Ttukbaegi-e Dameun Italia is a pasta and wood-fired pizza restaurant in Yangji-eup, Yongin, Gyeonggi. A season salad, pane cream pasta, and rose bacon calzone were ordered, and the ttukbaegi (Korean stone pot) tableware kept the cream sauce and cheese-stuffed calzone warm until the last bite. ## Ttukbaegi and Italy? A Yangji pasta spot whose name had me curious from the start

I'd heard there were plenty of hidden gems around Yangji in Yongin, but this place grabbed my attention with its name alone. It's a pasta restaurant combining two words that seem like they shouldn't go together at all — 'ttukbaegi' (Korean stone pot), the soul of hearty Korean cooking, and 'Italia.' Korean stone pot meets Italian cuisine? I was curious and excited before I even walked in, wondering what kind of food would actually come out.

Stepping through the door, a warm and cozy atmosphere welcomed me. It matched the relaxed suburban feel of Yangji perfectly, making it a great spot for a drive date or a comfortable family meal.

### No need to stress about parking if you're driving

Parking is one of the most stressful parts of eating out when you drive, especially on weekends or during peak meal times when you can end up sweating over finding a spot. Here, you really don't need to worry at all.

The outdoor lot right in front of the building is spacious enough that even new drivers can park without much pressure. And if the outdoor spots happen to be full, there's an in-building parking lot as backup. Just grab your license plate number or parking ticket when you pay and free parking is fully covered, so you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace without feeling rushed. It's a genuinely convenient place to drive to.

## A modern space with generous table spacing

My first impression walking in was: this place is really clean and pleasant.

At a lot of popular restaurants these days, tables are packed so close together that you can hear every word from the next table, or it's hard to even move around. Here, though, the tables are spaced out generously, which I really appreciated. It's the kind of layout where you can focus entirely on your own conversation without worrying about other diners.

The interior is equally clean-lined, modern, and stylish. White tones and calm colors come together for a bright yet warm feel, and both the tables and the floor were spotless.

### Ordering via tablet at the table

Every table has its own tablet kiosk, which made ordering really easy and convenient.

No need to flag down staff or wait around — you can take your time scrolling through the menu at your own pace. Each item comes with an appetizing photo and detailed description, so it was easy to know what I was getting before ordering.

## A large wood-fired oven inside the restaurant

Glancing toward the right side of the restaurant, a big wood-fired oven immediately catches your eye — can you spot it?

That oven is where freshly baked, piping-hot pizzas come out as soon as they're ordered. Rather than just tossing pizzas in a regular oven, having a proper large wood-fired oven built right into the restaurant was genuinely impressive. Just seeing it sitting there indoors gave off serious 'this place knows what it's doing' energy.

Watching the pizzas bake from a distance in that intense heat was fun to watch, and the faint, savory smell of dough drifting through the air had me drooling the whole time I waited. Baked in a wood oven, the crust comes out crisp on the outside and chewy inside, with that distinct smoky flavor soaked in — I decided pizza here is just as much a must-try as the pasta.

There's also a range available on one side, along with extra tableware.

## Handmade pickles and a coffee self-bar

And here's the cheat code of this place that absolutely deserves a mention — the delicious handmade pickles!

None of that artificial sourness or mushy texture you get from store-bought canned pickles — I could tell from the first bite that these were made in-house with real care. Crunchy texture, mildly sweet-and-sour without being harsh, they were the perfect palate cleanser between bites of pasta or pizza. They were so good my hand kept reaching for more.

On another side of the restaurant, there's a neat self-serve bar where you can help yourself to these pickles and some fragrant coffee. Being able to refill on pickles as much as you want without hesitation was great, and getting to brew a warm cup of coffee before or after the meal felt like a really thoughtful touch.

## Wood-fired-warmed bread and balsamic glaze before the meal

Before the main dishes arrive, some appetite-whetting bread comes out first.

Usually pre-meal bread is either pre-baked or roughly warmed in a microwave, but here, they don't cut corners even on a single piece of bread. It's cut into bite-sized pieces and, once an order comes in, warmed fresh in the wood oven and brought to the table piping hot. Touching it, you could feel the fresh-baked warmth radiating off it — crisp outside, chewy and moist inside. Absolutely delicious.

There's another clever touch here: the sauce. Instead of the usual olive oil and thin balsamic vinegar combo, they drizzle a thick, sweet balsamic glaze generously over the bread.

Rather than tangy, it leans toward a gentle sweetness and rich flavor that pairs fantastically with the plain bread — one bite and a pleasant sweetness spread through my whole mouth.

![Pane cream pasta with generous sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-yangji-pasta-bbane-cream-ttukbaegi-italia/yongin-yangji-pasta-bbane-cream-ttukbaegi-italia-11-1hk87-900.webp)

![Season salad ordered alongside the mains](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-yangji-pasta-bbane-cream-ttukbaegi-italia/yongin-yangji-pasta-bbane-cream-ttukbaegi-italia-12-1wjr1-900.webp)

## Pane cream pasta, generous sauce right to the last bite

Finally, the long-awaited main dishes filled the table one by one. We went all in this time, ordering a fresh season salad, the signature-feeling pane cream pasta, and the rose bacon calzone.

Honestly, I'd had my eye on the pork neck steak before the visit and really wanted to try it, but unfortunately the ingredients weren't ready that day, so I had to save it for next time. I felt a bit disappointed, but the moment the other dishes arrived looking so appetizing, that disappointment melted right away.

Fitting the restaurant's name, the dishes come out in ttukbaegi-material tableware instead of regular plates, which felt really distinctive. These clearly hold heat far better than regular ceramic or pasta bowls, and I loved how the food stayed warm throughout the whole meal.

What really impressed me was the pane cream pasta. Usually with pane pasta, the bread soaks up all the cream as you eat, so the sauce runs out quickly or turns dry. Here, though, they poured on a really generous amount of sauce, so it stayed moist all the way to the end. Thanks to the ttukbaegi's strong heat retention, that generous cream sauce stayed simmering and warm to the very end, so every piece of bread dipped in tasted as rich as if it had just been made.

## Rose bacon calzone: pasta and wood-fired bread on one plate

This was the dish I was most curious and excited about this whole meal — the 'calzone.'

It was described as letting you enjoy pasta and pizza in one combination, an unusual visual you don't often see at other Western restaurants, so I dove in with a mix of curiosity and anticipation. On one plate, a generous, thick rose bacon pasta comes as the base, with a large, golden-brown wood-fired bread served alongside.

At first I thought it was just a puffed-up dough, like a gonggal-ppang (hollow puffed bread). But the moment I carefully cut into it with a knife, I was genuinely surprised. It wasn't a regular round pizza — the inside of the bread was packed completely full of savory cheese! The instant the knife went in, cheese came pouring out, and I couldn't help but let out a gasp.

Baked at high heat in the restaurant's large wood-fired oven, the outside of the bread was crackly and crisp, and with every bite, a clean smoky flavor and savory aroma lingered in my mouth. Crisp and chewy dough on the outside, soft and salty cheese loaded on the inside — it was perfect on its own.

On top of that, adding the spicy-sweet, creamy rose sauce generously over it made for an absolutely perfect match. The moment we tasted it, everyone at the table agreed: 'We were so right to order this!' It got the highest praise from the whole group. If you visit this place, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

> A delicious plot twist of ttukbaegi meets Italy! With overflowing pane sauce and a cheese-packed calzone, this Yangji spot has me at a 200% chance of returning.
