## In short

Baekseok Kkogijip is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the Baekseok food alley in Goyang, Gyeonggi, where the kitchen grills the meat for you. On the beef galbi set for two, swapping the kimchi stew for yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl) costs ₩4,000 more and brought the bill to ₩69,000 for two, and the 500g marinated beef galbi arrived fully grilled with charcoal aroma. Baekseok Kkogijip means no smoke smell on your clothes, a generous tasting portion of yukhoe, and nothing to do but pick up your chopsticks.

*One of the top Korean BBQ spots in Baekseok | Baekseok Kkogijip, where they grill the beef galbi for you*

One of the best pre-grilled BBQ spots in Baekseok, hands down the tastiest of the bunch! Honest review of Baekseok Kkogijip, where they grill the beef galbi for you.

A beef galbi set where you never have to grill anything yourself thanks to the grilling service, plus a tasting-size yukhoe (raw beef) that's bigger than expected — why I'd recommend the set, and how much cheaper it is than ordering à la carte.

## Where is Baekseok Kkogijip, and what is the restaurant like?

Baekseok Kkogijip sits right in the middle of the Baekseok food alley, and it's a BBQ place that grills everything for you before serving. The entrance is easy to find, and the full-wall windows that open up make the whole place feel airy.

There are tons of yangkkochi (lamb skewer) places and other good restaurants near Baekseok Station... honestly a lot of restaurants around here stay open pretty late. I've eaten my way around this area quite a bit, but nothing beats meat that someone else grills for you!!

![Entrance to Baekseok Kkogijip in the Baekseok food alley](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-05-qdyxw-966.webp)

Baekseok Kkogijip, a Baekseok favorite that grills the meat beautifully for you — the entrance is easy to spot too.

Since it's right in the middle of the food alley, there's no dedicated building parking lot, but you can park nearby in the neighborhood or use a public parking lot and walk over.

With the full-wall windows open, the whole space feels breezy. In summer you'd probably want the doors closed with the AC on, but on nice, cool days like these, eating while feeling the outside air makes for a really lovely BBQ experience.

## Baekseok Kkogijip menu and the ₩69,000 order for two

Baekseok Kkogijip's à la carte menu includes marinated beef galbi, marinated pork, samgyeopsal, pork neck, and hanwoo yukhoe, while the set menus come in 2-person and 3–4 person sizes. Ordering a set is great because you get to try tasting-size yukhoe and a stew (kimchi stew or doenjang sul-bap) alongside the main meat.

The two of us spent ₩69,000 total. The beef galbi 2-person set normally comes with marinated beef galbi, tasting-size yukhoe, and kimchi stew, but we paid an extra ₩4,000 to swap the stew for yukhoe bibimbap instead!

![Basic spread for the beef galbi 2-person set](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-07-mp3i4-966.webp)

## Corn cheese and steamed egg: the banchan spread at Baekseok Kkogijip

Maybe because we ordered the set, but the basic spread of side dishes was already so generous and varied that it put me in a great mood. Corn cheese and steamed egg — the kind of tasty sides you'd expect to have to add on — came as standard :)

![Standard side dishes including corn cheese and steamed egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-08-galnj-966.webp)

There's a wide range of banchan (side dishes) ready to go — wild garlic leaves, seasoned lettuce wraps, mu-saengchae (spicy radish salad), wasabi ssamjang, and more.

![Wild garlic leaves and seasoned lettuce wrap side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-09-w684v-966.webp)

![Plate of mu-saengchae and wasabi ssamjang](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-10-1d9rd-966.webp)

Having so many side dishes to pair with the meat also made the meal that much better — one of the reasons this made my list of top Baekseok BBQ spots.

![Corn cheese served as a standard side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-11-1vyjh-966.webp)

And honestly, it's been a while since I've seen a restaurant just hand out corn cheese and steamed egg as standard side dishes — such a generous touch :) Even at the same price, it feels like you're eating a richer, more satisfying meal for great value.

## How much yukhoe comes with the set for two?

Despite the name, the tasting-size yukhoe (raw beef) included in the Baekseok Kkogijip set is actually pretty generous in portion. A signature menu item at this Baekseok-dong favorite, it's said to be made with 1++ grade hanwoo (Korean beef) for its fresh flavor.

![Tasting-size hanwoo yukhoe included in the set](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-12-w695k-966.webp)

When I heard "tasting-size," I really expected just a tiny bit. But at other yukhoe or yuk-sashimi places, this much would just be sold as the regular à la carte portion!

![Vivid red yukhoe topped with an egg yolk](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-13-yaizy-966.webp)

The visuals alone make your mouth water — vivid red, fresh yukhoe ❤️ topped with a plump, bouncy egg yolk to mix right in.

Put the pretty yolk right on top of the yukhoe! As everyone knows, poke it gently with your chopsticks so the rich, silky yolk seeps slowly through the beef~ That takes the yukhoe's flavor up a notch. Toss it together with the sweet julienned pear and yolk, and the yukhoe gets this glossy, moist sheen on the surface — the flavor gets even richer too!!

