Today I'm introducing Minimale Coffee Roaster Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town Branch, a great spot to enjoy coffee and baked goods together. You can choose from their own roasted beans to suit your taste, and the bread selection is more varied than expected — I came in just for coffee and ended up having dessert too. The staff were also really kind, which made the visit even more memorable. Let's get into the review!

Minimale Coffee Roaster Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town Branch is located on the first floor of Gwacheon E-Tower. Since it's in Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town, an area with lots of new buildings, it looked like a great spot for nearby office workers to grab a quick coffee or enjoy dessert after a meal.

You can use the building's basement parking, and with a generous 3 hours of parking support, it was convenient to visit by car too.

The interior had plenty of seating, and it was nice to relax with a cup of coffee while looking out at the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

If you visit during the day when the sunlight comes in well, I think you can really feel Minimale's unique atmosphere.

## Bakery display case and beans/drip bags

In front of the counter, a variety of baked goods were displayed so you could see them all at once.

The bakery had light options like salt bread and egg tarts. With such a variety of baked goods, it seemed like many people order them as dessert after a meal nearby, or enjoy coffee and dessert together at the office.

The salt bread looked delicious so I grabbed one — the butter flavor wasn't overpowering, just subtly present, so it was light and tasty.

You could choose between the Balance signature blend and the Dunkel dark blend, and cold brew and drip bags were also available. If you try it in the café and it suits your taste, it might be worth buying the beans separately, and the drip bags were nicely packaged, making them a good gift for coffee lovers too.

### Balance vs Dunkel — how do you pick your Americano bean?

The Americano let you choose between two beans, Balance and Dunkel. Balance is a refreshing signature blend with tropical fruit acidity and peach sweetness. Dunkel is apparently a richer dark blend with nutty flavors and a subtle sugarcane sweetness. If you like coffee with acidity, go with Balance; if you like nutty and heavy coffee, Dunkel is the way to go.

### Butter salt bread

The salt bread had a soft, moist texture. Butter was inside, spreading a subtle nutty flavor. That said, the butter flavor wasn't too heavy or greasy. The bread wasn't dry so it was tasty on its own, but it went best with coffee.

### Portuguese-style egg tart

The egg tart was Portuguese-style, so the layers were visibly flaky and crisp on the outside, with the egg filling filling about half the tart. Crisp outside, moist inside 🩵 The filling was nutty without any of that eggy fishy smell, and it wasn't too sweet, so it was really delicious! The price is good too, so I think I'll be buying this often.

If the egg tart is a soft, sweet dessert, the salt bread is nutty and salty, so alternating between the two was also a good combo.

Underneath the scone was strawberry jam and whipped cream in just the right ratio. The tangy-sweet strawberry jam combined with the soft cream made it pleasantly sweet, and I kept reaching for more haha. The scone wasn't dry either — it was moist and soft, so I'd totally recommend it to anyone craving something sweet!!
