As I write in every review: I got a discount to visit, but I write my honest opinion regardless :)

## Doseogwan Dwitjip, the Chinese restaurant in Giheung-gu, Yongin named after the library out front

Doseogwan Dwitjip is a Chinese restaurant located at 18-21 Guseong 2-ro, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor. My partner (!) wanted jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) from a good Chinese restaurant, so while searching for 'Yongin Chinese restaurant recommendations,' this place caught my eye with quite a few reviews as a Giheung-gu favorite. Honestly, the name itself is unusual, which drew me in too..

I was curious whether it was really behind a library, and it was neat to find that it's actually located near one

My first impression of the entrance was..

But looking inside, so many people were eating jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), so I thought 'yep, this is the place' and walked right in haha. It said parking was limited, but the building right next door was vacant so we parked with plenty of room to spare. It seemed like mostly locals came here — we were the only ones who drove (that's what made me think parking was scarce)

## Inside Doseogwan Dwitjip: the dining room and the self-serve corner

Doseogwan Dwitjip was bigger than I expected, and above all, the interior was spotlessly clean. The first impression as we walked in was memorable

Personally, when choosing a restaurant, cleanliness matters to me as much as taste, and this place passed with flying colors. The open kitchen was well-organized too, which somehow made me trust the food even more.

True to its name ("house behind the library"), there were books on display, and the view outside was really cozy and comfortable

The self-serve corner was also nice. Rice is self-serve and unlimited,

and the banchan (side dishes) are self-serve too, so you can take as much as you need. I liked that at least here, you don't have to leave hungry or feel awkward asking for more sides — the setup lets you enjoy your meal comfortably

When it gets busy, they must get crowded at the self-serve bar, so there's a note asking that only one person use it at a time, and underneath with a ★ it says to send your boyfriend or husband to do it all hahahahahaha

All around Doseogwan Dwitjip were signs offering a free upgrade to large size for firefighters, police officers, and soldiers. Honestly I'm none of those, but doesn't seeing something like this just make you feel good? Like, the world's still alright..

There aren't that many places that show gratitude this way to people doing tough jobs!

A place that already earned points before we even tasted the food

## How the extra-large hunjjamppong and the gochu-jjajang with tangsuyuk set tasted

We ordered two of Doseogwan Dwitjip's signature dishes. (Jjamppong in large size) It's like tangjjamyeon/tangjjamppong (noodles served alongside sweet and sour pork), but unlike the usual style, here the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) comes in its own separate bowl. I much prefer it this way — it feels more like an actual dish! We waited maybe 3 minutes, and true to Chinese restaurant form, the food came out incredibly fast

Why is the black bowl so huge? The white bowl is big too, but the black bowl was seriously massive. Regular size seems to come in white, large in black. I wondered if we could even finish it all... but first, I took a spoonful of the broth

It wasn't just spicy — it had that real, deep fire flavor from being properly stir-fried in a wok. The broth was rich and deep too, with generous amounts of ingredients, so it was satisfying the whole way through :) By the way, my partner, who ate the hunjjamppong, was thrilled and said it's in the top five jjamppong broths they've had anywhere in the country!

### How spicy is the gochu-jjajang at Doseogwan Dwitjip?

This is the gochu-jjajang (chili black bean noodles) I had! It's loaded with cheongyang chili peppers hahaha, but as you can see, it's not actually that spicy! Perfect for people like me who sometimes find regular jjajang a bit greasy! The added spiciness in gochu-jjajang cuts right through that greasiness! I could eat it all the way to the end without getting sick of it, nice and clean

And here's the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) that came with it. It's the glutinous rice flour type, and the sauce was so good I scraped up every last bit haha. The tangsuyuk portion might look small, but since the main dish was already so huge, this was plenty for me.. And it felt like a well-put-together set — the tangsuyuk didn't taste thrown together at all (seriously delicious)

My partner said the broth was so good they added another bowl of rice into it... We ate until we were bursting for around ₩20,000 and left feeling completely satisfied!

## Final verdict on Doseogwan Dwitjip

Overall, if you're looking for a good restaurant or a jjamppong spot in Yongin, I genuinely think Doseogwan Dwitjip is worth a visit. Both the staff and the owner were extremely kind and attentive from start to finish, and we left feeling great. Feeling good after a meal isn't just about the taste of the food — it's also about service like this..!
