It's inside Jumunjin Fish Market. I went on a Gangneung trip this week!! Gangneung has such a pretty sea and so much good food that I always end up agonizing over what to eat haha. And there's one food you can't skip on a Gangneung trip, right?? Sashimi!!!!!!! I actually used to not be great with sashimi... because of the texture, I never really understood why people ate it. But then one day I happened to try flounder sashimi with yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi) together, and... it was seriously soooo good lol. That's when I suddenly got into sashimi haha. Especially once I got into flounder sashimi, I started seeking it out every time I traveled. Sure, going straight to a sashimi restaurant while traveling is nice, but there's also something special about showering, relaxing, and having sashimi with a shot of soju back at your room lol. So I went with takeout without a second thought haha. ### What comes with it: cooler bag, ice packs, lettuce wraps and sauces What I really loved was how carefully they packed everything. They put the sashimi in a cooler bag with an ice pack so it wouldn't spoil. When you're traveling around, you can worry about food going bad during transit, but having the ice pack included put my mind at ease. And inside the package, they included everything I needed without missing a thing — lettuce wraps, chojang (vinegar chili sauce), soy sauce, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste). My heart was racing... The sashimi was arranged so neatly that just looking at it made me want to dig in right away. Maybe because it was sashimi eaten at an accommodation while traveling, it somehow looked even more appetizing than usual lol. And here's another thing I loved!! They also gave us other seafood as a free service!! I picked up a piece of Minja Hoetjip's flounder sashimi, dipped it in chojang, and tried it... well... the taste really speaks for itself lol. The sashimi felt chewy yet distinctly fresh. Personally, when sashimi feels too fishy or mushy, I can't really eat it, but that day there was none of that and it was delicious. It was tasty with a piece on a lettuce wrap with a touch of chojang, and it was also tasty dipped in soy sauce! I guess sashimi really does taste a little different depending on how you eat it haha. Maybe because I traveled all the way to Gangneung and was eating sashimi near the sea, it somehow felt even fresher and really captured the travel mood. ## Worth it if you want sashimi at your Gangneung accommodation? Since I got it to go this time, the packaging was neat and they included all the sauces and vegetables I needed, so I could eat comfortably. If you're planning to eat at a hotel or accommodation, I think it's worth considering takeout when you're looking for a Jumunjin sashimi restaurant! We sat comfortably at the accommodation eating sashimi, talking about this Gangneung trip and chatting about this and that, and time flew by haha. Eating good food while traveling is one of life's happinesses, right lol. Getting to properly eat sashimi here in Gangneung this time made me feel like my trip was complete. It's funny to me too that someone who used to not be great with sashimi is now the type to seek it out first whenever I travel lol.
