was the ₩25,000 Polpo Mambo! It’s a tender Mediterranean-style octopus dish served with romesco sauce, potatoes, and peas.

Something I noticed when I ate at the Haebangchon branch before, too: the romesco sauce here is seriously good. It’s smooth with a slight kick, so it doesn’t feel heavy with the octopus or potatoes. It’s the kind of flavor that makes you scrape up every last bit of sauce!? Haha.

This time, the octopus at the Seongsu branch was a little chewier than at Haebangchon. Not tough at all—just pleasantly springy and tender to chew! Both branches had easy-to-chew octopus, but there was a slight textural difference. And maybe it’s because I’m potato-obsessed, but I also loved that there were lots of potatoes...

![Romesco sauce and potatoes](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-16-1wkuw-900.webp)

![Potatoes and sauce served with Polpo Mambo](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-17-td0hu-900.webp)

Potatoes + romesco sauce simply cannot be bad ㅠㅠ I don’t normally go out of my way to eat peas, but with this sauce, I kept scooping those up too haha.

![Polpo Mambo with romesco sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-18-gp8if-662.webp)

The Polpo Mambo is about the octopus, sure, but the romesco sauce is really the point!

## Aligot cheese lasagna poured right before your eyes

🧀 Aligot cheese lasagna ₩22,000. And then, the long-awaited aligot cheese lasagna!!! At ₩22,000, the price is pretty decent too~ And this really... you absolutely have to get it. Because that aligot cheese is insanely delicious.

Aligot is a smooth cheese made by melting mozzarella and blending in potato, and honestly, this place could be called a great aligot spot. Plus, here’s the fun part! They don’t simply place the aligot on top—they lift it up and pour it over like a waterfall right in front of you. A definite visual treat.

![Lasagna before the aligot cheese is added](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-19-akczb-900.webp)

Even before they poured it, it looked so pretty that I took a photo first~ They don’t only pour on the aligot cheese: first they add a layer of snow cheese, then pour the aligot over that.

So the snow cheese melts softly too, creating layers and layers of cheese. That glossy look, that stretchy cheeese! This is the signature dish..

![Lasagna topped with snow cheese and aligot cheese](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-20-wqm7d-900.webp)

![Stretchy aligot cheese lasagna](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-21-ysfsc-900.webp)

And because I’m a cheese-loving person, I even scooped up and ate the cheese by itself. Lasagna + cheese is delicious, but the aligot itself is so good that I just kept eating it.

![A slice of lasagna with aligot cheese](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-22-1gf6b-900.webp)

Between the layers of lasagna were generous bits of ragù sauce and meat, and personally, the Seongsu branch’s lasagna felt a little moister and saucier than the Haebangchon branch.

![Moist lasagna with ragù sauce and meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-23-1h93m-900.webp)

## The taste differences between the Haebangchon and Seongsu branches

When I had the Haebangchon branch before, my strongest memory was simply, “Wow, delicious!” haha. But eating at Seongsu this time, I could taste the moist, sauce-forward character of the lasagna more clearly. Both are delicious—just with slightly different feels!

- Polpo Mambo: the Haebangchon branch’s octopus felt softer, while the Seongsu branch had a more noticeably pleasant chew
- Aligot cheese lasagna: my memory of Haebangchon was simply “delicious!”, while Seongsu felt moister and saucier

But it’s not that one is definitely better than the other—there are just slight differences in texture and moistness! Both were delicious haha. I went to Seongsu expecting a lot because I remembered enjoying Haebangchon so much, and it was every bit as tasty as I hoped.

![Table after a Seoul Forest date meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu/seoulforest-cheese-lasagna-villadebleu-24-ze0x4-900.webp)

Another very happy date haha. If you’re looking for an atmospheric Western-style restaurant near Seoul Forest, I recommend Billadeubeulleu Seongsu! Definitely try the signature aligot cheese lasagna, and if you like octopus, order the Polpo Mambo alongside it!

From Seoul Forest dates to company dinners and get-togethers with friends, it has brunch dishes too, so it would be a good visit when you’re looking for brunch near Seoul Forest. With lots of Western dishes like pasta and steak, I’d also recommend it to anyone looking for pasta around Seoul Forest! More than anything, I was happy to meet again in Seongsu a place I’d enjoyed in Haebangchon before haha. I’ll have to go again next time I’m hanging out in Seongsu.. haha.
