## In short

Usiya is a Korean beef omakase restaurant in Seomyeon, Busanjin, Busan. Course A, 79,000 won, moved from yuk sashimi and beef tongue through grilled cuts, sukiyaki, sotbap, and dessert. Verdict: a memorable choice for a special beef dinner with plenty of different cuts.

## Looking for a Korean beef omakase course in Seomyeon?

I went to Seomyeon in Busan for a proper beef course for the first time in ages! 🥩🥩🥩 There are so many good places to eat in Seomyeon that I had a hard time deciding, but the place I visited this time was Usiya (우시야) Seomyeon~~(●'◡'●)

Rather than grilling your own meat as at a typical barbecue restaurant, this is a beef omakase course where an expert grills each Korean beef cut to its best doneness. It was perfect for someone like me who wants to try a wide range of cuts. It is especially worth considering for a Seomyeon date, an anniversary dinner, or a beef restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We went in saying, “Let’s really eat well today!!”

### Usiya Seomyeon location and visitor information

It is behind the Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch in Seomyeon, so it is an easy enough walk from Seomyeon Station. There is no dedicated parking, so if you are driving, it is best to use a nearby paid parking lot.

![Exterior of Usiya Seomyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-01-1u17o-900.webp)

The overall atmosphere is dim and warm! Most seats are counter-style, so you can watch the staff grilling the meat right in front of you. There is one table seat.

## Usiya Seomyeon Korean beef omakase menu

Usiya Seomyeon offers course menus as well as individual beef cuts.

Course A is ₩79,000 and lets you taste several cuts of beef starting with beef tongue. From yuk sashimi to grilled meat, oxtail, sukiyaki, and sotbap (rice cooked in a stone pot), it is a great lineup for enjoying varied beef cuts and a full meal! Course B is ₩59,000 and is a slightly lighter option than Course A. You can also skip the course and choose whichever cuts you want à la carte.

You can also order motsunabe, and besides soju and beer, there was a wide selection of Japanese-style drinks. They even have Asahi draft beer! We ordered Course A so we could try lots of cuts at once!

## Usiya Course A begins!!!

We had Course A! Our order that day went: tasting sashimi → beef tongue → tenderloin → salchisal → jebi churi → buchae-sal → upjin-sal → marinated grilled oxtail → sukiyaki → sotbap & kimchi stew → sungnyung → ice cream. Let’s go through it one by one.

Here is the set of basic side dishes. They were great accompaniments to the meat.

![Basic side dishes served with the Korean beef course](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-06-gfxdy-605.webp)

First up was the tasting sashimi, yuk sashimi (seasoned raw beef). It came topped with seasoning, so you just pop it straight into your mouth and it melts away. Satisfied from the very first bite.

### From beef tongue to tenderloin and salchisal

🥩 Beef tongue. The first grilled item was beef tongue! The staff grilled it for us at Usiya too, which was nice because we could eat it at just the right time. It was mild and chewy from the first bite, and being able to try a special cut like beef tongue is a pretty appealing point for anyone looking for Korean beef omakase or a beef course in Seomyeon! With a meat expert grilling every piece, expensive Korean beef somehow tastes even better haha.

Isn’t beer the perfect match for meat? hahaha. A bite of beef followed by a cold sip of beer went so well together! The beer refreshed my palate after each richer cut, so I just kept eating hahaha. We had such a delicious meat-and-beer pairing that day 🍺😋

🥩 Tenderloin. The tenderloin was, of course, tender. The staff grilled it and cut it into easy-to-eat pieces, and every bite was so juicy! It was genuinely soft and delicious. The great thing about a course like this is that instead of eating a lot of one cut, you get to taste many cuts in small portions!

![Juicy Korean beef tenderloin](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-13-mcorg-900.webp)

🥩 Salchisal. Then came salchisal! You can see the marbling just from the photo, right...? It was so rich and delicious. There is nothing else to say except delicious... The foil-wrapped item is king oyster mushroom; roasting it while trapping in the moisture made it incredibly juicy and almost as good as the meat.

