Parents of multiple kids will get this — trying to pick a restaurant that satisfies three kids with totally different tastes plus my husband who's dieting is seriously hard. But there's one dish everyone in my family welcomes with open arms, no complaints: soft, chewy jokbal (braised pig's trotter)!

## Is the dining room comfortable with three kids?

Walking into Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch, the modern black-and-warm-wood interior gave an overall clean, tidy impression.

There was none of the usual chaos or greasy floor feel you get at meat restaurants — every table was well kept, which made it easy to settle in comfortably with the kids.

Inside there were about 6 round tables, a nice cozy setup for sitting together as a family.

With hours running from 11:30am straight through the evening with no break time, it's also great for visiting with kids at those in-between hours.

## Is one Large jokbal enough for a family of five?

On the right side of the menu, a bold label stating 100% domestic fresh trotter gave me real confidence in the food. Today's pick from me (Kangsam) was the most basic, signature item: freshly boiled warm jokbal, Large.

Honestly, my family are pretty light eaters, so with 2 adults and three growing kids — five in total — I really wondered how much to order. Would one Large be a bit short? Would Extra Large be too much? Since we'd be snacking later and it was an early dinner, we went with the Large freshly boiled warm jokbal.

## The side dishes and bean sprout soup

Once we ordered, the basic table setting arrived — the side dish bowls fit perfectly into a square tray like custom-made slots, very neatly arranged.

There was a generous spread of crunchy, sweetish dried radish, napa cabbage kimchi, sharp garlic, fresh lettuce and perilla leaves, cucumber, carrot, and pepper sticks.

The bean sprout soup that came as a default side was especially clutch — a subtle pepper aroma with a cool, salty flavor that soothed the stomach even before the jokbal arrived!

Lean meat, tender collagen-rich skin, and bone pieces good for picking up and gnawing on were all piled generously — the visual alone had me drooling.

Even for our light-eating family of five having an early dinner, the Large freshly boiled warm jokbal alone was genuinely enough to fill everyone up!
