## Where is Mela Times Square in Yeongdeungpo?

Mela Times Square is a European-style home-cooking brunch café on the 1st floor of Times Square, right across from H&M. I'd always been curious about this café every time I stopped by H&M or ZARA, haha. When I found out our meeting spot was set for Yeongdeungpo Times Square, I looked it up and saw it was a European-style home-cooking brunch café.

The big arched windows, brick design, and deep green tones all come together to match the European brunch café vibe. The windows are so large that even though you're inside Times Square, it doesn't feel stuffy at all.

## Mela Times Square menu and what the order cost

At Mela Times Square you order at the entrance. We ordered minari vongole for ₩22,000, the signature brunch plate for ₩22,000, and an iced americano for ₩5,500. After ordering I noticed they also had malenka cake, plus French toast and coffee set menus.

The menu is split into main dishes and all-day brunch, and you can add truffle fries or sourdough. Drinks range from coffee to non-coffee to house-made citron tea drinks. Since I was hungry, I went for pasta, and my friend had eaten lightly beforehand so she went for the signature brunch plate and coffee!

The interior of Mela Times Square really does look like a great spot for dates or wedding-invitation gatherings. Maybe that's why they're running a discount for such gatherings until November 30, 2026 — weekdays require a Naver reservation, weekends are walk-in or phone inquiry. Good to know if you're planning one!

Since it's close to Yeongdeungpo Station, there were a lot of people with luggage too, and high chairs were ready for babies. With the high ceilings and great atmosphere inside Times Square, Mela is also a solid pick when you're looking for a date spot!

First, the signature brunch plate: sourdough, thinly sliced avocado, sun-dried tomato, a salad with a refreshing dressing, emmental cheese, carrot rapée, roasted vegetables, and a plump sausage.

The roasted vegetables are sweet pumpkin, lotus root, and potato — all vegetables that hardly anyone dislikes. You pile the cheese, carrot rapée, and salad onto the well-toasted sourdough however you like and eat it like an open sandwich.

I got a little greedy piling things on, so the shape ended up looking a bit odd (?), but it was a delicious combination, haha. Between the avocado and cheese giving it a softness, and the tangy rapée and salad, plus the sourdough being toasted just right — not too hard — it all worked really well.

## Is the minari vongole pasta at Mela spicy?

You can adjust the spice level of Mela Times Square's minari vongole, but even without adjusting it, it wasn't too much for a morning meal. What caught my eye first was the amount of minari (water dropwort) — piled on generously, it made the dish even more fragrant, haha. The umami from the clams is what makes vongole special, and here the fragrant herb and the clam's savoriness came together really well.

The noodles are linguine, so the texture with the vegetables was spot on.

The roasted lotus root had a clean flavor and a slight crunch, and the sausage was salty, plump, and warm — an essential part of any brunch. Since they're open as usual during Chuseok, I want to come back with friends who are free that day!

## Mela's iced americano: nutty, heavy, no sourness

Mela Times Square's iced americano is ₩5,500 and has a heavy, nutty flavor with no sourness at all. The straw sticking up looks like an antenna on the iced americano. If you can't find a seat at a café in Times Square, come to Mela for a good atmosphere and get a malenka cake with an americano! Mela really is a coffee spot. If you love that no-sourness, heavy, nutty flavor, you have to try the iced americano. It went so well with the brunch — I can only imagine how well it'd go with cake. I noticed almost every other table had an americano too, and now I get why.

## Is Mela Times Square worth a visit?

When you're looking for brunch, a meal, or a Times Square café, Mela Times Square has both the atmosphere and the taste to back up its reputation as a spot for wedding-invitation gatherings and dates. They have pizza, pasta, French toast, and brunch plates — even Stella draft beer. I hear the roasted napa cabbage salad and the pumpkin gorgonzola pastry pizza both have great reviews too. The wedding-gathering discount is still running, and they're open as usual over this Chuseok holiday, so go check it out!
