Hi, this is Monggeuri :D Today I'm sharing my review of a lamb specialty restaurant that has taken over the Jeongja-dong area in Bundang. Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb, Bundang Direct Branch is a super station-adjacent restaurant, just a 3-minute walk from Jeongja Station.

I found out about this Jeongja Station lamb specialty restaurant through my sister, and they sell special dishes I'd never heard of at regular lamb restaurants, like boiled lamb rib and lamb rib BBQ. Since I wanted to load up on protein with lamb after a long while, I chose Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb, Bundang Direct Branch as our meeting spot with friends.

These days the evenings are getting cool enough for outdoor dining, and this Jeongja Station restaurant has outdoor tables out front so you can enjoy that al fresco vibe too.

## How many people can book? Up to 36, private hire from 20

The interior of Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb, Bundang Direct Branch was really clean and pleasant. Since they can seat groups of 20+ privately, a lot of people come here for gatherings like me, or for company dinners near Jeongja Station.

It's a famous lamb specialty restaurant in Bundang, so it's usually packed with people, but I made a reservation through Naver beforehand and got seated right away without waiting.

You can reserve through Naver Place. Since you can book up to 36 people, it's a great spot for a company dinner near Jeongja Station. The atmosphere is so cozy and nice that I'd strongly recommend it for date nights too, not just dinners.

When you reserve through Naver, you get a corkage-free coupon that lets you drink with no bottle limit 🍾 Corkage-free restaurants aren't common in Bundang, and no bottle limit on top of that means anyone who loves drinking absolutely has to visit this Bundang lamb specialty restaurant.

## Menu prices and the banchan table setting

When you think of lamb, you probably think of lamb skewers or lamb ribs, but at Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb you can meet special, delicious lamb dishes. They have a variety of lamb rib dishes like boiled lamb rib, lamb rib BBQ, and shoulder rack grilled lamb. If you order the couple set or the 3-person set, you can enjoy a variety of dishes more affordably, so I'd recommend ordering a set.

The basic table setting came with dressed napa cabbage salad and a 6-compartment plate filled with various sauces and side dishes.

Looking at what was on the 6-compartment plate: wasabi mayo, lamb boiled meat sauce, BBQ sauce, herb jjiran, lettuce stem gungchae, and roasted peanuts. There was a tablet screen showing which sauce pairs well with which lamb dish! And it was even nicer that they set the basic table according to the number of people.

Self-serve aprons were available at the counter for anyone to use freely.

When you order a set menu, you get a main dish (lamb rib BBQ / boiled lamb rib / shoulder rack grilled lamb) along with mandu gangjeong (crispy fried dumplings) and spicy hangover hot pot.

The lamb rib BBQ came out, and the owner torched it right in front of us for extra smoky flavor. The lamb rib BBQ, coated in Yangmadam's special BBQ sauce, came with nacho chips and dipping sauce.

I took one bite and was genuinely floored — the lamb ribs melt in your mouth! It was my first time having lamb ribs cooked BBQ-style like this, and it was totally my type. The texture of the lamb was so tender and the spicy-sweet sauce paired perfectly. My friends were all raving about it too — one of the dishes we praised the most 👍🏻

### Mandu gangjeong and spicy hangover hot pot

Mandu gangjeong comes out as crispy fried dumplings coated in citron sauce. The tangy-sweet citron sauce was so delicious! It was so good I ate it twice haha.

Next up was the spicy hangover hot pot. It's a spicy soup based on lamb broth, sprinkled with nutty perilla powder, and packed with lamb meat, bean sprouts, and water dropwort.

You could add ramyeon noodles or udon noodles to the hot pot, so I got udon noodles. Eating the udon noodles with the spicy broth was so good. The broth was really rich and tasty, the kind of flavor that makes you crave rice or noodles.

## Boiled lamb ribs, lamb at its plainest

There's no skipping the boiled lamb rib either. This was another lamb dish I'd never seen before, so I had no idea what to expect — and it turned out to be another kind of heaven ❤️

The lamb meat in the boiled rib was really soft and tender, melting in your mouth.

This dish let me taste the pure flavor of lamb the most. Dipped in the lamb boiled meat sauce with a bit of chives, it's absolutely delicious! Both the lamb rib BBQ and the boiled lamb rib had zero gamey smell typical of lamb, and the texture was chewy yet tender — really tasty.

## What to drink: Baekseju saengjjabaegi

Even though it's a corkage-free lamb specialty restaurant in Bundang, a lot of my friends aren't big drinkers, so we didn't bring our own alcohol. I noticed baekseju on the drinks menu and got curious, so I ordered it. When you order it on the rocks, they give you ice and a glass to mix it yourself.

It was clean and paired really well with the lamb, going down so smoothly haha. Since they provide straight glasses, rock glasses, and even ice if you bring your own alcohol, I'm planning to bring a nice gaoliang liquor next time!
