It grills so fast you can eat it piece by piece right off the pan, and mixing in a somaek (soju-beer mix) between bites just hits different... On one of those days I visited Gyodaepae and here's my honest review haha. There aren't many properly good naengsam or daepae samgyeopsal places left these days, so after searching around I thought, this place is the real deal!! and walked in. I left super, super satisfied. ## Where is Gyodaepae, and what are its hours and parking? Gyodaepae is on the 1st floor at 23 Seocho-daero 48-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's exactly halfway between Gyodae Station and Seocho Station, so about a 5-minute walk from either one! Great access from both Line 3 and Line 2 !~! - Hours: Mon–Fri 11:30–23:00 / Sat 17:30–22:30 - Closed Sundays - Break time: Mon–Fri 15:00–17:00 - Parking: about 2-3 spots in the alley next to the restaurant - ! ## Inside Gyodaepae and the outdoor tables: is there a wait? Gyodaepae is an old-school-style grill spot that uses both an outdoor patio (yajang) with tables outside the door and an indoor dining hall. The cute, rustic outdoor tables outside the door, and the vibe you feel stepping in through the door... it has that effortlessly cool old-school feel, but it was actually clean. A clean old-school spot... you know how hard those are to find haha. T_T Looked like there were coworkers out eating together, and plenty of neighborhood locals too haha. At 7pm on a weekday there was no wait, but if you're worried about waiting, you can also make a reservation through Naver Map, which I'd recommend! The female staff member was also super kind, and since we were drinking along with the meal we ended up staying a bit later than planned, but she told us to take our time.... Prices overall are pretty reasonable too haha* ## Two servings of thin-sliced pork belly, egg custard and the side dishes What we ordered: daepae samgyeopsal (thin-sliced pork belly) for two (₩15,000 / 160g), egg custard (₩4,000), and somaek lol. For banchan (side dishes), they laid out ssam vegetables, seasoned bean sprouts, spicy radish salad, pickled scallions, kimchi, ssamjang (dipping paste), garlic, and even a special sauce — you know how these basic side dishes at a grill place can genuinely be delicious... We ate until we were stuffed and left thinking we should go for round two haha.
