## In short

Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch is a Korean restaurant in Boradong, Yongin, Gyeonggi, serving pufferfish-broth seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) alongside stir-fried octopus. A weekday lunch visit with a baby brought a kalguksu-octopus set for 15,000 won (2 servings), octopus stir-fry for 13,000 won, king meat dumplings for 7,000 won, and free baby rice, plus on-site parking and a kids' zone with utensils and dessert. The noodles weren't especially chewy, but the broth was refreshing enough for a great hangover cure.

2026.9.8

Found myself dragging through another hangover today. Went to my mom's over the weekend and drank way too much, ugh. Today I wanted something with clear broth and rice, and while looking I found this Yongin, Boradong restaurant: Yubok Kalguksu! I'll explain why I ended up here as I go along.

## My criteria for picking a restaurant with a baby: parking and a high chair

Ever since we had our baby, places without decent parking have become really hard to visit, ugh. So parking is always priority one when I'm restaurant hunting! There's luggage, there's a baby to get out of the car — can't ignore it. Priority two is probably the high chair. Though honestly, a booster seat can cover that, so I can be a little flexible there haha. Most places these days seem to have a baby chair anyway.

Yubok Kalguksu has its own parking spots right beside the restaurant, plus a shared lot out front that it uses with other businesses. I imagine it could get a bit crowded on weekends though.

## The weekday lunch atmosphere

The place was really spacious, with group tables and plenty of seating further inside. We visited a bit past the weekday lunch rush and there were still lots of people out eating with their parents. And honestly, the menu is exactly the kind of thing older generations love. Octopus with kalguksu? Impossible to resist.

## What we ordered and how much it cost

The Yubok Kalguksu menu! There's a plain kalguksu option, but the octopus reviews were so good. So we went with the set that lets you try everything —

- Kalguksu-octopus set, ₩15,000 (2 servings)
- Octopus stir-fry, ₩13,000
- King meat dumplings, ₩7,000
- Free baby rice

That's what we ordered! My husband and I both eat a lot and love trying a bit of everything.

Ordering is done via tablet at each table, from order all the way to payment. There's also a cash option, so you can pay after your meal on your way out. Oh, and Toss pay is available too, if you want to pay after eating.

### There's free baby rice

The free baby rice comes with sesame oil and furikake sprinkled on top — the kalguksu could probably work too, but rice is just different, mm-mm. Found another kid-friendly restaurant, love it. The self-serve bar even has kids' spoons and forks.

## What's in the kalguksu-octopus set, and how it tasted

You get clams, mussel-like sea squirts (omandungi), oysters, and vegetables to cook into the kalguksu, plus barley rice to mix with the stir-fried octopus as part of the set — and the portion is generous, more than you'd expect from a 'set.' Mixing in the radish salad too made it even better, nice and crunchy! Honestly, I liked the octopus even more than the kalguksu!! I'm basically declaring this a top octopus spot in Yongin (who asked, lol). The sauce had this sweet edge that really woke up my appetite, which magically made the kalguksu taste even better too.

Once the kalguksu arrives, you add in the seafood that came with it and boil it for 3 minutes using the hourglass timer before eating.

![A bite of kalguksu with kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-bora-dong-kalguksu-jjukkumi-baby-meal/yongin-bora-dong-kalguksu-jjukkumi-baby-meal-13-rlb45-900.webp)

One bite of kalguksu wrapped in kimchi, then a bite of the octopus bibimbap — ahh, this is what a carb party feels like. Full-on dopamine, 🎉🎉

They say the broth is made with pufferfish, which somehow made it taste even better haha.

### How was it for a hangover?

The kalguksu was definitely refreshing thanks to all the shellfish! They say the noodles are handmade, but honestly they weren't that especially chewy haha... Still, seeing a staff member carry in a sack of flour made me feel like this place takes it seriously, so I ate it all up. But the broth was genuinely so refreshing, perfect for a hangover haha. I'm hungover literally every day, ugh.

## Dumplings and seafood chive pancake

Next came the dumplings and seafood chive pancake. We really ordered a ton, lol. The seafood chive pancake was completely my style — no flour batter, more like a fritter! This is the kind of taste that makes you think of beer haha. My husband really loved the dumplings. He said the pepper aroma set it apart a bit from store-bought king dumplings, and ate them all by himself haha.

We really cleaned every plate.

## There's even a dessert zone

There's also a dessert zone, so I grabbed some rice puffs on the way out. They use Starbucks beans for the coffee and even have ice available, so this really is a restaurant that people of all ages can enjoy together!

Had a great meal. The broth does taste a bit like tuna sauce (jinmichaek) at times, but the seafood carried it and it was still nice and refreshing. And since they have baby rice for kids to enjoy too, I'd definitely go back!!👍👍
