## In short

Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch is a gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) restaurant in the Attijone wing of Avenue France in Gwanggyo, Suwon, Gyeonggi. Remembering how good the sirloin gyukatsu tasted on a first visit, the writer came back and ordered two sirloin gyukatsu, melting butter on the personal tabletop grill to sear each slice and topping it with wasabi. With 4 hours of parking support in the Avenue France building, this repeat visit to Gyuen-dang was easy to reach by car.

Gyuen-dang, where the sirloin gyukatsu was so good on my last visit! This time I was at Gwanggyo Avenue France wondering what to eat, and ended up going back again lol.

![Cross-section of sirloin gyukatsu with thin breading](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-02-yp1ui-966.webp)

Thin, crispy coating outside and juicy sirloin inside — but I think the biggest draw of Gyuen-dang's gyukatsu is melting butter in the tabletop grill and searing it yourself. The set meal comes out neat and tidy, and parking at Avenue France is easy, so it's a good spot for a Gwanggyo date or a family meal out!

## Where is Gyuen-dang in Avenue France, and how does parking work?

Gyuen-dang, this Japanese restaurant near Gwanggyo Jungang Station, is in the Attijone section of Avenue France Gwanggyo. It's across from the e-Pyeonhansesang apartments, so it's not too hard to find even inside Avenue France. It's also walkable from Gwanggyo Jungang Station, so it's a good spot to stop by while on a date.

I came by car this time and it was convenient being able to use the Avenue France building parking lot. If you give the staff your license plate after eating, you get 4 hours of parking support, which gives you plenty of time to browse Avenue France or head to a nearby café afterward haha. I found the parking convenient last time too, and it's still a plus on this second visit!

## Inside Gyuen-dang: Japanese-style interior and seating

![Interior of Gyuen-dang with wood tones and warm lighting](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-06-eh263-966.webp)

The moment you walk into Gyuen-dang, it feels like an actual Japanese restaurant in Japan. Warm lighting mixed with wood tones throughout gives it a cozy feel! With the personal grills for cooking your own gyukatsu, it felt a bit more like a date than just a regular meal haha.

![Table seating at Gyuen-dang with a tabletop grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-07-cbful-966.webp)

![Interior seating at Gyuen-dang with spaced-out tables](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-08-1ion0-966.webp)

There's a good amount of seating further inside, and I liked that the tables weren't cramped together. When I went, there was a mix of couples and families with kids. Weekend peak hours can get busy, so if you don't want to wait, I'd recommend booking through Naver first!

![Waitlist registration kiosk at the entrance of Gyuen-dang](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-09-1n5bg-966.webp)

There's a waitlist kiosk near the entrance, so if there's a wait, you can just register there.

## What is on the menu at Gyuen-dang?

![Menu board showing Gyuen-dang's gyukatsu and other mains](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-10-12s7q-966.webp)

Gyuen-dang's signature dish is of course gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet)! There are two options — tenderloin gyukatsu and sirloin gyukatsu — plus a variety of other mains. Brie cheese omurice, hamburg steak omurice, steki rice bowl, tsukune rice bowl, potato curry — there were quite a few other dishes I wanted to try besides the gyukatsu.

![Side dishes and instructions for eating gyukatsu at Gyuen-dang](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-11-1jwf7-966.webp)

For sides there was fried squid tempura and fried chicken skin, and each table has detailed instructions on how to eat the gyukatsu best, so you can just follow along haha. Since I remembered the sirloin gyukatsu being so good last time, I ordered sirloin gyukatsu for both of us again this time.

## Sirloin gyukatsu set and butter grilling on the tabletop stove

![Full sirloin gyukatsu set meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-12-1qj92-966.webp)

The sirloin gyukatsu set came out looking neat and tidy.

![Gyukatsu served with rice, soup, and cabbage salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-13-by2ec-966.webp)

![Dipping sauce plate served with the gyukatsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-14-1u06t-966.webp)

The gyukatsu comes with rice, soup, cabbage salad, and a dipping sauce — a well-rounded, filling meal!

![Cross-section of the rare sirloin gyukatsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-15-rfqog-966.webp)

Looking at the cross-section of the gyukatsu first, the inside comes out a deep red, rare state. The breading isn't thick, just a thin coating, so the outside is crispy while you can still really taste the sirloin itself.

![Gyukatsu placed on the personal grill with butter](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-16-1w99l-966.webp)

And with Gyuen-dang, you don't just eat the gyukatsu as it comes out — the fun part is grilling it yourself on the personal burner to your own taste. I melted plenty of the butter that comes with the dish in the burner, then placed each piece of gyukatsu on to cook. This butter is seriously important...!

![Sirloin gyukatsu searing in melted butter on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-17-14l23-966.webp)

When the juices from the gyukatsu meet the rich, nutty flavor of the butter, the savoriness gets way deeper than if you just ate it plain. Searing both sides lightly crisps the breading back up while the sirloin inside stays moist and tender — a proper crispy-outside, juicy-inside texture.

![A piece of sirloin gyukatsu seared on both sides](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-18-5pas2-966.webp)

![Cross-section of the gyukatsu after grilling, crispy outside and juicy inside](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-19-wy1ay-966.webp)

Being sirloin, there's a real meaty bite to it that's still tender, not tough, and as you chew, the savory juices come out along with that deep beefy aroma. Add the butter on top of that and it's a total explosion of savoriness..♡

![Sirloin gyukatsu topped with wasabi](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-20-vw3av-966.webp)

![A bite of gyukatsu eaten together with rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-21-11k2k-966.webp)

It's delicious plain, but I really recommend adding a bit of wasabi here and there too! The sharp bite of the wasabi cuts through the sirloin's rich fattiness so it stays light even as you keep eating. It also pairs great with a bite of rice, and munching on the crunchy cabbage salad in between hits the spot too!

## Was the second visit to Gyuen-dang worth it?

![Finished sirloin gyukatsu set at Gyuen-dang](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit/gyuendang-gwanggyo-sirloin-gyukatsu-revisit-22-fc5vn-966.webp)

I liked it so much the first time that I came back to Gyuen-dang in Gwanggyo a second time! I went with sirloin gyukatsu again, and it was a can't-go-wrong choice as always haha. Thin, crispy breading, juicy tender sirloin inside, and searing it in butter myself made the savoriness truly next level. There's the fun of grilling it to your own taste, and it all comes out as a neat, well-composed set meal — satisfying!

Above all, the 4-hour parking support at the Avenue France building made it easy to visit by car, and it's close to Gwanggyo Jungang Station too, so it's a solid pick for a date or family meal. If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant near Gwanggyo Jungang Station or a gyukatsu spot at Avenue France, I recommend Gyuen-dang♡