![A bite of yukhoe mixed with yolk and pear](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-14-16ukp-966.webp)

Chewy yet tender texture that melts right on your tongue. The beef itself is so fresh there's absolutely no off smell or gamey taste! The more you chew, the more that mild, savory sweetness unique to raw beef comes through — I'm still thinking about that flavor, it left such an impression.

## Yukhoe bibimbap for ₩4,000 instead of the kimchi stew

Paying ₩4,000 extra to swap the stew for yukhoe bibimbap was the best decision of the day. A recommended side menu item at this Baekseok-dong favorite, it's a bibimbap with fresh hanwoo yukhoe and a special sauce mixed in.

![Yukhoe bibimbap ordered with the ₩4,000 upgrade](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-15-t10go-966.webp)

Upgrading from kimchi stew to yukhoe bibimbap for just ₩4,000 more was truly a genius move! Because the fresh yukhoe on top was a bigger portion than I expected. It came surrounded generously by crisp vegetables and seaweed flakes. After drizzling on the special chojang (vinegar-chili) sauce to taste, I gently mixed it with a spoon so as not to crush the rice grains.

![Yukhoe bibimbap mixed with chojang sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-16-18w26-966.webp)

Chewy, tender yukhoe that melts right on your tongue. I'm not usually much of a rice person — I'd rather just eat the yukhoe or yuk-sashimi on their own — but the more I chewed, the more I kept tasting that mild natural sweetness and savoriness of the raw beef. The crisp fresh vegetables added a fun crunch too. The sauce wasn't overly sharp or salty, and it brought out the yukhoe's fresh flavor nicely with a spicy-tangy savoriness. A hearty, satisfying bowl through and through haha.

![Bibimbap piled generously with yukhoe](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-17-a0h5f-966.webp)

Plenty of places sell yukhoe bibimbap, but it's rare to find one that piles on this much fresh, delicious yukhoe like Baekseok Kkogijip does. And the bean sprouts, lettuce, and other vegetables mixed in balance perfectly with the rice too!

![Yukhoe bibimbap with bean sprouts and vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-18-1twol-966.webp)

Honestly, I'm the type who picks the fish off sushi and skips the rice, eats only the fillings out of gimbap and leaves the rice, and skips rice with chueotang or galbitang too — but this yukhoe bibimbap really has that synergy between the 'yukhoe' and the 'rice,' making the combination itself a genuinely delicious dish on its own.

## 500g marinated beef galbi, grilled in the kitchen and served ready to eat

Baekseok Kkogijip's 500g marinated beef galbi comes out already grilled in the kitchen, infused with charcoal aroma. This Baekseok-dong favorite's marinated beef galbi combines charcoal smokiness with a special house marinade.

![Pan piled high with 500g of marinated beef galbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-19-1nr09-966.webp)

The 500g marinated beef galbi arrives sizzling! The black round pan is packed edge to edge with meat — it's hard to believe this is just for two :) Since it's grilled fully in the kitchen with proper charcoal aroma, there's zero need to sit there breathing in smoke with tongs, flipping meat at the table. Such a relief. Not having to worry about smoke clinging to your clothes and just picking up your chopsticks right away is the biggest charm of this place.

![Close-up of charcoal-grilled marinated beef galbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-20-1y8pu-966.webp)

That smoky charcoal flavor fills your mouth along with a sweet-savory, slightly salty richness. The marinade isn't overly sweet or sharp — it gently supports the beef galbi's deep, natural meaty flavor, the kind that keeps pulling you back for another bite.

![Scored beef galbi with vegetable garnishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap/baekseok-galbi-set-yukhoe-bibimbap-21-191j5-966.webp)

The balance of chewiness and tenderness typical of beef galbi is excellent here too. Not a tough spot anywhere — the marinade and juices are locked in tight between the scored cuts haha. Since a pro did the grilling, the inside kept its moisture without any dryness, and the more you chew, the more the savory juices and marinade meld together. It's not just served on a plate either — a candle keeps warming the dish continuously so the meat never goes cold, which was a nice touch.

The garnishes served alongside the meat were also excellent — mushrooms, kkwari-gochu (shishito-style peppers), onions.... Big king oyster mushrooms grilled golden in the meat's fat, sweet onions, and sharp green kkwari-gochu all filled up the pan alongside the galbi. The juicy grilled mushrooms especially became even chewier and more satisfying eaten together with the meat.

Thanks to the candle-warmed pan, the meat stayed warm right down to the last bite, which was great. No breaks in conversation for grilling either — just pick up perfectly cooked beef galbi with your chopsticks, and you get both great taste and total convenience!

## Is Baekseok Kkogijip worth a second visit?

Had a delicious meal again today! Usually after a BBQ dinner, I'm rushing to toss my clothes straight into the washing machine because of the smell that clings to them haha — but this time, with no smoke or smell to worry about, I could focus completely on the food, which was definitely more comfortable :)

From the pre-grilled marinated beef galbi to the fresh yukhoe that really got my appetite going, the combination of dishes was flawless. It's the perfect place for a comfortable meal where you just chat with your dining companion and pick up your chopsticks without any of the hassle of grilling yourself — this will be the first place that comes to mind whenever I want to enjoy beef galbi without the fuss :)
