## In short

Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch is a 24-hour gukbap (pork soup with rice) restaurant about 80 meters from Exit 3 of Cheonho Station in Gangdong, Seoul. Over lunch, the writer and her husband ordered one regular pork jowl gukbap (₩13,000) and one spicy version (₩14,000) plus a side of seasoned pollock salad (₩4,000) to compare the two broths. The pork jowl was tender and nutty, a different pleasure from the usual boiled-pork bowl, and seating that runs from solo counters to partitioned sofa booths suits both a meal alone and a group.

> A 24-hour gukbap restaurant right by Cheonho Station, from hearty broth to pork jowl

I was looking for somewhere hearty to eat lunch with my husband near Cheonho Station, and we ended up at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch. The gukbap menu was so varied it was fun just picking what to order — everything from regular boiled pork gukbap to pork jowl gukbap, pork bone soup, and spicy versions, so it's a place that suits solo meals, family dinners, and gatherings alike.

## Where is Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch, and how do you get there?

Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch is located at 654 Olympic-ro, 1st floor, unit 1, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. It's only about 80–88 meters from Exit 3 of Cheonho Station (Lines 5 and 8), right there facing the road, so it was really easy to find.

![Exterior of Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch near Exit 3 of Cheonho Station](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangjeong-gukbap-lunch/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangjeong-gukbap-lunch-03-1eomv-900.webp)

There's a bus stop right in front too, so it's a good spot for anyone coming by public transit, and it's close enough to Cheonho Station that dropping by for lunch felt effortless.

On top of that, it's open 24 hours a day, every day, which means you can come for breakfast or a late-night hangover cure just as easily as for lunch.

### Where to park at Boseung Hoegwan if you drive

If you're coming by car, there's ground-level and mechanical parking behind the building. Coming from the direction of Exit 3, pass the Lotteria and go through the passage under the Aladdin Used Bookstore sign, which leads to the parking lot at the back. The location is already great for public transit, but it was nice knowing there's parking available too.

## Inside Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch: seating and atmosphere

The restaurant stretches back further than it looks from outside, so it felt more spacious than expected.

With room for 50-plus people and fairly generous spacing between tables, it looked comfortable even for larger lunch groups. The overall mood was warm wood tones, clean and tidy, with a modern touch reminiscent of a hanok (traditional Korean house) that made it feel relaxing.

There were separate solo and two-person seats, so eating gukbap alone wouldn't feel awkward. On the flip side, there were also partitioned sofa booths and larger tables, great for families, friends, or coworkers. Each table had a tablet ordering system, so we could browse the menu at our own pace and order comfortably.

## Boseung Hoegwan menu and prices

## Tasting the regular and spicy pork jowl gukbap with seasoned pollock salad

My husband and I visited together and ordered one pork jowl gukbap and one spicy pork jowl gukbap, along with the pollock sashimi salad on the side.

My husband's pork jowl gukbap had a pale, rich broth with perilla powder and chili paste lightly stirred in, topped generously with chives and pork jowl. The broth felt weighty but wasn't overly greasy, so it wasn't heavy going from the first spoonful.

The pork jowl was what set it apart from a regular boiled-pork gukbap. It had that distinctive savory quality from the mix of fat and lean meat, and the meat itself was tender, pairing well with the broth. The portion was generous too, and with rice mixed in it made a fully satisfying lunch.

I ordered the spicy pork jowl gukbap. The deep red broth loaded with chives and pork jowl looked spicy just from the color. It really did have a solid kick, but it finished clean rather than heavy or lingering.

The savory, tender pork jowl paired well with the spicy broth, and it seemed like it would work great as a hangover cure. Even with the same pork jowl gukbap, the regular and spicy versions had quite different characters, which was nice since you can choose based on your mood.

The pollock sashimi salad we ordered as a side went surprisingly well with the meal. It came piled high, spicy and tangy, sprinkled with sesame seeds. Chives were mixed in too, making it look appetizing. The pollock had a chewy bite and the sauce was spicy-sweet, so it worked as a nice palate refresher alongside the plain broth.

It went well spooned on top of the gukbap with the meat, or eaten separately like a side dish. Here's how the side dishes came out — knowing they were domestically sourced made it easier to enjoy.

## What sets Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch apart

What stood out most at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch was definitely being open 24 hours, every day. Most gukbap restaurants can be hard to visit early in the morning or late at night, but here you can get a warm bowl of gukbap regardless of the time, which makes it very versatile.

There's also a wide range of choices, from familiar options like sundae gukbap and boiled pork gukbap to pork jowl gukbap, pork bone soup, offal gukbap, and osori gukbap, plus the hell gukbap and hangover ramyeon with adjustable spice levels, so there's something for every taste. The variety of seating, from solo counters to group tables, was another plus, making it comfortable whether you're eating alone or with several people.

## Final verdict on lunch at Boseung Hoegwan

We came for lunch, and with such a wide gukbap lineup, I found myself wanting to come back and try other menu items too. I had the plain pork jowl gukbap while my husband had the spicy version, and ordering the same dish in regular and spicy made it fun to compare the two.

The pork jowl in particular was tender and savory, giving it a different charm from a regular boiled-pork gukbap, and with the pollock sashimi salad on the side, we left lunch feeling fully satisfied :) It's close to Exit 3 of Cheonho Station, open 24 hours, and comfortable whether you're eating solo or with a group — worth a visit if you're looking for gukbap or hangover soup in the Cheonho-dong area!
