I tried its signature seafood rice bowl with extra uni, loving the thick, springy sashimi and rich ankimo most of all. With my hair swishing along, I got hungry and started wondering what to eat. Then I remembered a kaisendon spot in Hapjeong that I’d had my eye on! I checked whether it was open today~~ and it was~~ aaah! Then I had to go right away~~ let’s gooo~~! haha Walk straight from Exit 8 of Hapjeong Station toward the Prugio shopping area, and once you reach Meokgeori Matgil, there is Makise Hapjeong right in front of you!! I love that thoughtful touch of being able to check the menu first~~~ hehe. The various posters are adorable, the lighting is pretty, and the plant décor suits the space so well that I felt comfortable even on my own. It would be difficult for a group of more than 10 to sit together, but there are seats from solo spots to tables for four, so there is a good range of seating!! haha I think it would be great for anyone dining alone like me, hehe. It was almost the end of lunchtime, but there were already quite a few customers eating there even though it was a weekday! A Hapjeong favorite really is different~~~ haha. It is Makise Hapjeong’s signature menu, and one I had thought, “When I come to Hapjeong someday, I absolutely have to try this!” haha It comes with 13 pieces: two kinds of white fish, tuna, salmon, two kinds of seasonal sashimi, shrimp, squid, ankimo (monkfish liver), and more!! I love this kind of tea, like barley tea, rather than plain water! haha I always think places that serve brown tea like this at sashimi restaurants have great attention to detail, and the tea here was tasty too, so it put me in an even better mood~~ Off to one side, there is an adorable guide for people trying kaisendon for the first time! haha A tip I discovered too late is that they will serve you one extra piece of sushi using the sashimi you enjoyed! Why didn’t I notice while taking photos? With so many kinds of sashimi, I really, really had to think about what to eat first, but of course I immediately picked up the white fish! haha Ahhh~~~~~~ The sashimi was so springy and glossy that I could tell the fish had been handled really well!! It tasted wonderfully springy tooㅠㅠㅠㅠ It looked so stunning that I took one more close-up photo!! Compared with other places, the springy texture felt more alive, and a subtle savoriness lingered in my mouth, making me want another whole bowl!! I keep craving that texture even as I write this! I want to run straight to Hapjeong right now!!! Can you see the disappearing sashimi and the growing empty spacesㅠㅠ? It was so, so rich and delicious!! Such a deep flavor!!ㅠㅠ Wrapped in seaweed, it was seriously, seriously so good that I wanted to order about 600 grams and keep scooping it up with a spoon. Like ice cream! Hahaha. And the extra uni tasted fresher than it did heavy! I still remember its bright, clean aroma without any fishiness!! After finishing everything and patting my full belly, I felt truly satisfied, hehe. The space is cozy, comfortable, and pretty, and Makise Hapjeong is somewhere you would be happy whether you come alone, as a pair, or as four people!!! It is a Hapjeong restaurant I really want to make sure people know about!
