Hi everyone~ it's Joy :) I'm back with a review of the dessert that's blowing up on SNS lately — fruit mochi! Haha, these are seriously giant fruit mochi~ Here's my review of Tareudang, a dessert spot on Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju!

## Where Tareudang is, plus hours and parking

Tareudang is a fruit mochi and tart dessert shop at 49 Sajeong-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju. It's open daily from 11:00 to 19:00, and may close early once they sell out of ingredients. It was open as usual even during the Chuseok holiday.

Such a cute storefront with that pop of orange! The owner was busy making mochi when I got there. Watching whole pieces of fresh fruit get tucked inside made it look seriously delicious~

The mochi were all so prettily wrapped that I wanted to buy one of every flavor, but since I was out sightseeing I only got as much as I could eat. Next time I'll have to try the other flavors too.

## Tareudang menu and prices

Tareudang's menu splits into three categories: fruit mochi, tarts, and persimmon sando. Fruit mochi run from ₩5,000 to ₩7,500, and tarts start at ₩3,500.

Fruit mochi — 30 minutes at room temp (2–3 hours with a cold pack); refrigerate and eat the same day recommended
Persimmon sando — 30 minutes at room temp (2–3 hours with a cold pack); refrigerate up to 3 days, freeze up to 1 year

The cold-pack option costs ₩1,000. If you write a Naver photo review, they'll give you a free box and cooler bag, so definitely grab one if you'll be out and about for a while after buying.

Mochi wrapped in cute hanji paper haha. Since it's become known as a top mochi spot, plenty of customers were buying even on a weekday! Right after I showed up, suddenly even more people arrived...!!! Hehe

Right after checking into Lahan Hotel, I popped the mochi in the fridge and opened them up once I got a little peckish! This was my first time trying fruit mochi so I was so excited... haha, quick hands!

### How big is a Tareudang fruit mochi?

Did they look small to you...? For a woman, my hands are actually pretty big — not many women have bigger hands than mine (seriously). But this thing is the size of my whole palm. Huge!!! They call it the Hwangnam giant mochi, and honestly, I get it.

### What the peach yogurt mochi tastes like

The peach yogurt mochi has half a whole peach tucked inside. I loved how the fruit filled my mouth completely. The peach in mine was a soft, juicy variety, and the Earl Grey yogurt cream was so good too. It's low-sugar, so even people who aren't big on sweets could probably enjoy it. The rice cake was chewy too — I get why this place is trending right now.

### What the gold kiwi mochi tastes like

The gold kiwi mochi also has a whole kiwi packed inside, plus red bean, and the combination was genuinely great. Take one bite and the juice just~~~~~ bursts out. This one was the winner for both me and my husband.

If you've been debating what sweet dessert to try on your Gyeongju trip, I really recommend Tareudang on Hwangnidang-gil — home of these seriously giant fresh fruit mochi!
