## In short

MUSEO is a Korean fine-dining restaurant built around seasonal ingredients, on the basement level a 4-minute walk from Yangjae Station Exit 2 in Seocho, Seoul. The weekday chef's tasting course is 109,000 won per person, and dinner requires one glass of alcohol per guest, so a sweet wine and a white wine at 25,000 won each brought the bill for two to 268,000 won. With everything served slowly and quietly at a single bar table, MUSEO suits both anniversary dates and wedding-invitation dinners.

![MUSEO's exterior on Gangnam-daero 47-gil](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-05-1njmd-900.webp)

This is the exterior of Gangnam-area fine dining MUSEO! It's on the basement level, so you go down a staircase. It's a bit steep, so be careful 🐥

![MUSEO's interior with soft, dim lighting](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-06-lekn7-900.webp)

## Inside MUSEO: one long bar table in Seocho

MUSEO isn't made up of separate tables — it's fine dining enjoyed around a single bar table. The moment you step inside, the slightly dim lighting, soft ambience, and stylish interior give off a real luxury feel.

![MUSEO's bar table with a flower arrangement](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-07-x2ncj-900.webp)

The flower arrangement on the table made MUSEO's upscale atmosphere feel even more distinct. Even though it's below ground, the overall interior doesn't feel cramped at all — if anything, it felt weightier and more private.

In fall and winter, coats tend to get bulkier, and there's a coat rack on one side that's handy for hanging them up. The ceiling is mirrored too, which made the space feel even bigger. The music isn't loud either — soft and easy for conversation, a fine-dining spot that's great for talking ✨

There's a private room on one side — when I visited it was occupied by other guests, so I'm showing you the restaurant's own photo instead -! It comes with a projector and is separated from the outside bar table, so it looks great for booking privately haha. I've laid out the room details above 🍀 The restroom is on the first floor of the same building -!

## MUSEO course menus and prices: lunch and dinner

MUSEO serves Korean fine-dining courses centered on seasonal ingredients. Dinner comes in two types: the Chef's Tasting course at ₩109,000 and the Signature course at ₩69,000. Every fine-dining spot has its own approach to menu composition and flow, and seeing each place's own character is part of the fun, isn't it!

> Chef's Tasting course ₩109,000
> Signature course ₩69,000

For lunch,

> Premium Combination course ₩49,000
> Regular Baekban ₩32,000
> Beopseongpo dried croaker (bogul-eobi) with O'sulloc green tea ₩38,000

there are three menus in total. Note that the Signature course (dinner, ₩69,000) and the regular Baekban course (lunch, ₩32,000) are only sold on weekdays, excluding weekends and holidays ✔️

![MUSEO's lunch and dinner course menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-08-dzzr5-900.webp)

## MUSEO's one-glass-per-guest dinner rule and drink list

At MUSEO, booking the dinner course requires one glass of alcohol per person -! (Bottles are available too.) They serve a wide range of drinks — wine, whisky, makgeolli, spirits, and more -! By the glass, you can choose from red wine, sweet wine, white wine, Heineken draft, and even beer cocktails, depending on your taste -!

Moët & Chandon is also sold by the glass, so champagne lovers should definitely try it 🤍 I'd read a review and really wanted to try the Korean Cocktail Gin, but it seems they don't carry it anymore.

Wine runs about ₩25,000 a glass, and draft beer about ₩15,000! Korean fine dining pairs so well with makgeolli, right, haha. Bottles of makgeolli start at ₩50,000, so if you love makgeolli, I'd recommend ordering that -!

![MUSEO's list of wines and makgeolli](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-09-p7eta-900.webp)

![MUSEO's drink menu, including glass wines and non-alcoholic options](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-10-fm87s-900.webp)

The drink list is genuinely so extensive that it feels like every kind of taste is covered haha. There's even a non-alcoholic glass wine option! And for an extra ₩51,000 per person, they offer a dinner wine pairing matched to each course -! I'd recommend the dinner pairing for special anniversaries, hosting guests, or business meetings haha.

