## In short

Jojomomo is a Korean bar in Songpa, Seoul, tucked into the Bangi-dong food alley. I stopped by for a third round and had nurungji dongdongju, spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon, and nurungji ice cream amid moody lighting and an antique-style interior. This time, I visited Jojomomo (조조모모), a lovely atmospheric bar in Bangi-dong, Jamsil! If you are looking for a bar for a second or third round in the Bangi-dong food alley, I really want to recommend Jojomomo, a Korean bar with great vibes too!! I fell for the atmosphere the moment I went downstairs, then fell for the better-than-expected quality of the food all over again, haha.

There were couples on dates, tables of friends, and larger groups visiting too. Since it is a Korean bar, the menu felt familiar but was put together in slightly unexpected ways, which made choosing drinking snacks fun!

## Jojomomo location and hours

Mon–Fri 17:00–02:00 the next day
Sat–Sun 15:00–02:00 the next day

Jojomomo is a Korean bar tucked inside the Bangi-dong food alley. Its address is B1, 16 Ogeum-ro 11-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and it is not difficult to find from the alley. When I went, I walked straight in from the Olive Young alley in Bangi-dong, spotted Daebbang Arcade, and found the building entrance to Jojomomo right beside it.

Jojomomo is on the basement level, so just head down the stairs, haha. But even the entrance stairs did not feel like those of an ordinary bar.

The walls were decorated moodily too, so on the way down I was already thinking, “Oh, this place is going to have nice vibes?” There are plenty of busy, casual bars in the Bangi-dong food alley, but Jojomomo feels more atmospheric, so it seems perfect for a date or drinks somewhere with a little mood!!

## Moody lighting and an antique-style Korean bar

When I opened the door and went in, it was dim overall with soft lighting, and the atmosphere was seriously lovely! Antique-style furniture, music, and large speakers came together in a space that felt less like coming out for a meal and more like properly going out for drinks.

Jojomomo operates as a Korean bar and has bar seating too, so it works for solo drinks, dates, and drinking gatherings alike!! We visited just before 6 p.m. on a weekend, yet there were already quite a lot of customers 👏👏👏 There were lots of reserved tables, and only bar seats or two-person tables seemed to be left! Luckily, one two-person table was available, so we sat down right away, haha.

There were quite a few couples as well as tables of friends, so it really felt like a Bangi-dong bar visited by all kinds of people 🙏 Bars with this sort of atmosphere can sometimes have difficult or polarizing menus, but Jojomomo centers on Korean food, so it did not seem to come with that pressure.

## Korean drinking snacks and a wide traditional alcohol menu

Looking over the Jojomomo menu, there was honestly much more variety than I expected! Signature dishes included boiled pork ribs, cream tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), seaweed-wrapped steamed scallops, mul dakgalbi (brothy spicy chicken), gochujang pork stew, scallop fish-cake soup, kimchi spicy pork with crispy tofu, whelk noodles with flat dumplings, and dressed tuna with flat dumplings.

There were also many kinds of jeon (Korean savory pancakes), including pollock roe cheese potato jeon, octopus seafood kimchi jeon, spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon, chive and Korean mint jeon, and meat patties. They looked like ordinary Korean dishes at first, but the slightly different combinations were fun. Sides included tuna aged-kimchi rolls, dried persimmon cream-cheese rolls, Korean melon salad, omija tomato, boneless fried chicken, warm anchovy noodles, and tuna bibimbap.

There were also lovely after-drinks options such as pineapple sherbet, nurungji ice cream, corn ice cream, and iced soft persimmon ☺️ Along with the usual soju and beer, there were refined rice wines, yakju, dongdongju, fruit wines, and distilled spirits—such a wide selection. Jojomomo also explains its range of traditional drinks, so it seems especially suited to anyone wanting to try something new instead of the usual soju or beer!!

Looking at the menu, we suddenly wanted to order something other than the soju we usually drink too, you know? 😆

- Signature nurungji dongdongju ₩12,000
- Nurungji ice cream ₩5,500

## Welcome drink and signature nurungji dongdongju

After we ordered, they brought complimentary snacks along with a welcome drink. Ours was Jirisan Gangsoeju, and even though I do not usually drink much yakju, I enjoyed it more than expected!! Its distinctive aroma was not too overwhelming and it went down cleanly, so it was nice even as a drink I had never tried before. Being able to taste a new drink as a welcome drink was another fun point at Jojomomo, haha.

