## In short

Mimi China is a Chinese restaurant in Unjeong, Paju, Gyeonggi, where the writer ordered ganjjajang (noodles with black bean sauce), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and shinmi jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). A large parking lot, a roomy dining hall and tablet ordering at each table made the meal easy, and the springy ganjjajang noodles, thick tangsuyuk and seafood-packed jjamppong all delivered. There's just something about weekend lunches that makes me crave Chinese food. So while looking for a Chinese restaurant in Unjeong, Paju, I ended up at Mimi China! From the clean, tidy space to the deep-flavored jjamppong and thick tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), everything about this place satisfied me.

When you drive to a restaurant, parking space is always the first worry — but here there's a large lot, so you can visit comfortably.

Walking into the restaurant, I immediately felt how clean and hygienic it was. The dining hall had plenty of tables spaced out comfortably, so it looked like a great spot for a family meal without feeling crowded.

Each table had its own ordering tablet installed, which was really convenient.

## Ordering ganjjajang, shinmi jjamppong and tangsuyuk by tablet

Looking through the menu at this Unjeong favorite, there was a wide variety of dishes prepared — whole dumplings, fried dumplings, spicy shinmi jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), deep-flavored mimi jjamppong, jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), ganjjajang, jjajang rice, shinmi jjamppong rice, and mimi jjamppong rice, among others.

There was also a wide range of sides to pair with the meal — tangsuyuk, kkwabaerou (Chinese-style crispy pork), fried meat, and samseon suljjambong (soup with seafood and vegetables), along with a well-rounded Mimi set menu, so there was plenty to choose from depending on taste. That day, we picked three dishes: ganjjajang, shinmi jjamppong, and tangsuyuk.

After we finished ordering, they set out the basic side dishes — raw onion, pickled radish, and jjachai (pickled mustard greens). The spoon and chopsticks especially came neatly wrapped in packaging, which showed how much attention they paid to hygiene.

Any additional side dishes were self-serve from the side bar, which was also kept impressively hygienic!

## Ganjjajang: springy noodles in black bean sauce

The dishes started arriving one by one, and the first thing we tried was the ganjjajang.

![Photo of Mimi China's ganjjajang](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong-10-xp3dg-900.webp)

The noodles hadn't gone soft at all — they stayed chewy and springy,

![Photo of the chewy noodles in the ganjjajang](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong-11-ket8n-900.webp)

and once mixed with the freshly stir-fried ganjjajang sauce, the rich flavor of the black bean paste combined with the crisp crunch of onion made for a fantastic bite.

And the plain boiled egg on top tied it all together! It really was a well-balanced dish. The jjajangmyeon wasn't too sweet or too salty — the seasoning was just right, so I kept reaching for more!

## Tangsuyuk: thick Korean pork loin in a thin, crispy batter

Next, we tried the tangsuyuk, and one bite in, I understood exactly why it's so popular.

![Photo of Mimi China's tangsuyuk](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong-14-19grf-900.webp)

The batter on the tangsuyuk wasn't thick, so the crispiness was doubled, and the meat inside — thick Korean pork sirloin with no gamey smell — was full of juice and savory flavor with every chew.

The tangsuyuk was crispy outside and moist inside, tasty even on its own, but dipping it generously in the sweet and sour sauce made it even better! The combination of thick pork sirloin packed inside that thin crust with the sauce was excellent.

## Shinmi jjamppong: spicy broth loaded with seafood

The last dish we tried, shinmi jjamppong, had a broth made from a seafood base, giving it a refreshing quality.

![Photo of seafood-based shinmi jjamppong](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong-18-1hxg3-900.webp)

Maybe that's why it was also loaded with seafood — shrimp, squid, and more!

![Shinmi jjamppong loaded with seafood](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong/paju-mimichina-tangsuyuk-jjamppong-20-a7ygw-900.webp)

The broth wasn't just spicy for the sake of it — it had a deliciously rich, sharp heat that felt like it could cure a hangover from the night before.

The noodles and seafood had soaked up the broth well, so I enjoyed it right down to the last bite.

If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Unjeong with easy parking, a clean space, and reliably good food, I recommend Mimi China!

The space was so comfortable and the staff so friendly that I had a genuinely pleasant time throughout the meal.
