For this trip we spent one night in the Mulmangcho room, which sleeps two. It sits close to Jeonju Hyanggyo, so after sightseeing you can walk straight back without needing a car. Staying here feels close to resting inside the atmosphere of a traditional Korean house — wood and roof tile all around. It's a hanok ondol (heated floor) room sized right for two, and having a private bathroom and toilet inside the room made things convenient. Since it's an ondol-style room, we could fully enjoy the traditional hanok experience of sitting on the floor or laying out bedding to sleep. Before the stay we only pictured the hanok atmosphere, but the basic comforts needed for an actual stay were all there, which made things comfortable. Enjoying enough food and sightseeing during the day, resting a while at the guesthouse, then walking the quiet hanok village alleys again in the evening — all of that became part of the trip. Taking an early morning stroll through the village, or wandering around Jeonju Hyanggyo when the crowds have thinned out, were both good options.
