This is the complimentary bánh xèo. Wait, is this really the look of a free dish!! At other Vietnamese specialty restaurants or Southeast Asian restaurants, you would have to order this separately for over ₩10,000, but it comes free here. It feels like we came for pho and were treated to a proper dish too.^^ Place the bánh xèo on a Vietnamese rice-paper wrapper, add vegetables and sauce, then savor it bite by bite. It is nutty and crisp, with different textures and seasonings all working together so deliciously. Even when I travel to Vietnam, I always order bánh xèo if I see it on the menu—it is exactly my kind of dish. The broth looks rich, right? There is plenty of beef intestine in it too. It is neither tough nor smelly, just pleasantly chewy and tender. The heat can be adjusted, and you can even ask them to leave out the peppers in the mild version, so this would be perfect when visiting with kids. Because I love bean sprouts, I absolutely love this Cheongsapo, Haeundae pho restaurant where they pile them in and you can get more!! The broth is delicious too. I had a beer for the first time in re~ally long while yesterday, and rather than simply settling my stomach, this hangover soup felt like it was putting energy back into my whole body.
