## In short

Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch is a black pork grill restaurant in a Rodeo Street alley in Gyeongan-dong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi. The family ordered the Signature BBQ A Set (59,000 won), and staff grilled the pork belly and skirt meat skin-on to dip in a range of salts and seasonings, with nurungjitang (scorched rice soup) added for the toddler. Baby chairs, baby tableware and 2 hours of free parking at Munhwa Wedding Hall made Jeju Oktop an easy dinner out with a child.

We were trying to decide what to eat for dinner when my husband said, "Let's go get some proper meat for once, it's been a while," haha.

Instant yes! Jeju Oktop, a franchise famous for black pork over in Gyeongan-dong! So we took the chance to go as a whole family, holding our kid's hand the whole way.

## Where is Jeju Oktop Gwangju Gyeongan Branch, and where do you park?

Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch is on the 1st floor of 11-13 Gwangju-daero, Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, in the alley leading from the Olive Young on Rodeo Street toward Bonjuk. It's open weekdays 15:00–24:00 and weekends 12:00–24:00, and it's a place with dedicated grillers on staff serving black pork aged with a wet/dry-aging cross method. Baby chairs and baby tableware are also provided as standard.

The moment we walked in, stone walls, dol hareubang (stone grandfather statues), and basalt decor were scattered everywhere, and for a second I thought, "Wait, are we in Jeju?" It brought back memories of a past Jeju trip, and the interior alone completely changed the mood.

If you're driving, it's much easier to search "Munhwa Wedding Hall" in your navigation instead of the restaurant's name. We finished work and headed straight over in two separate cars—my husband's and mine—and both got registered for 2 hours of free parking, so we could eat without worrying about parking at all :)

The basic side dishes and salt setup were laid out, and even the setup itself looked neat and well put together.

## What comes in the 59,000 won Signature BBQ A Set

What we ordered at Jeju Oktop, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch was the Signature BBQ A Set for ₩59,000. Picked off the menu, this set is a good size for 2–3 people, and it comes generously loaded with a specialty cut, skirt meat (galmaegisal), plus grilled vegetables.

Wrapping greens, kimchi, pickled sides like myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaves) and pickled radish, ssamjang, and several other sauces—every detail felt considered.

### The order to try the salts and seasonings

What stood out most was the range of salts and seasonings. It wasn't just one or two—there was an extensive setup with salt, steak seasoning, and more, and it was oddly fun how the meat's flavor changed subtly depending on which salt you used.

I'd recommend trying the meat plain first to taste it on its own, then dipping it in each salt one by one after that.

## Black pork belly grilled skin-on by the staff

At Jeju Oktop, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch, a skilled staff member grills the meat right beside you, which was really convenient. When grilling the pork belly, they first asked whether we wanted the skin removed or left on—we asked for it grilled on, and the chewy texture was outstanding.

With thick-cut black pork, the flavor changes dramatically depending on grilling timing, and having a professional grill it meant the juices stayed locked in, making it taste far better.

Maybe because it's cross-aged meat—wet-aged for moisture and dry-aged for flavor—the nuttiness really stood out the more you chewed. Eating it with the various sauces and side dishes in different combinations, it didn't feel like just eating ordinary pork belly but more like trying a variety of dishes.

## Is Jeju Oktop good with kids? Nurungjitang and baby chairs

When you're out with a kid, the most welcome restaurants are the ones with baby chairs and baby tableware provided as standard! And one more thing—it also helps if there's food your kid actually likes.

Our kid happens to love nurungji (scorched rice), so we immediately ordered the nurungjitang on the menu. We topped the warm scorched rice with grilled meat, and our kid ate it up so well that I found myself wanting to come back again. Meet the kid who feeds herself when the food's good, haha.

![Nurungjitang that the child ate well](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-oktap-gyeongan-nurungji-tang-pork-belly/jeju-oktap-gyeongan-nurungji-tang-pork-belly-17-1swha-900.webp)

At the next table, staff kept grilling meat, and it looked like it was going straight out for delivery orders^^ I should order delivery from here sometime too!

![Mul-naengmyeon eaten to finish the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-oktap-gyeongan-nurungji-tang-pork-belly/jeju-oktap-gyeongan-nurungji-tang-pork-belly-18-1phju-900.webp)

Thanks to the attentive grilling service and the quality of the meat, the whole family had a delicious time all through the meal^^ Oh, and the mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) was really good too!!

If you're trying to figure out where to take the family to eat, I'd recommend giving Jeju Oktop, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch—a solid spot in Gwangju, Gyeonggi—a try!
