## In short

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is a pho (Vietnamese rice noodle soup) restaurant on the first floor of the Richian shopping arcade at Dongtan Station in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. Visiting alone on a weekday at 11:30am, the writer found the place already nearly full, waited outside for a number call, then ordered brisket-and-flank pho with fried shrimp-potato rolls — one bowl alone would have been plenty. I had a solo lunch to eat near Dongtan Station, so I looked around for a place and ended up at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch.

I usually love pho, and I'd seen a lot of talk about how Mibundang is good for eating alone, so this was a solo visit.

I got there around 11:30am for lunch, and there were way more people than I expected. The place was already almost full, and looking around, quite a few people were dining alone too. It really felt like a spot a lot of office workers around Dongtan Station come to for lunch.

What I ordered that day was two things: brisket-flank pho and fried shrimp-potato rolls.

Bottom line first: the portions were huge. One bowl of pho alone would've been enough, but with the side dish too, I walked out pretty stuffed.

※ Business hours and menu prices may change depending on when you visit or how the store is being run, so I'd recommend checking before you go.

## Where Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is and how to get in

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is on the first floor of the Richian arcade at Dongtan Station.

If you park underground and come up, you can see Mibundang from inside, but you can't walk straight in from there — you have to go outside, and turning right, Mibundang is right there!

## Order outside, then go in when your number is called

You order outside, and while you wait, they'll call your number. On the day I visited it was crowded, so I waited outside before going in too.

It's an order-outside-then-enter system!

There are umbrellas and drinks set out for people waiting. There's a chair right in front, so I sat there with a parasol and got called in pretty quickly.

I'd come alone for lunch that day, and arriving around 11:30, there were already quite a lot of people inside. I thought, 'I figured I came early, but there are already this many people?'

Looking around, there were a lot of solo diners, as well as groups of office workers together. So right away I thought — this must be a spot office workers near Dongtan Station come to for lunch a lot.

## An atmosphere that was comfortable for eating alone

If you're new to Mibundang, you might be curious about the vibe inside. Before going alone, I wondered, 'Will it be okay by myself?' — but once I got there, that worry turned out to be completely unnecessary.

There were quite a few solo diners, and everyone seemed focused on their own meal, which actually made it easier to eat alone. As someone eating lunch by myself, I liked not having to worry about what others were thinking.

It was crowded because of lunchtime, but overall it felt less like a noisy restaurant and more like a place where everyone eats quickly and heads out.

The space is arranged efficiently. There are coat hooks on the wall behind each seat, so you can hang up your coat and bag.

CESCO pest control sticker — you can tell the place is kept clean. If you're looking for somewhere to eat alone near Dongtan Station, I felt this was an easy place to visit without much pressure.

## What I ordered and the prices

What I ordered that day was simple: brisket-flank pho and fried shrimp-potato rolls.

Mibundang has several kinds of pho — brisket pho, flank pho, brisket-flank pho, brisket-flank-tendon pho — plus side dishes.

![Mibundang pho and side dish menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho-12-1j3ac-966.webp)

I picked the brisket-flank pho so I could have both brisket and flank together. On top of that I added the fried shrimp-potato rolls as a side.

- Brisket pho ₩10,000
- Flank pho ₩11,500
- Brisket-flank pho ₩12,500
- Brisket-flank-tendon pho ₩13,000
- Tendon pho ₩14,000
- Sweet potato spring rolls ₩3,000
- Scallop spring rolls ₩3,000
- Fried shrimp-potato rolls ₩3,500
- Wedding shumai ₩3,000
- Buffalo wings ₩3,500
- Assorted fried platter ₩8,500

## Trying the brisket-flank pho

When my pho arrived, the first thing I thought was, 'This is really a lot.'

From the meat to the noodles, the overall portion was substantial — enough that one bowl alone would keep you quite full. With both brisket and flank piled on, it especially pleased me as someone who loves meat.

The broth was pretty clean-tasting, so I tried it plain first.

### There's detailed guidance on how to eat with the sauces

Something fun about Mibundang was that there's fairly detailed guidance on how to eat with the sauces. There's an explanation of how to mix the sauces on the table, so even a first-time visitor can follow it easily.

Above each seat there's hot sauce, chili sauce, and hoisin sauce.

I just followed the instructions as given, and it was simply delicious. No need to agonize over combinations — following the guide paired well with the pho.

You can also add cilantro to your pho.

If you like cilantro, add it to taste; if you can't stand it, you don't have to add any at all. I tried the basic flavor first that day, then added it to taste. (Extra cilantro for me~)

## I also tried the fried shrimp-potato rolls

![Fried shrimp-potato rolls side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho-18-13bth-966.webp)

The side I ordered was the fried shrimp-potato rolls — plump shrimp wrapped in crispy potato strands — and it went well alongside the pho.

![Table set with fried shrimp-potato rolls and brisket-flank pho](https://img.superchart.com/images/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho-19-1e8fa-966.webp)

With pho alone you mostly focus on broth and noodles, but having the shrimp rolls in between changed up the texture nicely.

That said, if you're visiting alone, one bowl of pho can be plenty filling on its own, so whether to add a side probably depends on your appetite.

I ordered both that day and ended up quite full. Still, I finished the whole bowl in the end.

## Parking: one hour free

If you're driving there, you're probably curious about parking too.

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch uses the Dongtan Station Richian arcade building's parking lot, and I got one hour of free parking support with my meal.

![Underground parking lot at the Dongtan Station Richian arcade](https://img.superchart.com/images/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho-21-nm76t-966.webp)

![Sign showing one hour of free parking](https://img.superchart.com/images/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho/midangdang-dongtan-station-beef-brisket-pho-22-39da6-966.webp)

The parking lot goes down to B4, so that's worth knowing when you're looking for a spot.

Parking is always a bit of a concern when eating near Dongtan Station, but with one hour free, it's a low-pressure option if you're just there for a meal. That said, the parking support method and free duration could change, so it's best to check the signage when you visit.

## After trying it myself

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch was the kind of pho restaurant that comes to mind when looking for a solo lunch near Dongtan Station.

Even though I arrived around 11:30, the place was already packed, so it's clearly a popular lunch spot. But there were plenty of solo diners too, so going in alone felt completely fine.

Above all, what I liked most was the portion size. One bowl of brisket-flank pho alone is quite filling, and with the fried shrimp-potato rolls on top, I left really full.

The sauce guide was detailed enough that even a first-time visit wasn't confusing, and it was nice that cilantro lovers could add it to their liking.

Personally, I tend to avoid pho places that feel awkward to walk into alone, but here, solo diners were eating naturally, so there was no such pressure.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat alone near Dongtan Station, or a hearty pho for an office worker's lunch, I think this is worth a visit.

Next time I come back, I think I'll order the brisket-flank pho again like this time. Since I had the side dish too this time, next time I'll focus on just the one bowl of pho.
