Today I'm bringing you a review of Pizza Slice Seoul, an American-style slice pizza spot in Seongsu!

The vibe inside was so exotic that I genuinely agonized over whether to eat in or take out — but it was just too perfect a day not to picnic, so I got it to go, haha. With Seoul Forest right nearby, Pizza Slice Seoul was exactly the takeout food I needed for a Seoul Forest picnic! Let's get into the honest review, haha.

## Where Pizza Slice Seoul is, and the walk to Seoul Forest

Pizza Slice Seoul is at B1, 159 Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2. Seongsu is actually the hottest neighborhood for desserts and pop-ups, so it's a little hard to find a spot worth packing up for a Seoul Forest picnic, haha.

It's about a 30-minute walk from Pizza Slice Seoul to Seoul Forest, but since it'd be a shame to just go see the forest and leave, it's the perfect route to also stop by dessert spots in Seongsu like Hanjeongseon or Heart's Bakery ⭐️ Sweet-and-salty combos are the best, and slice pizza is such a perfect picnic food too 🤍

## The basement entrance and the room inside

Pizza Slice Seoul, this hotspot in Seongsu, is located in the basement! There's an entrance from the main road and another from the alley, so just use whichever is closer.

There's an elevator, but since it's only one floor down, taking the stairs was way more convenient, haha.

The interior was genuinely spacious and bright, with plenty of spots for solo dining as well as tables for groups.

Every table had hot sauce on it, so you could drizzle some on to taste! As it got closer to after-work hours, the place filled up with more and more customers, haha, and over half of them seemed to be foreign visitors! When a pizza place has that many foreign customers, doesn't that basically confirm it's the real, delicious American-style deal?

That instantly boosted my trust, and I got even more excited ,,, •̀ᴗ•́

The music playing in the store was so hip too — it really felt like being abroad.

Interesting detail — there's a sink and towels off to one side of the store for washing your hands?! Pizza really does taste best eaten with your hands, but going all the way to the restroom to wash up beforehand is such a hassle, haha. Pizza Slice Seoul has this thoughtful little setup 🤍 There are separate men's/women's restrooms inside too, and they were super clean and easy to use.

Here's the menu and prices at Pizza Slice Seoul! Slices came in cheese ₩6,200, pepperoni ₩7,000, mushroom ₩7,400, jalapeño & cream cheese ₩7,400, Hawaiian ₩7,800, and meatball ₩7,800, and garlic dipping sauce, hot chipotle dipping sauce, and pickles had to be ordered extra!

Soup, salad, garlic bread, buffalo wings, and fries were also solidly stocked as sides to pair with the pizza. For beer there was Budweiser, plus various sodas, ice cream, and cookies — the menu really felt like a genuine American-style pizzeria. There's also a lunch set discount from 12pm to 2pm, which would make it a great time to visit too.

## Slices sell out by evening: takeout tips

Since I visited around after-work hours, a few slices were temporarily sold out! But if you don't mind waiting about 20 minutes, you can get a fresh, hot batch, so if you have time to spare, waiting is worth it. We wanted to hurry and catch the sunset at Seoul Forest, so we just ordered from what was left, haha.

After ordering, they ask whether you'd like it warmed in the oven for takeout, or just packed as is! Since we were eating right away, we asked them to warm it. If you're eating in, everything comes out reheated hot by default.

They had forks, knives, wet wipes, and tissues all ready to go on one side, so even picnic-goers who forgot disposable utensils don't need to worry 🤍

## Carrying the pizza to Seoul Forest: do you need a picnic mat?

Ta-da, we made it to Seoul Forest safely with this easy-to-carry box and bag, haha. Unlike the Han River, Seoul Forest has tons of freely usable tables scattered around. Because there are so many tables, competition for spots isn't fierce, so you probably don't even need to bring a picnic mat to Seoul Forest.

They diligently cut it with a disposable knife, haha. Pizza tastes best eaten by hand, but when sharing between two people, cutting it up is way more convenient ,,, 👍 If the dough is hard or chewy, you can tell right from the way it cuts! True to its reputation as a great Seongsu pizza spot, Pizza Slice Seoul's dough sliced smoothly and softly.

## Is the cheese slice still good once it has cooled?

Cheese slice, ₩6,000. First up, the most fundamental option — the cheese slice! We stopped by other places after picking this up, so we ended up eating it about an hour later. But you know how truly great pizza places taste good even cold ,,,

In particular, American-style pizza with its thin crust can actually become more charming once cold, with the cheese and dough getting a nicely chewy texture! Even though Pizza Slice Seoul's pizza had cooled down and lost its warmth, it was still moist and so delicious, haha.

## Mushroom slice, 7,400 won

The mushroom slice, true to its name, is loaded with button mushrooms! Anyone who likes mushrooms will love this one without a doubt — every single bite had mushrooms piled on, so clearly they don't skimp on toppings.

Honestly, pizza preferences split people into so many different camps, but since Pizza Slice Seoul sells by the slice, there's no need for any conflict (?) — everyone can just order whichever slice they want. Such a peaceful pizzeria, haha.

## Homemade meatball slice, 7,800 won

The homemade meatball slice comes topped with round little meatballs! Honestly, I'm not really a fan of meatballs ,,, I dislike that fake-meat taste meatballs often have, so I never order combination pizzas ! Ever ! haha.

But the meatballs at Pizza Slice Seoul don't taste like fake meatballs at all — they taste more like bulgogi, and I loved it! You know how bulgogi pizza usually has a slightly sweet flavor? Well this one is like bulgogi pizza minus the sweetness — a savory pizza, which made it even more appealing, haha. I started eating it suspiciously and ended up loving it the most, haha.

## Caesar salad, 6,000 won: worth adding?

Another great thing about Pizza Slice Seoul is this Caesar salad ,,, You might think, why order salad at a pizza place?! But it's piled generously with croutons and cheese, giving it a nicely salty flavor that's great for whetting your appetite before the pizza. And, well, for the sake of our conscience, we do need to prevent some 'health slump' ...🤍

To fully enjoy pizza plus dessert afterward, it's perfect to have some simple veggies on the side, and this dish fills that need exactly, so I'd definitely recommend ordering it alongside your pizza! It's not some bland 'healthy' salad — it's genuinely worldly, high-flavor, and all the more delicious for it, haha. It paired so well with the pizza too 🍕

## Eating in at Pizza Slice Seoul vs. taking it away

Eating in has its own huge appeal — enjoying hotter pizza in that hip atmosphere — but taking it out and having a Seoul Forest picnic like we did was also one of the greatest joys, haha. Personally, in weather like this, I'd recommend getting it to go and enjoying it outdoors like we did.

This was Pizza Slice Seoul, which I highly recommend as a top pizza spot near Seoul Forest and in Seongsu! Next time I'd love to try the hot pizza fresh in the store, so I'm definitely planning another self-funded visit 🤍
