## In short

Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon is a Chinese beef knife-cut noodle restaurant on the 1st floor of Lemeilleur Jongno Town at 19 Jongno, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The writer ordered uyuk dosakmyeon (beef knife-cut noodle soup), a yuxiang pork rice bowl and crystal dumplings for one table of noodles, rice and dumplings, and even with both the 1st and 2nd floors busy, the table QR code made choosing dishes easy. Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon is a good pick near Gwanghwamun when you want a generous taste of several dishes at once.

## Where is Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon? 1st floor of Lemeilleur Jongno Town

I visited Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon (청화 우육도삭면), on the 1st floor of Lemeilleur Jongno Town! The orange sign really stands out, so it wasn't hard to find the place haha. I was looking for a beef noodle spot near Gwanghwamun and got curious about dosakmyeon (knife-cut noodles), so I visited — I was already excited about the menu before even walking in!

![Standing sign out front with photos of signature dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-02-5w3cw-900.webp)

There was a standing sign out front with photos of the signature dishes! You could see everything from uyuk dosakmyeon to rice bowls and dumplings in pictures, which made choosing easier~ Great for a first-time visitor to browse the menu before even sitting down hahaha.

![First-order and last-order time notice posted at the entrance](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-03-1vlnw-900.webp)

At the entrance, the first-order and last-order times were also posted separately~ First order is at 10:30 AM and last order is at 9:40 PM haha. If you're visiting late, it's worth checking the last order time!

Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon is on the 1st floor of Lemeilleur Jongno Town, 19 Jongno, Jongno-gu, Seoul! It's an easy walk from Gwanghwamun Station haha. Once you're inside the building, you just find the 1st-floor shop — following the map made it simple~

## Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon's menu and the 1st- and 2nd-floor seating

Large menu photos were posted on the wall, which caught my eye~! From yubal dosakmyeon and Sichuan-style uyuk dosakmyeon to good sharing dishes like kkanpunggi and yuringi, there was a wide variety haha. Even though it's known as a go-to beef noodle spot near Gwanghwamun, you can pick from rice dishes and cooked dishes too, not just noodles~!

![1st floor seating with comfortable spacing between tables](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-05-gg6dn-900.webp)

The 1st floor had comfortable spacing between tables and an overall clean vibe haha. When I visited, several tables were already full, so the place felt quite lively~! I saw everything from solo diners to groups hahaha.

![Seating continuing on the 2nd floor](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-07-oob34-m-900.webp)

There were more seats continuing on the 2nd floor, so the place was bigger than it looked from outside~! Both floors were busy with customers, and you could really feel that it's a popular spot haha. Spread across two floors, the space was more spacious than expected~!

![QR ordering sign placed on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-08-1dng7-900.webp)

## Ordering at the table by QR code with T-order multi-order

Orders were placed by phone using T-order multi-order! Scan the QR code on the table with your smartphone and it takes you straight to the menu screen, no separate app install or login needed~ Once you pick what you want and order from your phone, it's reflected in the store's order right away haha. It was surprisingly handy since everyone could browse the menu on their own phone~!

We ordered crystal dumplings, yuxiang pork bowl, and uyuk dosakmyeon~! With noodles, rice, and dumplings each picked one, the table filled up fast haha. I liked being able to try this many dishes together at a beef noodle spot near Gwanghwamun~~

![Full spread of uyuk dosakmyeon, yuxiang pork bowl, and crystal dumplings](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-10-15yo5-900.webp)

The basic side dishes were peanuts and tangy seasoned cabbage~! The peanuts were nutty and easy to pick at one by one, and the cabbage was crunchy with a slight tang that woke up the palate haha. Eating them alongside rich dishes like uyuk dosakmyeon or the rice bowl worked surprisingly well~~

## How does the yuxiang pork rice bowl taste? Salty and savory

Yuxiang pork bowl is shredded pork and vegetables stir-fried in yuxiang sauce and served over rice~~! The glossy sauce coated the rice generously too, so it looked appetizing~ It had a sweet, salty umami that went really well with the rice~!

![Yuxiang pork bowl with glossy sauce mixed through](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-12-ncnuy-900.webp)

Up close, the finely shredded pork and vegetables were more generous than expected haha. The sauce coated each ingredient evenly, so it paired well with the rice~! Switching back and forth with the noodles let us enjoy completely different flavors at the same table!

Piling a spoonful high with pork made for a really filling bite~! The meat was cut small so it was easy to eat with rice, and the sauce's flavor naturally came along with it hahaha. It was salty and umami hit right away, so the rice kept disappearing~~

## Uyuk dosakmyeon noodle texture: thin edges, thick centers

Uyuk dosakmyeon, a must at any beef noodle spot near Gwanghwamun, arrived too! It's a dish where noodles shaved with a knife go into broth made from simmered bones, so it looked different from regular noodles right from the start~ There was plenty of meat tucked among the wide, thick noodles, so a single bowl looked filling on its own haha.

![Uyuk dosakmyeon with knife-cut noodles and meat in bone broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-16-1qvrs-900.webp)

![Lifting up the wide, thick dosakmyeon noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-17-1olju-900.webp)

Lifting the noodles up, the thickness wasn't uniform, so the texture difference between the thin and thick parts was interesting~~! The thicker noodles were chewy while the thinner ones soaked up more broth, so each bite had its own charm~ The meat was pretty big when I looked closely too, so eating it with the noodles made for a hearty mouthful~! True to a beef noodle spot near Gwanghwamun, that distinctive dosakmyeon texture was what stuck with me most hahaha.

![Crystal dumplings with translucent wrappers](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-18-1qac0-900.webp)

## Crystal dumplings, an easy side to share with the noodles

Crystal dumplings are dim sum where the translucent wrapper catches your eye first~! They made a great side to have one of between bites of uyuk dosakmyeon and the rice bowl, so I was glad we ordered them too haha. The size wasn't overwhelming either, so my hand kept reaching for them between the other dishes~~

![Inside of a crystal dumpling with shrimp and chives](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian/cheonghwa-lemeilleur-jongno-daoxiaomian-19-1mc15-900.webp)

Taking a bite, the wrapper was chewy and the shrimp inside was springy, so the texture contrast was clear! There was a subtle chive aroma too, so it wasn't greasy and ate light and clean~ The seasoning wasn't too strong, so it worked well alongside the richer uyuk dosakmyeon~~!

## The verdict on eating all three Cheonghwa dishes together

From the distinctive chewy texture of the dosakmyeon to the umami-rich yuxiang pork bowl, each dish had its own charm haha. Adding the crystal dumplings on top made for a satisfying combination as a side between the noodles and rice~~! Both floors were packed with customers, but ordering by phone made choosing easy haha. If you're looking for a beef noodle spot near Gwanghwamun and want to enjoy several dishes at once, I recommend Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon~!
