Just follow the residential entrance all the way in. At the parking garage entrance you pass through a retail-only barrier gate. Near the entrance to the barrier is closer to the Building A elevator, while the exit side of the barrier is closer to the Building B elevator. I heard it's an older salon, but the interior was kept remarkably clean, and above all, it was quite large. There was even a separate hand-washing area near the entrance. I heard it was set up during the pandemic so people could wash their hands before entering. Originally the entrance was planned to be before this hand-washing area, but since the pandemic ended, they made the entrance come after the hand-washing space instead. There was also a kids' playroom that's great if you're visiting with a child. This seemed really special. Kids get bored and go a bit wild when they come to a salon with their parents, but if you put them in there, they'd probably play quietly. Exploring the salon was fun on its own, so I kept looking around the interior even though I was just there for a treatment. Before the treatment started, I was offered a drink. There were so many options. I got an orange juice and an Americano. The ice was so cute — kids would love it. I had a lot of gray hair at the roots, and there was quite a noticeable color difference from my previously dyed hair. Once you start worrying about gray hair, you end up getting root touch-ups regularly, and since my scalp is on the sensitive side, it was nice that the irritation wasn't severe this time. ## From the shampoo room to the finish After the dye was done, I moved to the shampoo area inside. The shampoo area had the lighting turned down quite low overall, which surprised me at first, but once I actually lay down, it felt strangely calming. I also liked that they covered my eyes with a disposable eye cover during the shampoo. Lying comfortably with my eyes covered helped me relax, and the scalp massage they gave was really refreshing. The relaxing time during the shampoo ended up being more memorable than the dyeing itself. ## How did the roots look after the dye? The color difference between my roots and existing hair that had stood out before the treatment was smoothed over, and overall it looked much tidier. When a lot of gray hair has grown in, the roots can bother you no matter how nicely the rest of your hair is styled, but after getting this sorted out, my whole head definitely looked neater. I think this Dongtan dye job, rather than a dramatic color change, is a great fit for anyone who wants to naturally keep their current hair color while just tidying up the roots.
