## In short

Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao is a lamb skewer and Chinese restaurant on the second floor of World Tower 3 on Chaekhyanggi-ro in Unjeong, Paju, Gyeonggi. For her son's birthday, the writer's family ordered lamb skewers and lamb rib meat skewers along with four Chinese dishes — ganjjajang (noodles with black bean sauce), mapo tofu rice, jaengban jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle platter) and a small tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) — and received stir-fried bean sprouts free. Even with one family member who does not like lamb, the Chinese menu made Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao an easy, satisfying group meal.

## Why the family chose Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao for a birthday dinner in Unjeong

While looking for a good restaurant in Unjeong, we ended up at Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao for a family dinner. My son, whose birthday it was, loves lamb, so that's why we chose it — but I was a little worried since I'm honestly not a big fan of lamb myself.

Turns out this place serves a wide range of Chinese dishes alongside the lamb skewers, so everyone in the family could eat according to their taste. There were plenty of other families dining there too, so it seemed like a solid pick for a family dinner in Unjeong.

## Is parking easy at Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao in Paju?

![Driving into the World Tower 3 building parking lot](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-03-1q81g-966.webp)

We drove there. Since the building is full of hagwons (private academies), I worried parking might be tight, but on a Saturday evening there was more space than I expected.

![Basement parking lot with parking guide signage](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-04-98w40-820.webp)

The parking lot is on basement levels 1–2, with up to 3 hours allowed — plenty of time for dinner. We took the elevator up to the second floor, and the doors opened right onto Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao, so it was easy to find.

## Almost full on Saturday evening, with zhacai at the self-serve bar

![Interior of the restaurant, nearly full on Saturday evening](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-05-920cw-824.webp)

Being Saturday evening, the restaurant was nearly full. There happened to be two empty tables, and staff said they'd clean them up, so we looked around while waiting.

At the self-serve bar, the pickled radish (jjajangmyeon-style) immediately caught my eye — haha, I love that stuff. There was also muchim radish and sliced onion, plus small plates, tongs, and scissors all neatly set out.

On one wall there were photos of celebrities who'd visited, though I only recognized Cho Yeong-gu, haha.

## A self-rotating lamb skewer grill, seen for the first time

Once seated, we ordered lamb skewers. This was basically my first time at a lamb skewer restaurant, so I noticed something fascinating right away.

> The skewers rotate automatically as they grill!

We all sat there watching the skewers spin round and round for quite a while, haha.

We ordered lamb skewers and lamb rib meat skewers first. And since I'm not much of a lamb person, we also ordered plenty of Chinese dishes:

- Ganjjajang (black bean noodles)
- Mapo tofu rice
- Jaengban jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle platter)
- Small tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)

Pretty generous spread for a family dinner, right? 😆

## Ganjjajang with a smoky wok char

After a short wait, the charcoal came out first. Our hungry family quickly put the skewers on the grill. While the meat cooked, the first dish arrived: ganjjajang!

![Ganjjajang served with noodles and sauce separately](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-07-c3781-966.webp)

We poured the black bean sauce over the noodles and mixed it up — there was a subtle smoky flavor, and the crunch of the onions was nice too.

I didn't expect much from a Chinese dish at a lamb skewer restaurant, but it was better than expected — very satisfying.

## Mapo tofu rice, the birthday boy's favourite

![The second dish, mapo tofu rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-09-10qq8-966.webp)

The second dish was mapo tofu rice. My son ate it with such a happy expression, saying it was really delicious, haha.

Seeing him enjoy it so much on his birthday made me weirdly proud.

## Jaengban jjamppong loaded with seafood

Third up was jaengban jjamppong. The glossy presentation looked appetizing right away, and it was loaded with plump shrimp, squid, mussels, and more.

The seasoning wasn't too intense, and the seafood had a great chewy texture — good for sharing as a family.

## Small tangsuyuk full of wood ear mushrooms

![Small tangsuyuk served dip-style](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-13-1rs7g-966.webp)

The last Chinese dish was the small tangsuyuk, served dip-style with the sauce on the side.

But honestly, I was more drawn to the pile of wood ear mushrooms on top of the sauce than the tangsuyuk itself. 😂

I love wood ear mushrooms so much that just looking at them made me happy. The tangsuyuk meat was plump and appetizing too — I really liked that we could enjoy such a variety of Chinese dishes here.

## The lamb skewers finally cooked, and her son's verdict

And finally, the lamb skewers we'd been waiting and waiting for were done. I used tongs to pull the meat off the skewers onto small plates so it was easy to eat. My son took a bite and immediately said:

> "The juices burst out when you chew, and the meaty aroma is amazing."

Coming from my son, who loves lamb, that verdict felt extra trustworthy, haha.

Lamb needs to be grilled slowly, so waiting while hungry was a bit tough, but once the skewers were perfectly cooked, it was worth the wait.

## Free stir-fried bean sprouts on the side

![Free side of stir-fried bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-17-1q119-966.webp)

While we were eating the meat, a plate of stir-fried bean sprouts suddenly showed up. Turns out it was on the house!

We tried the bean sprouts with the lamb, and the crunchy texture was excellent. "Why doesn't it taste this good when we make it at home?" we all said while devouring it, haha. We ended up polishing it off completely. 😆

## A Naver receipt review earns a Fanta

Near the end of the meal, I wrote a Naver receipt review. Since we were seated at two four-person tables pushed together, and a group had just arrived and was waiting, my son urged me to hurry up and get up, haha. We cleared the table and I finished the review while my husband was paying.

What we got in return was a Fanta Orange! We drank it cold in the car on the way home, haha.

## Why Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao satisfied the whole family

This visit to Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao was for my son's birthday dinner, and overall it was a satisfying experience.

![Full spread of the family dinner](https://img.superchart.com/images/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese/unjeong-family-dinner-lamb-skewers-chinese-19-3w75i-966.webp)

Even though I'm not really a fan of lamb, I appreciated that the restaurant didn't have a strong lamb smell inside. Most of all, being able to order Chinese dishes like ganjjajang, mapo tofu rice, jaengban jjamppong, and tangsuyuk alongside the lamb skewers made it easy for the whole family to visit together.

The owner and staff were kind, and my son said it was a very satisfying meal.

> My son says he'd 100% come back!

If you're looking for a family dinner spot in Unjeong that works whether your family loves lamb skewers or has members who aren't so keen on lamb, this place is worth a visit.