## What we ordered at MUSEO and what the dinner cost

What we ordered was

> Chef's Tasting course ₩109,000 x 2
> Sweet wine (glass) ₩25,000
> White wine (glass) ₩25,000

₩268,000 in total! We'd reserved in advance through Catch Table. Such a nice touch that the course intro card had each guest's name written on it ...🤍 Reading through the order of the course to come already got me excited haha.

![MUSEO's course intro card with the guest's name written on it](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-12-kls5t-900.webp)

The glass wine served to us that day was described as generally acidic. As they poured, they explained the flavor notes — keeping that in mind while sipping made the wine taste even better ✨

![A glass of wine being served at MUSEO](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-13-2vega-900.webp)

In particular, the sweet wine had visible tiny crystals, which they said give it that subtle sweetness. Despite being called 'sweet,' it wasn't strongly sweet at all — just a touch sweeter than the white wine, compared side by side.

## MUSEO's Chef's Tasting course, plate by plate

### Shinan spring onion with egg

The star ingredients of the first course: Shinan scallions and egg!

![MUSEO's first course, made with Shinan scallions and egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-15-1vgk2-900.webp)

Steamed egg in a dried anchovy sauce base, topped with seotcho (young spinach) and fried anchovies — a warming appetizer 🍀

The Shinan scallion tart was just the right size, with a super-thin crust that had a great texture. Especially for an appetizer, if the tart is too thick or too doughy it can throw off everything you eat afterward — but this one was wonderfully crisp, with a subtle scallion aroma that whet the appetite nicely.

### Seafood mulhoe (chilled raw fish soup)

The second dish was seafood mulhoe (cold raw fish soup). Made with sweet shrimp, mustard jelly, gosiraegi (seaweed), and pickled seaweed, it had a refreshing, cooling flavor. The sweet shrimp was moist and springy, and the crunchy gosiraegi made the whole dish feel even more refreshing.

### Garlic chive salad with tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty)

Next came a nutrient-rich garlic chive salad topped with tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty). Dipped generously into the pine nut sauce, the savory flavor came through much stronger than eating it plain, and it wasn't salty even with a lot of dipping.

The inside of the tteokgalbi was so moist and warm! I personally prefer a savory, meat-forward tteokgalbi over a sweet one, and MUSEO's was exactly that haha.

![Tteokgalbi served over a garlic chive salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-16-1tpww-900.webp)

### Wando kelp butter and bread

Next up, butter and bread made with Wando kelp!

![Wando kelp butter with bread](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-17-1fk7g-900.webp)

The bread wasn't dense — it had a fluffy texture, so it didn't feel too filling despite its size. I was a little worried I'd get full since the bread looked bigger than expected, but with all that airy fluffiness, it was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and really delicious. And this Wando kelp butter ,,, this was genuinely my type 🫪 Deep, umami-packed kelp butter ... 🤍 Even spread thick, it was salty and delicious without being heavy at all.

![MUSEO's bread spread with kelp butter](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-18-1ecaj-900.webp)

The bread and kelp butter come served with the Spanish mackerel dish — they suggested eating half the bread with the butter, and dipping the other half generously into the mackerel's sauce.

![Straw-smoked Goheung Spanish mackerel with white kimchi beurre blanc](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-19-1ht95-900.webp)

### Straw-smoked Goheung mackerel

A dish combining straw-smoked Goheung Spanish mackerel, white kimchi beurre blanc, and kimchi powder — the mackerel was cooked to a wonderfully tender finish, and the sauce was insanely umami and delicious. MUSEO uses a wide range of seasonal ingredients, and I felt its biggest strength was how delicately each ingredient's flavor still comes through. Sometimes when you combine a bunch of good ingredients into one dish, each one's strength gets buried — but MUSEO seems to bring out the best of every ingredient to create something even more delicious ⭐️

Following their tip, I soaked the bread deep in the sauce haha.

