I had some time to kill between finishing my morning work and lunch, so I decided to go to a café. I went to Bakerist Brown, a bakery café near Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon Stations. It's located right between Sinnonhyeon (Line 9, Sinbundang Line) and Gangnam Station (Line 2, Sinbundang Line).

From the outside it looked like a 3-story building, but once inside, Bakerist Brown turned out to be a huge bakery café that even extends down to the basement.

There are tables outside too. It has that European sidewalk café vibe.

## The 1st-floor bread display at Bakerist Brown: salt bread and Gangnam Sand

Wow!! The place was packed with freshly baked, delicious bread. The moment we walked in, this amazing smell hit us — my husband said it was such a good vibe, haha. That nutty butter aroma filled the whole first floor. I looked it up and apparently the salt bread and Gangnam Sand are the famous items.

Inside the fridge showcase were mouthwatering dessert cakes and Gangnam Sand. It's fig season right now, so there were fig-topped queen amann and croissants too. Gangnam Sand comes in 8 flavors total, and buying a set works out cheaper than buying pieces individually.

I ordered a flat white, a salted cream coffee, and Gangnam Sand. They told me the Gangnam Sand was just being made, so it would take a little time for all the flavors to come out, but I decided to wait and try it.

## Seating floor by floor, from the semi-basement to the 3rd-floor private room

The 1st floor of Bakerist Brown is for ordering, while the basement, 2nd, and 3rd floors are for sitting and eating.

Since we came right when it opened, there weren't many people. It's called a basement, but it's actually a semi-basement.

This is the 2nd floor space. There are large tables too, so Bakerist Brown would be good for groups.

There's a separate, independent space on the 3rd floor. Each floor has a similar-yet-different vibe overall. It's decorated with vintage, sentimental interiors and plants.

The restrooms are located differently on each floor, just so you know.

Seats were plentiful too, so after some deliberation, we settled into a sofa seat by the window on the 2nd floor.

A big tree visible through the window and the heart of downtown Gangnam beyond it... this is what weekend leisure is all about!

## How the raspberry blossom and peanut butter wave Gangnam Sand taste

Here's the Gangnam Sand I'd been waiting and waiting for. The colors are really lovely and pretty. It looked like it would taste luxurious right from the get-go — a sandwich cookie called Gangnam Sand. Since the colors don't look artificial, it looks even more upscale.

Just from the color, you can roughly guess the flavor, right?!

I tried the soft pink raspberry blossom and the peanut butter wave. The raspberry blossom had a tartness similar to strawberry, but with a deep raspberry flavor coming through. The peanut butter wave was a predictable combination of peanut and butter... but the buttery flavor was really excellent. It wasn't just peanut flavoring — there were whole peanuts inside, giving it a really nutty richness.

The filling between the sandwich cookies was delicious, but honestly the cookie itself tasted really premium too. This would make a great gift set to buy as well. They packed it in a box for us.

### Was the salted cream coffee at Bakerist Brown any good?

It had been a while since I'd had salted cream coffee. The cream on top had really smooth, fine texture. The saltiness wasn't too strong, and the cream and coffee blended together really harmoniously.

That was Bakerist Brown, a café between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon Stations with a spacious layout and a wide variety of baked goods. Lots of tables, and they didn't feel too cramped together... it was a great place to linger and take it easy.
