I visited Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch, a place in Luone City where you can taste several different cuts of pork at once. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere made it easy to walk in without hesitation, and the sign is visible from a distance so it wasn't hard to find.

Parking is available in the building's basement lot, with 3 hours free — handy if you're driving. They stay open late, so it also seems like a good spot for dinner, a second-round hangout, or late-night eats.

Inside, round tables paired with charcoal braziers gave the place an old-school, retro BBQ-joint feel. The interior has a comfortable yet lively charm. With so many customers around, I could tell this was a popular BBQ restaurant in Luone City. It also seems like a great place to eat casually with friends or hold a work dinner with colleagues.

You can also order extra meat by the 100g, so after trying the whole platter, it'd be easy to reorder just the cuts you liked best. Besides pork, the place is also known for seafood, with a range of dishes like grilled scallops, grilled abalone, and seafood kalguksu (noodle soup). The various cuts came out generously piled on one plate. Being able to eat everything from pork belly and neck to pork skin in one sitting was my favorite part.

I first put the pork belly on the charcoal grill. As the fat rendered off nicely, the surface turned golden brown and gave off a savory aroma. Unlike meat grilled on a regular pan, the subtle scent of charcoal made it taste even better. The pork neck was lean yet savory the more you chewed it. Alternating between the belly and the neck cut the richness, and since each cut had a different texture, I never got tired of it, even by the end.

It was convenient that if the basic side dishes ran low, you could grab as much as you needed from the self-serve bar. Alongside sides that go well with meat, they also had pineapple, and honestly, this pineapple was really delicious.

I ate it alongside the meat for a sweet-and-tart contrast, and when lightly grilled over the charcoal, the sweetness became even more intense — a real treat. Eating meat nonstop can get greasy, but pairing it with pineapple worked really well.
