If you're paying the same price for hanjeongsik, wouldn't you rather choose a place run by someone with proven credentials? The restaurant is clean and uncluttered. It has a modern feel while the hanok-style interior and the view outside give it a countryside vibe! The nutty smell of sesame oil wafts around nicely. I mixed gochujang and sesame oil into the rice as an appetizer! Later I went back for seconds, mixing it with cheonggukjang instead. The grilled mackerel is made right after ordering. The golden-grilled mackerel comes out with a variety of side dishes. It's not a bland cheonggukjang — it has just the right seasoning and goes really well with rice. You ask staff for more cheonggukjang if you run out, but the other side dishes you can grab yourself, so I ate as much japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) as I wanted, since I love it. It's clearly popular because staff kept refilling it — the seasoning was really well done. The mackerel is genuinely huge for two people to share! It has just the right amount of fat and tastes so clean. One fish would already be enough, but there were two, so it's been a while since I've felt full on mackerel alone ..💕 Mackerel prices have gotten so high these days, right? Eating rice from a stone pot feels like something needed in every season now. The smell of the rice is amazing, but since it's hot, you should scoop it into an empty bowl to let it cool a bit. At Bomseol, I got to enjoy a full hanjeongsik meal at a fair price after a long time. The staff were kind and the seating was comfortable — there's a reason it's so popular.
