## In short

Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch is a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building on Mokdongdong-ro in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Two diners shared the signature steamed bone-broth seafood jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) at 11,000 won, the signature jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) at 8,000 won and the mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) at 13,000 won, with the tangsuyuk sauce served on the side for dipping. The verdict on Yugwanjang Banjeom: the first genuinely good Chinese meal in a long while.

I was craving Chinese food after a long time, so I looked around near Omokgyo Station and ended up at Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch.

Jjajangmyeon, jjampong, tangsuyuk — Chinese food is so good when you have it occasionally, but it's always a struggle deciding where to go. This time I finally had a properly delicious meal and was personally very satisfied. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant near Omokgyo Station, this is worth checking out as a Mokdong go-to spot.

## What we ordered for two, and the prices

At Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch, we ordered the signature steamed bone-broth seafood jjampong (₩11,000), the signature jjajangmyeon (₩8,000), and the mini tangsuyuk (₩13,000). We wanted to try a good variety, so this is what we picked.

- Signature steamed bone-broth seafood jjampong ₩11,000
- Signature jjajangmyeon ₩8,000
- Mini tangsuyuk ₩13,000

One jjajangmyeon, one jjampong, plus tangsuyuk — perfect amount for two. I'm the type who feels something's missing if I don't have tangsuyuk with Chinese food, and having a mini size meant I could order it without any guilt! At a Chinese restaurant it's always a shame to pick only one between jjajangmyeon and jjampong, so ordering both to share and enjoying multiple flavors was great haha.

## What does the signature steamed bone-broth seafood jjampong taste like?

We started with Yugwanjang's signature steamed bone-broth seafood jjampong (₩11,000). True to its name, the bone-broth base gave it a somewhat different feel from a regular jjampong.

The broth was rich yet had a refreshing seafood flavor layered in, and it went really well with the noodles. I'm someone who cares a lot about the broth when eating jjampong, and I felt like I had a genuinely delicious jjampong for the first time in a while.

![Seafood pieces inside the seafood jjampong](https://img.superchart.com/images/yugwanjang-banjeom-omokgyo-jjamppong-tangsuyuk/yugwanjang-banjeom-omokgyo-jjamppong-tangsuyuk-06-rc0f0-900.webp)

There was plenty of seafood mixed in too, so it was more fun than just eating noodles — picking out seafood pieces along the way. If you like jjampong, this style is worth trying when you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Mokdong.

## Signature jjajangmyeon ₩8,000, with a sprinkle of chili powder

Yugwanjang's signature jjajangmyeon is ₩8,000. And of course, no Chinese meal is complete without jjajangmyeon! The glossy black bean sauce mixed well into the noodles — familiar, yet still really delicious.

Sprinkling on plenty of chili powder, true Korean style! Jjajangmyeon really is one of those dishes that satisfies every time, even on a non-special occasion.

Ordering it alongside the jjampong and alternating bites kept it from feeling heavy, and I kept going back for more.

If you're visiting as a pair, I'd especially recommend ordering one jjajangmyeon and one jjampong to share.

## Mini tangsuyuk ₩13,000, dipping sauce on request

We ordered the mini-size tangsuyuk for ₩13,000, and since I'm on Team Dipping Sauce, I asked for it on the side^^ It's a shame to skip tangsuyuk when you're out for Chinese food.

Since we were already having jjajangmyeon and jjampong between the two of us, a huge portion would've been too much, so having a mini size was great. The tangsuyuk was fried crispy, and eating it with the sauce alongside the jjajangmyeon and jjampong made a great in-between bite. Adding tangsuyuk on top of just the noodle dishes definitely made it feel like a proper full Chinese meal!

At Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch, we tried a bit of everything — jjajangmyeon, jjampong, and tangsuyuk. In the end, it comes down to one line: finally, some genuinely good Chinese food after a long time.

Rather than just sticking to one dish, ordering jjajangmyeon and jjampong together with tangsuyuk and sharing was the way to go. If you're near Omokgyo Station wondering where to get Chinese food, Yugwanjang is a solid choice as a Mokdong go-to spot.
