I had taken an early train up and was absolutely starving..! It is great for a light meal. It is between Yongsan Station and Sinyongsan Station, about a 10-minute walk? Grab a table first, then order at the kiosk! Still, the interior is fairly spacious and there were plenty of seats. There is salt and soy sauce too, so help yourself! Since there was sundae (Korean blood sausage), I thought there would be chojang dipping sauce, but sadly there was notㅜㅜ Small plates and ladles are at the self-service bar too, so remember to grab them~ They say that if you write a review through Naver Place, you can get a slushie or upgrade your tteokbokki size! The Hyeonseon Combo comes with sundae, gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fritters, and fish cakes. They come with rice-cake slices and fried tofu inside too. It felt like eating curly odeng from a street stall. They went so much better with the fish-cake broth. With chewy white rice cakes and mild fried tofu inside, it was not bland at all. Taking a sip of the broth now and then while eating the other snacks was so refreshing! The fish cakes are even tastier dipped in soy sauce. This was the kind with plenty of sauce. The seasoning had soaked into the rice cakes well, giving it a sweet-and-spicy flavor. You could choose a spicy version too. I picked mild so I could enjoy it nicely! The wheat rice cakes had such a good chewy texture. They were soft but springy, and the rich tteokbokki sauce had soaked in beautifully! I chose the version with offal. I liked that they were bite-size and easy to eat. At this amount, it really is a great-value set. They were fried very crisp, so they did not feel too greasy, which I liked. They would be good left in the tteokbokki sauce for a moment before eating too. Gimmari (fried seaweed rolls with glass noodles) and sweet-potato fritters. They were tasty with a light dip in soy sauce, but personally, I thought they went best with the tteokbokki!! There was a really generous amount of fritters too. Nothing was especially unusual, but these were familiar flavors done faithfully, so I enjoyed them very much. I really found a Yongsan favorite~ When you need a quick meal near Yongsan Station!