Since we ordered dongdongju, they brought us dongdongju cups, but I noticed the next table could choose their own glasses! It was fun that they paid attention to even little details like that.

The nurungji dongdongju we had been waiting for arrived first! It is Jojomomo’s signature dongdongju, and just as its name suggests, it had the savory flavor of nurungji (scorched rice)!! At first, it was so full of slushy ice that it was hard to pour, but I actually loved that, lol.

![Icy nurungji dongdongju](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo-17-1b685-900.webp)

I poured a glass and took a sip. It went down cold and smooth, starting with a gentle sweetness before the distinctive toasty, nutty aroma of nurungji came through 🥹 It was not just sweet dongdongju; it had that savory flavor too, making me want to keep drinking it. Maybe because I already love nurungji so much, but it was totally my kind of drink, lol. It really came into its own with spicy food in particular.

## Spicy kimchi jeon piled generously with bulgogi

A little later, our spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon arrived. Wow... the visual was no joke from the very first moment, lol. One huge kimchi jeon came on an enormous plate, and instead of sitting there all by itself, it was absolutely covered in chunky bulgogi topping 👏👏👏

There was so much bulgogi that I thought, “Are they allowed to put this much meat on top?” lol. Onion soy sauce came in the center for dipping the pancake too. The pancake itself had the spicy, salty flavor of kimchi, while the bulgogi added meaty umami and its gently sweet seasoning! It was definitely more layered than kimchi jeon on its own.

![Kimchi jeon topped with bulgogi](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo-19-1xiyw-900.webp)

True to its name, the spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon had a slightly spicy, punchy flavor that made it great with drinks 😆 You could taste the meat’s distinctive flavor when chewing the bulgogi, and the crisp edges and moist center of the kimchi jeon came together so every bite felt packed with flavor!

![A plate of spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo-20-n1rmc-900.webp)

And it went so well with the nurungji dongdongju!! The drink’s sweet, nutty flavor gently softened the spicy, salty kimchi jeon, so they seemed to balance each other out. Take a bite of spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon, then a sip of dongdongju, and the punchy flavor left in your mouth clears away—making you want another bite right away 😋 haha. It really made me think that jeon is best with makgeolli or dongdongju!

## Nurungji ice cream, even on a third round

Honestly, we came here for our third round, so we were already pretty full, lol. The spicy bulgogi kimchi jeon was so good that I wanted to keep eating it, but after drinking the dongdongju too, I felt like my stomach was seriously about to burst... 🤣 So for a final palate cleanser, we ordered nurungji ice cream! Nurungji again, lol. I really showed how much I love nurungji that day, hahaha.

![Nurungji ice cream dessert](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo/bangidong-nurungji-dongdongju-jojomomo-23-1ynpl-900.webp)

Maybe because it was ice cream, it came out at almost lightning speed after we ordered. About four pieces of crisp grilled nurungji, in easy-to-eat sizes, were stuck into vanilla ice cream. This combination simply cannot taste bad, haha. The smooth, sweet vanilla ice cream with the crisp, nutty nurungji was fun in texture and worked so well together 🧡

After continuing with drinks and food, cold, sweet ice cream at the end was perfect as a palate cleanser. You might think dessert would not go down when you are this full, but a little ice-cream drinking snack somehow still does, right? Hahaha.

## How was it as a Bangi-dong bar for a second or third round?

If you are looking for an atmospheric bar in Bangi-dong, Jamsil, I would happily recommend Jojomomo!! What I liked most was the atmosphere. Since it is in a basement, I wondered what it would feel like at first, but once I went down, the dim lighting and antique-style mood worked beautifully together, making it a space that suited both dates and drinks with friends ☺️

As a Korean bar, it naturally has lots of familiar dishes, but rather than selling only standard Korean drinking snacks, it has many familiar dishes with interesting combinations added, making the menu fun to choose from 😆 Another great thing was the truly wide selection of alcohol! You can encounter yakju, dongdongju, distilled spirits, and more, so I think it would be fun even for people who usually enjoy trying new drinks 🙌

It is a great fit when you want drinks on a date, want to chat with friends somewhere a little more atmospheric, or want distinctive Korean drinking snacks and traditional drinks for a second or third round! Even if you arrive already full like we did, the wide choice of sides and desserts makes it nice to enjoy lightly.