![Bread being dipped into the mackerel sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-20-of1mv-900.webp)

### Gangneung potato and truffle potato strands

By this point I was starting to feel full — but this was barely halfway through the course ...! A dish of julienned potato using Gangneung potatoes and truffle. It was piled high with truffle, and the sauce seemed truffle-infused too. The truffle aroma was strong and wonderful, and the crispy-outside, moist-inside texture of the fried potato julienne felt like a next-level hash brown -!

Another thing I loved about MUSEO: there's plenty of time to eat slowly and just talk haha. At a lot of fine-dining and omakase spots I've been to, the next course gets rushed out, or your plate gets cleared the second you finish and the next dish arrives right away. At MUSEO, there's never any rush to clear your plate, and no matter how slowly you eat, you never feel any pressure(?) — it was great for a long, quiet conversation haha.

### Buckwheat noodles with gim (laver) pesto and sea urchin

Buckwheat noodles tossed in a laver (gim) pesto sauce, piled high with fresh sea urchin (uni) — the ocean flavor really came through. The chewy pop of the buckwheat added a unique texture that made the dish stand out.

### Pear sorbet

Before the main course, they served a pear sorbet to refresh the palate. Made with pear and lemon, it was tart and cool — my mouth felt genuinely cleansed haha.

![A palate-cleansing pear sorbet](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-21-1np4r-900.webp)

### The main course: whole chicken leg

The final main dish: chicken leg -! Chicken leg cooked in pork fat, harmonized with pickled scallions and mung bean porridge. Generously peppered, so it wasn't greasy at all, and the aroma of the leg meat came through really rich.

![MUSEO's chicken leg main course served with mung bean porridge](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-22-ujnsi-900.webp)

I always thought white wine pairs best with seafood, but that day I actually felt it went best with this chicken leg dish ...🤍

![Chicken leg paired with white wine](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-23-d7oka-900.webp)

You could tell how perfectly the chicken leg was cooked — the second the fork and knife touched it, the bone separated cleanly from the meat, no need to gnaw at all -! Genuinely such a clean dish to eat haha. And the texture and flavor of the mung bean porridge underneath was so good that, even though I was already stuffed, I finished every bite 🫪 You can also swap the main for a hanwoo (Korean beef) striploin dish for ₩38,000 extra!

![A plate showing the chicken leg's bone separated cleanly from the meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner/museo-yangjae-korean-fine-dining-wine-glass-dinner-24-5etxr-900.webp)

### Dessert: makgeolli (rice wine) ice cream

The final dessert was makgeolli ice cream. I still think about this flavor ,,, it was genuinely so, so good. I'd honestly never tasted an ice cream flavor like it — the soy sauce crumble and Korean melon (chamoe) made for a truly unique combination. And the pop of blueberries on top completed it — the ultimate texture and flavor pairing 🫐

## Who is a dinner at MUSEO best for?

MUSEO was a fine-dining experience where the atmosphere, the menu composition, the sequencing, the combinations, and the flavors were all pretty much perfect. It's not crowded, and the quiet, upscale feel is genuinely satisfying 👍 The lunch course prices aren't too high either, so I'd really recommend it as a spot for a Gangnam wedding-invitation gathering haha.

Booking through Naver Reservation gets you a 10% off coupon for wine bottles, so if you're planning to order wine, I'd recommend booking through Naver -!

That was my honest review of MUSEO, an upscale Korean fine-dining restaurant -! It's not a budget-friendly fine-dining spot, but every single dish is so thoughtfully composed and full of unique flavor that I'd recommend it for anniversaries, gatherings, and important business meetings 🤍

- ✔️ If you're looking for a good-value lunch omakase or fine-dining spot
- ✔️ If you want a Gangnam wedding-invitation gathering at a reasonable price and a great atmosphere
- ✔️ If you're looking for a great date spot for a special anniversary
- ✔️ If you're looking for omakase or fine dining in Seoul
