My parents came to visit, so it had been a while since we'd all gone out for good pizza together. This time we went to Raymond Isu Branch. I remembered visiting with my husband right after it opened — we ate until we were stuffed and still had leftovers to pack up. This time my parents joined too, so it had been a while since I'd been back.

## Salty American-style pizza that suited my dad

My dad has always loved American-style pizza, so when I was trying to decide where to go for pizza near Isu, Raymond Isu Branch was a natural pick — and it suited his taste perfectly. He usually eats things on the saltier side, and once he tried the pizza he kept raving about how it hit the spot. Seeing him enjoy it more than usual made me weirdly proud. ## What's in the Raymond Set, and is it enough for three?

This set lets you try one slice of every pizza flavor — 4 slices total — plus a 20-inch half tray, boneless fried chicken, truffle fries and various sauces. When I first saw the menu I wasn't sure how much food a 2–4 person set would actually be, but for the three of us — mom, dad and me — it was just right. Last time my husband and I visited just the two of us, we ate until we were full and still packed up leftovers. This time, with three of us, there was no worry about leftovers — the portion was just right. Personally, I felt the Raymond Set was best suited for three people. ## Mom's peanut butter porter ale: pizza and beer near Isu Station

That day mom ordered a beer called Peanut Butter Porter Ale. I was curious since apparently it's won 29 awards at international beer competitions — and after one sip, mom raved about how good it was. Dad had to drive so he sadly couldn't order any alcohol, but mom properly enjoyed her pizza with a beer on the side. So naturally that day turned into a pizza-and-beer moment near Isu Station. Pizza and beer really is a combination that's hard to mess up, especially with pizza this American-style — it paired perfectly with beer. Next time I hope dad can join in without worrying about driving, and enjoy pizza and beer properly too.

## Eating out with our dog Lucky, and falling for the truffle fries

And there was another adorable guest that day — our dog Lucky. Lucky loved the truffle fries so much, munching away happily. I wasn't sure a dog would enjoy fries with a truffle scent, but Lucky devoured them, which was hilarious. So it ended up being a meal where mom and dad enjoyed the pizza and Lucky enjoyed the fries — everyone getting what suited their own taste.
