## In short

Suwolgyeonghwa is a four-floor ocean-view tea café in Songjeong, Haeundae-gu, Busan, that switches to a separate after-dark theme called bamsimal (night stroll) once the sun sets. On a Saturday night the writer and her husband ordered Pungwol, a monaka (crisp wafer) dessert set, along with Su, a clear drink that looks like the Milky Way, and Mok, an alcohol-free drink made to resemble makgeolli, and drank them facing the night sea through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Suwolgyeonghwa suits a quiet Busan date course after dinner.

On a Saturday night, my husband and I went on a date to Songjeong!

*Recommended Busan café*

After dinner we were looking for somewhere to go and ended up at Suwolgyeonghwa (수월경화). If you're looking for a Busan café with great atmosphere, it's worth a visit at least once. What's special about Suwolgyeonghwa is that the day and night vibes are completely different — after the sun goes down, it runs under a separate theme called 'bamsimal' (밤마실, night stroll). I heard there are menu items you can only get during bamsimal, so I went in with high expectations.

- 📍 Location: 188 Songjeongjungang-ro 6beon-gil, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea
- ⏰ Hours: 11:00–23:00 (last order 22:30)
- 🚘 Parking: Building piloti parking or Songjeong Blue Parking Lot (free)

## What is Suwolgyeonghwa like at night?

Suwolgyeonghwa was an immersive space from the moment we walked in. The vibe was really unique right from the start — it felt less like walking into a café and more like stepping into a media art exhibition, totally absorbed into the space itself!

The lighting was soft and the whole place felt quiet and calm, so visiting at night made the space feel even more distinct.

There were traditional Korean elements neatly woven throughout, giving it a different feel from your typical aesthetic café.

*Recommended Busan café*

There are so many cafés in Songjeong, but a space with this kind of atmosphere is rare, so it would suit anyone looking for a standout Songjeong café.

### The Songjeong night sea through the floor-to-ceiling windows

The highlight was definitely the night view of the sea in front of Songjeong beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows!

It was a calmer night view than Gwangalli or Haeundae — a different, but equally impressive, kind of scenery.

## What is on the bamsimal (night stroll) menu?

Bamsimal is a theme that runs after sunset, so there are menu items you can't get during the day. That night, we ordered Pungwol, Su, and Mok.

![Suwolgyeonghwa's bamsimal menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-bammasil-night-cafe-date/songjeong-bammasil-night-cafe-date-07-1bmux-966.webp)

- Pungwol – monaka dessert set
- Su – jasmine · lemon · soda · Milky Way, a refreshing drink you taste with your eyes first
- Mok – chamomile · coconut · milk · cream, a drink that looks like makgeolli but won't get you drunk

Even the menu names were different from your typical café items, so it was fun looking through each one.

## Tasting our way through Suwolgyeonghwa's night menu

My husband and I visited on a Saturday night, and I actually think night was the right call.

We could enjoy tea and dessert in a quiet atmosphere, plus take in the darkened Songjeong night view — perfect for a date.

### Su, the Milky Way drink you taste with your eyes first

Su is made with jasmine, lemon, soda, and Milky Way. True to its name, it's fun to look at, so I started snapping photos the moment it arrived.

The coloring seemed to capture the look of the Milky Way, and it was pretty — the subtle jasmine scent combined with lemon and soda for a lovely refreshing taste.

### Mok, the alcohol-free drink that looks like makgeolli

Personally, the most fun menu item was Mok. Made with chamomile, coconut, milk, and cream, it visually reminds you of makgeolli — but there's actually no alcohol in it!

It had a smooth, creamy feel, quite different from the refreshing 'Su.' Each menu item had a clear concept fitting the bamsimal theme, which made trying them all the more enjoyable.

### Pungwol, the monaka (crisp wafer) dessert set

This is the monaka dessert set, Pungwol. Since it's built around monaka (a wafer dessert), it paired well with tea, and I loved the neat, tidy presentation.

![Neatly arranged monaka dessert](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-bammasil-night-cafe-date/songjeong-bammasil-night-cafe-date-13-18jaa-966.webp)

Eating the sweet dessert alongside tea naturally slowed us down. It was a great menu to linger over while chatting with my husband.

## Is Suwolgyeonghwa worth adding to a Busan date course?

Suwolgyeonghwa, which I visited while looking for a great-atmosphere café in Busan.

![Night view of Suwolgyeonghwa's space](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-bammasil-night-cafe-date/songjeong-bammasil-night-cafe-date-14-l4hgu-966.webp)

From the entrance, it felt like an immersive media art exhibition, with a quiet, calm atmosphere, Korean-style interior details, and a bamsimal menu you can only enjoy at night — all the elements came together well. If you're looking for a slightly different Songjeong café, or a Busan date course to head to after dinner, this is worth a visit at least once.