### Jebi churi, buchae-sal, and grilled vegetables

🥩 Jebi churi. Next was jebi churi! You do not usually get to eat special cuts like this unless you deliberately seek them out even at a regular barbecue place, so tasting several cuts in a course and comparing them was a different kind of fun. And the flavor? What is there to say~ so, so good~~~

![Jebi churi, a special Korean beef cut](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-15-1x0hh-900.webp)

![Korean beef jebi churi served in the course](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-16-z5h1t-900.webp)

🥩 Buchae-sal. Then buchae-sal! This cut has its characteristic sinew running through it, giving it a chewy texture; it can sometimes seem tough, but Usiya’s was tender and lovely haha.

![Chewy-textured Korean beef buchae-sal](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-17-2q52r-900.webp)

And one thing I quietly loved! It was not only meat—they grilled vegetables such as zucchini, eggplant, and mushrooms along the way too. Eating a vegetable or two between bites of meat cut through the richness, and they paired better than I expected.

🥩 Marinated grilled meat! Oxtail. The mood shifted slightly here; because this was marinated, it had a distinctly different flavor from the beef we had eaten before.

## The final meal: sukiyaki and sotbap

🍲 Sukiyaki. And then another dish arrives: sukiyaki! The grilled meat portion was over, and the meal dishes began. It arrived nicely simmered, so we could dig straight in.

![Beef sukiyaki served as the meal course](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-21-18okc-734.webp)

It had beef and vegetables in a sweet and salty soy-based broth. I already love sukiyaki and always eat it when I go to Japan, and Usiya’s sukiyaki was delicious too. You have to crack the egg yolk and dip the beef in it for sukiyaki, right? hahaha 🥚🥩

![Sukiyaki beef dipped in egg yolk](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-22-u90s9-900.webp)

🍚 The final meal was sotbap + kimchi stew. Finally, the last meal! The sotbap and kimchi stew arrived. The sotbap was freshly cooked, piping-hot rice, while the kimchi stew was not a brothy style but rather thick and rich, a little like gangdoenjang (thick soybean paste stew), so it was great with rice. I was completely full after the meat, but I still had room for this. Koreans and rice, honestly...

![Sotbap and rich kimchi stew meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-23-1lblz-900.webp)

I mixed it into the rice and wrapped it in seaweed, and although I was full, it still went down very well... Two pigs who came out to eat cow... 🐷🐷🐷

🍚 The last part of the sotbap was sungnyung (scorched-rice tea). And the true final step of the sotbap! After eating most of the rice, we poured water into the pot and finished with sungnyung.

![Sungnyung enjoyed to finish the sotbap](https://img.superchart.com/images/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya/seomyeon-hanwoo-course-ushiya-24-158i0-900.webp)

🍦 Perfect through the final dessert. And the real final course was Excellent ice cream! 🍦 Hahahahahaha, I was so happy to see this come out. After finishing the meat course and even the sotbap, I felt like I was going to burst, but the Excellent ice cream made for such a clean finish!

## What stood out at Usiya Seomyeon

After trying everything, I could see why people looking for a great beef restaurant or Korean beef omakase in Seomyeon visit Usiya so often. The best part was that they grilled the meat for us. And because it was an omakase course that ran from yuk sashimi through dessert instead of just one cut of meat, it felt like being treated to something special. The whole meal felt like one complete course.

I was particularly happy with the quality of the meat, but the king oyster mushroom, the final sotbap, and the sungnyung also stayed with me.

- When you want a special dinner in Seomyeon
- When you are looking for a good Seomyeon date restaurant
- When you want an atmospheric restaurant for an anniversary
- When you are looking for Korean beef omakase in Busan
- When you want to taste many beef cuts at once

I think it is a place worth keeping in mind at least once. I ate very, very well that day! 🥩❤️ If you especially love meat and are looking for a beef course in Seomyeon, Usiya may be worth a visit!
