For our 100-day trip, my partner, Bori, and I enjoyed a spacious spa room, pools, and free shared amenities for ₩89,000 a night. But I think this place we visited for our 100-day anniversary trip could solve all those worries. Luna Beach Seonjae, a pet-friendly pension on Seonjae-do, has it all in one go. Usually, accommodations are missing at least one thing, aren’t they? But this one really had everything. I was so excitedly taking photos that my partner cracked up at my expression. > My partner: “Are you that happy?” Me: “Yeah, I love it. It’s such a good-value place to stay.” My partner: “Me too~ The condition of the place is seriously better than I expected.” ## A date stop we made on Seonjae-do It would have been a little disappointing to only stay at the accommodation, right? On the way home, we also visited Mokseom Island on Seonjae-do. My partner’s white terrier, Bori, was so excited—when else do you get to walk along a sea path? ## What was the spa room like? I thought maybe they made it wide so neither people nor dogs would feel cooped up? There was a soft, wide, clean bed and a West Sea ocean view. Because it sits on higher ground, the tidal flats were not in view. You can even see the sea beautifully from the spa, right? Straight ahead, the forest was dense too, so we could enjoy both an ocean view and a forest view. We used it around sunset, and it could not have been a more romantic time. Just note that dogs cannot go into the spa with you. The bathroom was clean too. You do need to wash everything before checking out. There was a large table for four to six people, a big vanity, a sofa, and a generously sized refrigerator—everything was there. My partner and I arrived a little early, so we spent some hot time together until sunset. The sunset from the room was beautiful, just as you would expect on the West Coast. Shorter adults should bring a life jacket or float too. Neither my partner nor I are huge swimmers, so we passed. We did not go in, but there was also a space to rest out of the sun after swimming. At ₩89,000 a night, aren’t the perks already impressive? ## Barbecue facilities and our evening in the room Please read and follow the barbecue rules. Disposable plates, chopsticks, spoons, paper cups, tongs, scissors, pots, pans, a microwave, and an air fryer were all provided free. But washing up after using them is basic manners, right? We kept our trip simple, so we did not have barbecue, but many people were asking staff to light charcoal from 7 PM. Bori, my partner’s dog, also happily ate beef, chicken, and rice inside. ## A lawn for dogs to run around on Beyond the large indoor space, Luna Beach Seonjae, a pet-friendly pension near Daebu-do, had a lawn where dogs could run around. Bori ran her heart out and looked so happy—look at that smile. Compared with cramped rooms or pet-friendly pensions with nowhere to run, it is a huge difference, right? At ₩89,000, there was more than one thing that impressed me. ## Karaoke, billiards, and an unmanned store ### Karaoke available until 10 PM Karaoke was also available in the shared facilities until 10 PM. My partner said, “Karaoke is free—let’s go have fun~” but I said, “No, I have a long drive tomorrow too. It was unmanned, so you chose what you wanted and sent payment. ## Free pet and travel essentials One especially touching thing for people looking for a pet-friendly pension on Seonjae-do was how many items were provided free. There were pet pads and deodorizer too. I was amazed at the thoughtfulness toward even people who forgot to bring something. Dog bowls were ready, and there was a large dryer so dogs that used the pool could dry off. There were also plenty of free items for people: emergency medical supplies, mosquito repellent, and insecticide were there to use. They are the things that can be awkward when you need them urgently and do not have them, right? If I had to mention one, it would be the roughly 15 seconds it took for hot water to come out. To my partner and me, Luna Beach Seonjae, a pet-friendly pension near Daebu-do, felt like a hybrid hotel-pension: unlike many ordinary pensions that can be a little inconvenient or untidy, it was hotel-clean and well equipped with amenities. If you are looking for a pet-friendly pension on Seonjae-do or Daebu-do, visit like we did.
