I went to Ikea with my parents, and on the way back we were looking for somewhere to eat near Wondang when we found Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch. When eating out with parents, a hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) with lots of little dishes really is the most comfortable choice haha.

Parking mattered a lot when I was looking up good places to eat in Wondang, and this place had a huge lot plus two floors, so it turned out to be a pretty sizable spot. We ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang for three and added grilled mackerel.

Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch is a quick walk from Wondang Station Exit 1. It's next to Wondanggol Chueotang, and there's a Hanaro Mart nearby too, so it wasn't hard to find.

It was also convenient by car since the parking lot is spacious. When you're going out with family to a good Wondang restaurant, sometimes you end up with multiple cars, and starting off with tight parking is exhausting. In that sense, this place was an easy setup for bringing your parents to eat hanjeongsik.

## Tteuranchae Bapsang for three: price and ordering conditions

We ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang for three at Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch. It's ₩13,000 per person, and the basic set comes with health side dishes, cheonggukjang, and stone-pot rice.

According to the signage, since it's not one of the fixed set menus, ordering the Tteuranchae Bapsang requires adding at least one single dish per 4-person table, so we added the grilled mackerel.

Some places call themselves hanjeongsik and the price shoots way up, but the base spread here was relatively easy on the wallet. If you want a proper meal with your parents at a good Wondang restaurant along with a wide variety of side dishes, the composition here worked well.

## The 12 side dishes and the self-service refill corner

The side dishes come out as a whopping 12 dishes. When the table was first set with so many kinds of food, it really felt like we'd come for a proper hanjeongsik.

If you run out of any side dish, you can grab more from the self-service corner, which was convenient since we didn't have to keep calling the staff over.

### Why we refilled the kimchi three times

My family enjoyed the kimchi the most!! It was different from the kimchi you usually buy at the store.

I'm not usually a big kimchi person, but my dad was eating it so happily that I tried it too, and it was delicious haha. I couldn't confirm whether it's homemade, but the seasoning was well-balanced and it went so well with the stone-pot rice that we refilled kimchi alone three times.

When you go to a good Wondang restaurant and eat a bunch of different side dishes, the one you keep reaching for ends up being the kimchi... The potatoes and other dishes were tasty too though!

## The stone-pot rice and cheonggukjang my parents loved

What my parents liked best was, of course, the stone-pot rice. It was freshly cooked and warm, and after scooping out the rice you can pour in water and eat the crispy scorched rice at the bottom too, which made the meal really filling.

When a hanjeongsik comes with stone-pot rice instead of a plain bowl of rice, my parents' reaction is noticeably better haha. The rice is refillable too!

Cheonggukjang came out alongside everything, so with the side dishes, rice, and soup all together, it really felt like a full Korean meal.

## Grilled mackerel for 15,000 won: how big are the two fish?

The grilled mackerel was ₩15,000, and the portion was bigger than I expected. It was salted mackerel, so it was salty and savory, and it was great placed piece by piece on top of the stone-pot rice.

We got two fish, which was more than enough for the three of us, so we packed one to take home. Having grilled fish alongside a hanjeongsik really does make for a solid, easygoing meal for parents. If you're at a good Wondang restaurant craving fish or a home-style meal rather than meat, this hit the spot.

## Is Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Wondang worth it? Final take

Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch had a large parking lot and a big store, making it an easy good Wondang restaurant to visit as a family. The Tteuranchae Bapsang, with its stone-pot rice, cheonggukjang, and 12 side dishes, went over well even with my parents who love hanjeongsik, and for me the kimchi and grilled mackerel stood out the most.

The grilled mackerel portion was generous enough that we packed the leftover fish to take home. Next time I have a meal with my parents near a good Wondang restaurant, I think I'll be reaching for this kind of hanjeongsik menu again haha.
